21F. about 5’7 and very skinny. starting my muscle building journey and wondering how much protein i should aim for daily? i’m currently getting around 45g a day, maybe around 1800 calories a day. i know i need to up this a little to gain muscle but i’m not sure what a good goal is? thanks!

has anyone here joined caliunity before? what’s it like? it’s being sold as a free calisthenics park which sounds enticing, just wondering if anyone has any experience?

i’ve been wearing my retainer every other night recently and i don’t feel any pain whatsoever putting it in on night 2. can i sustain this or will it cause problems?

i saw a dress i loved and i’m not sure how to search for it! it had a long back but the skirt was short at the front. what would i need to search to find it?

i have problems with earwax buildup. i’m wondering if using airpods is a problem? i don’t have any fancy airpods with silicon tips. i recently got my ears professionally cleaned and using my airpods recently i’ve been removing them and seeing earwax residue even after the clean. i already feel like my hearing is becoming muffled again. is there any evidence these airpods could be a problem?

21F. no health issues thus far, no medications/drinking/smoking. i've been having bouts of lower back pain which have been making my thighs tingle with shooting pains. i can feel it in my hips and occasionally my lower legs. the more aggressive bouts don't tend to last longer than a few days, i do however get the random shooting thigh pains fairly often though they only last for a few minutes.

the absolute worst case i've had of this was back in november where i woke up with the feeling my back was about to "go". upon standing up it felt like a clamp has tightened around my spine and i couldn't walk for 2 days. after these 2 days it left the bottom half of my body and culminated in my shoulders where i had an evening of awful pain.

if i recall correctly this all started when i was about 15 although far less aggressive - i can recall two separate occasions where i was 15 and 18 where my back "went" although the recovery was done in no longer than a day. the first time i remember the shooting thigh pains was in 2022 when i got covid for the first time and i was in agony from leg pain i'd never experienced before.

does anyone know what might be happening to me?

about a decade ago when i was 12 i woke up one morning with a blocked right ear. this had never happened to me before and took me by surprise as i’d always had razor-sharp hearing. it cleared a few days later but years of on/off mild right ear blockages started up.

back in september i woke up one morning with an entirely blocked right ear. i had i would guess around 20% hearing in that ear for the next month however couldn’t afford a wax removal (poor old student). i had to attack it with eardrops which weren’t doing a whole lot. a cold in march closed it up even further and it didn’t properly recover until 2 weeks ago, where i gave it an itch and it had a pop.

this pop made me realise my left ear was more blocked than i had imagined. an itch in that ear shut it off so badly i could feel it in half of my face.

as if by magic that same day i received a voucher for 50% off wax removal. i had my appointment yesterday where they tackled what i thought was a healed right ear first. i heard what i would describe as a sizzle as a huge lump of wax shot out. it was here i realised i’ve not had 100% hearing in the past decade. i felt the pressure on the left side of my face go down as my left ear was tackled. i could hear my earrings clinking, i could hear my shoes scraping on the pavement. i heard my bracelets move with every step. things are so loud now that i had to have a break with earplugs in in my room.

it’s glorious. go get your ears cleaned guys!

having a big trip in nature on friday. so far i’m planning to get different fruits in rainbow colours, bringing my small steel pan for the sounds, pens and a notebook and some cool holographic sunglasses. i’d like to cloud watch as well. i need something funny to kick things off so me and my partner can laugh our way through the beginning - i never make the most of contagious shroom laughter! what could we do for that? neither of us massively want to use our phones. anyone have any other general inspiration?
