Was Fluttershy’s strictness towards her brother justified?

Was Fluttershy’s strictness towards her brother justified?

In the episode Flutter Brutter, we meet Fluttershy’s lazy brother Zephyr Breeze. At a supposed young adult age he is still mooching off his parents with no job.

Fluttershy convinces her parents to make him move away, given the couple is clearly uncomfortable with their son still living with them without working, however he decides to move in with Fluttershy.

She makes him get a job if he wishes to stay, to which he reluctantly agrees. After 3 failed attempts she tells him he can’t stay with her if he’s just going to mooch off her. And he leaves.

She later finds him trying to live in the wild by his own she decides to encourage him to attempt to follow his passion at mane styling, and he manages to graduate mane styling school. And if the comics are to be taken as canon he does get a job at a mane saloon and turns his life around.

This leaves me with a question, while Zephyr Breeze was clearly undeserving of any coddling or even gentle motivation, wouldn’t it have been more helpful if Fluttershy actually tried to encourage to try mane styling from the very beginning when he first moved in with her instead of being strict and forcing him onto 3 different jobs?

I’d love to hear your takes on this

If the Indominus Rex was somehow teleported to Equestria as an infant dinosaur and raised by Fluttershy do you think she would have turned out different?

Let’s assume that Twilight Sparkle was testing a new spell or something and her spell ended up teleporting the hatchling Indominus Rex from Jurassic World park into Equestria.

Supposing Fluttershy decided to raise the hybrid dinosaur, how do you think she would have turned up when she fully matured?

Do you think she would have turned up much more docile and social than the monstrosity she turned up in the movie?

I’d love to hear your takes

Should Twilight have opened up to Celestia about her poor acting skills sooner?

In the episode “Horse Play” Twilight sets up a play where she wants Celestia to be playing the main character which is her younger self.

Unfortunately for the group Celestia turns out to have poor acting skills and despite the group encouraging Twilight to tell her mentor the truth she persists in ensuring Celestia gets to keep her role by even getting her acting classes, the later which do little to solve the problem.

Things reach a breaking point, when Twilight has an anxiety breakdown and Celestia overhears the truth.

This results in the Alicorn leaving heartbroken at Twilight having kept the truth from her. The two eventually reconcile and Celestia agrees to help through a backstage rule, while Fluttershy plays the role of younger Celestia.

All this leaves the question should Twilight have opened up to Celestia about her poor acting skills sooner?

How do you think Celestia would have reacted if Twilight did so?

If you were in Twilight’s position would you have opened up to Celestia sooner?

Does Fluttershy really think that Pinkie Pie and Rarity’s career paths are “pointless pursuits”?

In the episode “Putting your Hoof Down” Fluttershy receives a seminar from the Minotaur Iron Will, on how to be more assertive.

She takes the teachings too far to the point she gets mad at every single thing blocking her path and even when something that isn’t another pony’s fault turns her anger on.

Rarity and Pinkie Pie try to intervene, and during the confrontation she calls her two friend “frivolous ponies with pointless pursuits”.

Did Fluttershy only say that out of anger and frustration, or does she perhaps secretly think that of her friends but never told them because of her kind nature?

Why did Luna scowl at Twilight in “The Crystal Empire, part 1”?

In the episode “The Crystal Empire, part 1” Celestia and Luna are discussing Twilight’s upcoming test that will involve restoring the Crystal Heart, and not let Sombra corrupt it.

While Celestia seems confident in Twilight it is clear that Luna seems to be distrustful and doubtful of Twilight to the point she even scowls at her.

I always wondered, did Luna have some secret jealousy of Twilight’s mentor-student relationship with Celestia, or even a secret hate due to the unicorns close relationship with her sister?

Or was it just Luna’s personality and perhaps I’m overreacting?

I’d love to hear your takes.

Does Celestia love Twilight as a daughter, or more as a prized pupil?

Celestia and Twilight’s relationship is one of the most important relationships in MLP.

Celestia has taken Twilight under her wing since she was a filly, and Twilight pretty much grew up alongside Celestia until the beginning of the series.

The pair are shown to be very close, almost like a mother and daughter, and from the few times we’ve seen Twilight interact with her mother, they never seemed as emotionally close as Twilight is with Celestia.

Do you think Twilight and Celestia’s relationship is like a mother and daughter relationship, or that Celestia sees Twilight as a prized pupil whom she deeply cares bout, but doesn’t see her on the familial level?

Why wasn’t Discord turned back to stone, or punished some other way after what he did for the entirety of Season 9 as revealed in “Ending of the End”?

In the “Ending of the End” it is revealed that Discord was pretending to be Grogar through the entirety of season 9 and brought back Cozy Glow, Tirek, and Chrysallis. All with the plan of boosting Twilight’s confidence for her new rule as ruler of Equestria.

However Discord lets his magic accidentally be taken by the 3 villains and placed in the Grogar bell, which leads to the greatest conflict of the series.

As much as Discord might’ve had a creative way of testing Twilight’s confidence many feel what he did was clearly unnecessary and reckless, added on top of the many other things he already did.

