This morning I was walking around Inman to pick up something from a free group, and along the way saw a purse and a tote bag and a Gosling's ginger beer open on the street behind a car. It was about 8:30am, so I figured it was a hurried mom who ran in to grab the kid, or someone with ADHD who forgot their phone and went back in to grab it right quick—but who would soon be off to work/school.

I continued on down the street, grabbed my freebie, and came back up the street the same way. Purse and everything was still there. I saw someone taking something out of it and I asked what it was. They showed me an empty bag with a "not for kids" warning label, that I think was tobacco for the jewel I could see poking out of the purse. They grabbed it so no nosy kids would get hurt. They encouraged me if I lived close to take the bag, and try to contact the person. I do, so I did.

I looked in the wallet for contact info. The wallet had no cash, but had a credit card, license, library and EBT cards. I was still assuming at this point that this person had a wild night at World Cup and just... left their shit like a space cadet. I saw the license was for a male. EBT was for a male. Credit card was for a male, but, on the front was a feminized version of the name that the person clearly had added to avoid confusion. So now I understood this person to be a MTF trans person.

At this point I started to get a little worried. I looked more at the scene, I noticed there was a single Airbud, that had fallen out. No match. The bag had an animal print piece of clothing, wet. So I called the police.

While on the phone with the po' I walked not even four houses before finding a pair of women's black lace underpants on the ground... nothing else around them. I had a plastic bag with me and put them in it and in with the other bags.

I was trying not to think the worst, but after that... I don't know. I tried to contact her via Facebook (nickname is spelled uniquely and bday matched the license) but didn't hear back. I placed the police report but the cops told me that if no one files a missing persons, this will remain a "lost property" case.

So if you are missing your trans friend... Can you please call Cambridge Police and file a missing persons report and check on her? If you think you might know who this is, let me know and I'll DM you. If you can provide either the street she lives on (I know that from the police) or her first name, I can confirm if it's the same person by providing her last name and where this incident happened.

I've been worrying about this girl all day long. I just want her to be found ok.

I am a true tribe member. My hair air dries from wet in under 20 mins and in 2 minutes with a dryer. But I basically hate all of my shampoos/conditioners/mousses/gels/hairsprays/thickening lotions/volumizing sprays/root lifters/etc. and came to this sub looking for a Wiki denoting all the tried and true product recs.

While yes, I could sift through 3,567 posts and subsequent comments to make a list, I'm wondering if one already exists, or if folx have saved any 'wonder posts' with great recs, or could use this post to post said recs? If so, please drop them in the comments! If anything worked for you, please add the only denominator that may separate us: your hair texture—so that like-textured FTH folx can find their dream products.

I’ve been in the area over 15 years and that pharmacy has been my pharmacy no matter if I lived in East Somerville or Cambridge. It’s still in my phone as ‘Rite Aid’ because that’s what it was before. I stay because the pharmacists and techs are the nicest people ever, they’re actually efficient, they go the extra mile for insurance mishaps, scripts written wrong by the doctors, etc. I get so many meds there I’m on a first name basis with the staff and need to know where they’re gonna end up, because I would follow that pharmacist anywhere! She is a gem. My thousand scripts a week may be single handedly keeping them from going under, so maybe I’m alone in this post, but I’m gonna miss them so much!!

I am trying to find a functional medicine practitioner that has anything to say about sex hormone binding globulin, and its relationship to other biomarkers in the body.

I am 36 and have been in perimenopause for at least 3 years, maybe as many as 5. I just had a hysterectomy and endometriosis excision a few months ago, and my hormones are now bananas. I started on testosterone because my total T was <3 so my sleep/energy was abysmal. T did improve it, but mildly.

But my SHBG is sky high and has been for months. Nothing will bring it down. Not high dose boron. Not nettle tea. So now my hair is falling out even though I’m taking pumpkin seed to block the DHT, because even though my T is still not at goal, my body is likely storing all of it in the SHBG that’s keeping it all to itself.

So I would like to know what functional medicine says about SHBG, if they take it into account literally at all? Because I haven’t seen any functional medicine doctor ever talk about it, and it’s of huge concern to me at the moment.

I've traveled all over Europe and have seen tons of small towns that operate like the fictional 'Port Wenn' from FOX's Best Medicine, but I am wondering if there are towns like this in America? I know it's based on somewhere in Maine.

I was thinking about it today when I realized the baseline amount of time allotted for doctors to spend on patients here in Boston is 15 minutes. Dr. Best spends loads of time with his patients, plus time spent investigating these weirdo medical mysteries.

Obviously this is television, but I'm wondering if there is anywhere in the U.S. with a single town doctor that isn't overburdened with patients?

Massachusetts. I was out of the country, and while I was gone, evidently a community solar program signed "me" up for community solar, where you seemingly then get billed separately and additionally from your electric/gas provider for "savings" provided by the program.

They evidently lock customers into a five year contract, with an automatic 2 year renewal. They don't have any credit card for me thank god so they won't be taking my money, but any unpaid "invoices" acquire a 12.5% interest rate, and I'm sure they'll try to send me to collections when I don't pay them—considering I never knew they existed!

I did not sign up for this program. I don't even use the email that was used to sign me up, it's my junk email. I signed in today to look for something and found this hubbub. The signature isn't mine either, it's an e-signature pasted on all pages of these documents.

Thankfully it shows the date I "signed up" is a date that I was definitely on an airplane in a foreign country, so I can battle the falsehoods with fact when it comes to it, but I don't know how.

I've frozen my credit, reported to the FTC, and filed an e-complaint with my local consumer protection agency.

What else can I do? I am so worried this is going to decimate my credit, and I didn't even do anything!

I had a hysterectomy and uni-oophorectomy along with my endometriosis surgery in February. Right before surgery I took these adorable lingerie shots with new $$$ finds because I wanted to remember my “before belly”, before the scars.

Since the surgery my hormones have been nuts, throwing me deeper into perimenopause, and I’ve gone on testosterone to try to help things balance out. But combo the peri, the hormones, my new inhaler, and post-op haywire, and my body has decided to produce

GIANT JUGS.

Just absolutely giant. I had gotten two bras in 30GG, because I wanted them to be comfy post op. Well I’m already on the tightest hook… and you can see my nipple because it no longer fits in the cups. Fml.

I don’t even know my size now! My guess is 28J/30HH UK. In US sizes that’s what? Letter M? Wtaf am I going to do? I was already always having a horrid time finding bras that fit my narrow shoulders and projection at the IMF, even Polish didn’t work, and now? Now what!

And I’ve been out of work since November when the surgery was originally scheduled, just getting back into the swing now. I have no money for new bras and tried out RandomActsOfBras but no one is this size…

I’m going to take measurements and post them in the comments. But until then I’d just love some emotional support through this trying time!
