Barefoot shoes for feet that swell a lot?

My MIL has fluid retention and her legs and feet swell up a hell of a lot.

The best thing we've been able to find for her up to now has been some slippers with adjustable velcro, but I notice they seem narrow at the toes.

Her mobility isnt great so dont want to be sizing up too much as that could also pose a tripping hazard.

I was wondering if any barefoot shoes cater to feet that swell? I think a wide toe box would help her a lot, and the thinner soles as she complains about having to wear anything on her feet to begin with.

I'm in the UK too, would have to be able to order them here :)

How do you make your sunday dinner hot weather friendly?

At my workplace they are a traditional bunch and like a sunday roast.

Obviously when its mafting its not the best thing to eat.

So I wonder how we can have the traditional chicken/beef/pork dinners but make them easier to eat in the hot weather. I guess boil the potatoes and eat them cold is a start?

Found a plastic tiger and I'm giving it a new life

Snagged him for a mere 50p. I love his pose, so I'm painting him to be a bit more majestic (look at those eyes lol). I love fixing up secondhand things like this.

Not sure whether to go for bronze or silver stripes at the moment though 🤔

What can I do with this old timer?

I can't actually find the exact model, but the system version is 7.5.1. I think it could be fire HD 2nd generation?

Is there anything I can do with this to make it more usable? I'm not sure if there is any jailbreaking available for this device, or even just apps that make it usable for things other than books?

This one also has yellow right down the middle of the screen, wonder if anyone knows of any hacks to fix that?

My childhood sweetheart

This is my gurl Fudge.

I've had this gorgeous girl since I was 9 years old (2003).

I used to take her to school with me every friday for "golden time" and carry her round and sleep with her every night.

She's had a clean up and a stuffing top up since I took this picture so She's looking a bit tidier now, but she's in good condition for her age.

She was me essa before they even became a thing lol, and she's still my favourite all these years later.

If anyone is feeling depressed here's a comic I made when I was 15 about a pig getting roasted before it could be happy

Take from it what you will, but perhaps the heatwave is the perfect opportunity for our dreams to come true

The v1 and v3 connections fit in the newer connection cases for anyone wondering

Pretty sure I have a V3 and V1 anyway, I lose track lol.

Of course the V1 has no antenna so that bit is empty. Doesn't bother me though :)

Also... don't buy a glittery one like me. I didn't realise the screen part would have glitter in too so now I can barely see what I'm doing 🥹

Gave my step dad my pristine books to read after me; anyway I got him a kindle for father's day

I am one of those people that likes to keep my books free from creases and I like the covers to stay looking like new. I actually have bought some of those plastic protectors that libraries use to keep the books I keep nice. Nearly died when I visited last and saw the state of this 😂 don't get me wrong, I said he could just give them to charity shop when he was done with them... it just hurts me to see them this way.

Anyways couldn't bear to see any more books suffer so I bought him a kindle 4th gen for father's day. Went for that because I also got my mother one recently so she can show him how to use it. I bought her one because I found out she throws books away after she's read them. Basically my family are book abusers.

Thank god for the members of this community that have made them jailbreak-able too.

Help with rev splay sizing?

I've found some of the original rev lt at a reasonable price but want to double check the sizing before I buy.

This is the guide i used and it says to add half an inch for comfort. My longest toe reaches the black line so its exactly at the women size 8 line.

Going off that I would assume I need a women's size9, but according to the measurements the insole length on the the size 9 is 25.6cm and my foot length measures at 26.3cm.

So do i follow the guide reccomendation or go ahead and use the insole length as a guide and get size10?

I do prefer a more snug fit but based on the insole lengths I wonder if the size9 will actually just be too small?

Help with splay rev lt sizing please?

I'm looking at getting some of the original rev lt shoes at the minute. I downloaded the size guide and my toes reach the line for women's 8.

According to this size guide it says to add half an inch for wiggle room, which would suggest I need a women's size 9. But according to the same size guide the insole length on the women's size 9 is only 25.6 and when I measure my feet with a tape measure I get 26.3.

Should I trust the size guide and get the women's size 9 or should I trust the insoles length and get the women's size 10, which says the insole length is 26.5.

I personally need a snug fit to be comfortable but the insole sizes are throwing me off lol.

Any ideas?

Has anyone tried rechargeable button batteries?

I love my connections but I don't love buying batteries all the time.

Has anyone else ever tried the rechargeable button ones? I've seen a lot of people use rechargeable AAAs but not sure about these?

My favourite game to ever exist, I wish all the tamas had it

I swear I could play hurdles all day and not get bored.

u/Abwettar — 23 days ago

Was so excited to snag my childhood tama but I didn't realise its in chinese

This does in fact explain why I got it so cheap I suppose 😅

Does anyone happen to know of a guide for this version that I can compare to? I imagine I'll be able to work it out and use it by memory - I don't have the heart to return it at this point. I was heartbroken when mine was lost as a child (and then found but no longer worked).

I did also buy a knock off tama in Spain once as a child which I managed to use despite knowing no Spanish so... I believe in myself!

Nail stickers are the best for personalising smaller items!

I used some to jazz up my new earphones 🤩 that little gap at the bottom is really bugging me though, i think I need an extra dot in there...

I've also used nail stickers on handheld game consoles, game controllers, remotes, ID card holders and my tamagotchi 😂 only thing I haven't used them on is my actual nails!

I would like to make my leggings cropped, is it as simple as cutting and hemming?

I'm wanting some knee length leggings for work, but rather than buying them I was thinking of just altering some normal length leggings I already own.

In the past, I've cut jeans to length and added a hem and thats done the job, but will it work differently with leggings with them being so stretchy? Or will cutting to the right length and just adding a hem do the trick?

Is there anything I should watch out for or any better ways of doing it?

How is everyone carrying their tamas about with them?

I don't carry bags, and few of my clothes have decent pockets. It's making my tama care a bit of a pain because they always die when I leave them home alone for too long 💔

I quite like the idea of a utility belt kinda thing, one with more smaller pockets like the one in the image (but not as expensive as the one in the image lol). I have considered just a bum bag but they tend to be a bit chunky and stick out more than what I need.

I did also look at belt clip on pouches (the kind with a metal clip rather than a loop) but can't seem to find any that are a good size - not too long but also big enough for a chunky paradise.

But I was also testing out a familitchi recently with a neck strap and found that quite enjoyable, as long as it was tucked into my top when I wasn't using it. I feel like that would work better though with maybe a pouch to carry it in so its easier to use - its a bit awkward to do so while its round my neck.

I've also seen people have them as keyrings as well but I do worry about them like falling off or getting damaged.

So anyway how do you all keep them with you?
