Meshtastic and MeshCore – great article explaining it comprehensibly

https://adrelien.com/the-20-radio-thats-building-an-internet-nobody-can-switch-off/

An easy to understand article explaining

  • Where they came from
  • What they can be used for
  • Recent developments
  • Equipment recommendations

TL;DR – Inexpensive (less than $50!) mesh radios than can connect to a phone (or not) and then each other to transmit voice, text, and data over long-ish distances (a mile in an urban area, much more in open spaces)

Will George Conway be coming back on The Bulwark?

Cam Kasky has only been back once for a quick hello on Tim's stream as far as I know. Do we think George will be back regularly or occasionally?

Not that I haven't enjoyed Sarah's other lawyers and other guests, but I do miss George's viewpoints, even if I didn't always agree with him.

MMW: Warehouse space that ICE is now backing away from will be sold for cheap for AI datacenters and/or to Amazon.

Trump's tech buddies will get more corporate welfare on our taxpaying dime. This CNN story published on today's date will made me realize this. ICE is spending their giant budget recklessly, the government will likely recoup only pennies on the dollar.

I further predict that in some cases we will eventually find evidence that this was the plan all along. Sites will be sold soon, but we won't find out about the corruption until Trump is out of office in 2029.

Kennedy Center scaffolding and shrouding screenshots over the 6½ hours of streaming coverage with notes

Why didn't a spokesperson ever say to any of the gathered media "Just going to build a scaffold and shroud it, you won't see any letters coming off anytime soon." Very much a long edging with no release! Very unsatisfying!

P.S. timestamps and info in the captions

P.P.S. my new guess is that the leave the shroud up until at least after Sundays festivities if not longer for the needed repairs. Will a pool reporter or a worker get footage behind the shroud of the removal of the letters?

Enshrouding the Kennedy Center Trump letters before takedown

"Most open administration ever"

I wonder if a pool reporter or a worker will get footage of the historic event?

1:35am update - Given the speed the enshrouding is going, they can drag that out til about sunrise.

2am update - MSNOW stopped streaming the Kennedy Center, but CSPAN cam is still streaming

They filed with the court for a 12 hour delay - https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.dcd.287972/gov.uscourts.dcd.287972.58.0_1.pdf

15 minutes past the deadline. All letters still attached. Still building scaffolding

I swear they are going to remove letters at 3 or 4 am to have the fewest people watching

Bank time and temperature signs

Seems like almost every bank branch used to have one of these. Not only are there fewer bank branches these days, but the ones that are still around often don't have these anymore.

When the sign had a quite a few burned out bulbs it was fun to try to figure out what the time and temp actually was.

Now they might have a mini electronic billboard that flashes ads/promos and may or may not get to the time and temperature eventually.

My poorly photoshopped collage attempt at a political meme

I've seen similar comparisons, but this is kinda the image I have had in my head for a while. I would love to see a better done version blending in more aspects of the monstrosity on the White House lawn. Or drawn in political cartoon style; I have no talents in that direction.