Why wasn’t he turned back to stone or punished some other way, after everypony just found out he had been literally running the show through the entirety of season 9?

Wasn’t it a bit harsh to punish Cozy Glow in stone for a crime she probably couldn’t even understand the complexity of?

Cozy Glow is an MLP villain, and the only one to be a minor around the age of the CMC.

After being imprisoned in Tartarus she allies with Chrysallis and Tirek, but is ultimately defeated by the mane 6 and turned to stone by Celestia, Luna, and Discord.

While Chrysallis and Tirek are deserving of the punishment. Was Cozy Glow really deserving of such a fate?

After all she is just a filly, meaning her brain isn’t even fully formed yet, meaning she can’t even make fully conscious choices whilst understanding the complexity of the consequences long term.

Wouldn’t a better solution be to sort of find her somepony to take her in and raise her?

And how could Celestia and Luna even think turning her to stone was an appropriate punishment for a pony not old enough for criminal responsibility yet?

Awkward question: In “One Bad Apple” why is the float accelerator the left pedal and not the right?

In the episode “One Bad Apple” when the CMC are trying to catch up to Babs after realizing the error of their plan to booby trap the float she is riding.

When Scootaloo takes control of Pinkie Pie’s float and accelerates it we see her pressing the left pedal instead of the right.

I know it is a very simplistic and easily forgettable detail. But I always wondered why that was the case, given that many cartoons always followed the same logic of real life with accelerator on the right and brake on the left.

Do you think that ponies use reversed pedal layout for some reason?

How would Celestia react if Luna told her about the self harm she had been doing up until “Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?”?

In my little pony, one of the most iconic yet sad episodes is “Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?”.

We learn Luna had been experimenting with self harm by using a the tantabus to plague her dreams, as a form of self punishment for what she did as Nightmare Moon.

The problem gets so big that she needs the mane 6 to help her control and destroy the tantabus so it doesn’t escape to the real world. Luckily by the end of the episode the mane 6 help Luna realise she doesn’t need to punish herself, and the night princess manages to come to terms with what she did and be at peace with her past.

But I still have a question as to how Celestia would react if Luna told her elder sister what she had been doing from when she returned up until that point.

How do you think Celestia would react to this discovery?

Would she embrace her sister more closely after learning about her self punishment?

Would she perhaps be shocked that Luna went to the mane 6 about this, instead of opening up to her?

Do you think Luna ever told Celestia about this dark secret of hers?

What was Fluttershy’s main source of income, before she opened the sanctuary?

Fluttershy lives a happy life helping and taking care of animals.

She also enjoys spending time with her friends, the mane 6.

Something I’ve always asked is what her main source of income was before she opened the animal sanctuary. Because I don’t think we’ve seen her having a job like her friends.

Applejack works on her farm, Rainbow Dash is weather clearing pony and later a Wonderbolt, Pinkie Pie works at the bakery, Rarity has her shop, and Twilight likely got income from book rentals from her library, and later through tax after becoming Princess of Friendship.

Fluttershy has mainly been seen taking care of animals and later opens the sanctuary, where she likely gets money from donations. But before that what was her main source of income? And how did she manage to purchase her cottage?

Does Princess Luna sleep during the day and stay awake at night? Or does she have more of a hybrid schedule?

Princess Luna’s role is to watch over the dreamscape and patrol the dreams of ponies.

Throughout the show it is left ambiguous at what points of the day she is awake at. In some episodes we do see her standing besides Celestia in the throne room during day hours.

However in some episodes particularly a royal problem it is clearly implied that she has a nocturnal schedule and works night shifts.

All of it leaves the situation ambiguous. Does she usually work mostly at night, and is only awake during the day for certain occasions ?

Or could she perhaps have a daily schedule like most ponies and carry out her dream patrol duties while being simultaneously asleep, and use her subconscious presence in the dreamscape as the one who helps ponies navigating their dreams?

Are shoes in Equestria a privilege for high class and rich ponies? Or do ponies simply not wear them that much because they don’t need to and they’re more for special occasions?

From what we’ve seen in Equestria shoes are a part of the daily lives of some ponies, while being totally absent from the lives of others.

Ponies like Celestia and Luna along with the royal guards wear them constantly, likely because they are part of the royal attire.

Outside of those examples, the mane 6 have only worn shoes in very special occasions, like going to the gala or other formal events.

Are shoes in Equestria usually reserved for wealthier ponies, or simply something many ponies don’t mind or care about because they don’t really need them, and they’re more of a piece of clothing for formal events?

Was Luna in stasis during her imprisonment on the moon, or was she awake the entire time?

In the my little pony universe around 1,000 years before the series began, Celestia was forced to banish her sister to the moon.

Luna remained there in her Nightmare Moon form for a millennium before returning and being redeemed by the mane 6.

A question that was never answered in the show is if Luna was put in a sort of stasis or if she was awake the entire time and fully conscious.

While there is a comic about Nightmare Moon that clearly implies that she was awake the entire time, the truth is no one would remain sane after spending 1,000 years in isolation like she did.

So do you think Luna was in stasis during her imprisonment or that she was awake and conscious the entire time? And if she was awake how do you think she did not go insane from her time there?
