Domain Authority vs Topical Authority

I know both these authorities are different, but both help in ranking is what I've understood.

Having a Topical authority on a subject helps me in ranking for keywords on certain topics.

  1. So can we say that DA is to some extent influenced by TA?
  2. How far can TA take you when you have no DA and vice versa.
  3. Can TA over power DA?
  4. Is there a way to measure TA with some tool like Ahref?
  5. If given a Follow backlink with a good TA website would that add to DA?

Note: Please do share some readable articles if you know off to refer.

Mods sorry if I'm asking a very stupid question. Just learning stuff.

Should the domain from which email is sent be live?

Hey guys,

I'm starting my first email marketing campaign from tomorrow. Let's say my domain is abc.com and I'm sending emails from:

  1. abc.site

  2. abc.info

  3. abc.shop

Should these domains be live and redirecting the traffic to abc.com?

E-E-A-T where I don't have the authority

I'm starting a recipe website/blog where I have no authority on content as I have no formal education in food industry. How do I justify E-E-A-T in this scenario?

Global SEO scenarios

Quick context:

I'm managing a black therapist's SEO in Melbourne. Now the challenge is people are searching for Black therapists throughout North America, Europe and Australia/New Zealand region for which my client is eligible.

Questions:

  1. Should I create a GBP Account for her (as it's a location based signal)

  2. Should I create Psychology today and other Psychology directory profiles?

  3. Would creating these local profiles restrict her pages to show up in other locations? Now that she's passing location based signals?

  4. Would creating these local profiles actually help in Global SEO?

  5. What's the best practice to rank globally for a keyword like "Black therapist"?

How do reports get backlinks?

I have a new website(1 month old), the impressions are increasing and what I've understood from this group is that we need to now get backlinks.

A way to get them is creating good content, so plan to publish a report. We plan to create reports for local tradies businesses. Once we've created the content how do we go about reaching out to people to get backlinks. Trying to understand how we would get backlinks when we're not ranking?

Decent traffic on Google vs no traffic on Bing

I started doing SEO for a website on both the platforms. While Google picked up in the first week itself, Bing has been weird with a few spikes with a couple of impressions on certain days and no traffic on most of the days. What can I do to get some traffic from Bing?

Indexed but no impressions

One of the websites that I manage has a DA of 26. Some of the service pages are indexed but not getting any impressions.

Could that be because I don't have topical authority for those pages. Would creating content around those topics help in getting impressions.

Any insights would be helpful. TIA

Can a website be penalized forever?

Quick context: A friend of mine had a decent DA website - 26 which she created 7-8 years back.

She initially focused on it and eventually lost interest as SEO was too hard for her. Focused on Psychology today listings.

Last year, someone injected Malware into her website which looked somewhat like a Captcha kind of a pop up. However I checked her Search Console and since there were just 1-2 impressions a day max and probably Google's crawlers didn't crawl the website there wasn't any manual action.

I've recently started publishing articles for her however the maximum impressions she has gotten are 50 a day. There is definitely an uptick in traffic but not enough impressions. There are more than 50 pages on the website.

  1. What can I do so that she gets more impressions?

  2. Can this be a consequence of her website being marked by Google as Spam?

  3. Any steps I can troubleshoot this?

How to keep a track of unserved pages on GSC?

Started a website a month back and new to SEO. I'm facing some challenges keeping a track of unserved pages on GSC. A lot of pages serve on GS for a while like 4-5 days and stop getting impressions.

  1. How do you keep a track of these kinds of pages?

  2. Does this happen initially or does it happen every time?

  3. It's manually really hard to keep a track of every page; how can I keep a track with some automation?

  4. A lot of people say that there is no intent for those pages but Semrush says there is traffic

Articles ranking on ChatGPT but not on other AIs

Hey folks,

I recently started a new website like 20 days back and one of my article has been shown on ChatGPT a couple of times. While I'm getting some traffic from ChatGPT other AIs aren't ranking my content. How can I also show up on Claude and Gemini?

What are things pages? How to verify if a page is thin?

Mods please don't mark this as low quality because Thin page is a term everyone uses but no one knows what it is.

I'm new to SEO and have been researching thin pages as it's widely used but everywhere I get vague/subjective answers. Some of the thin page definitions:

  1. Low word count

  2. Duplicate content

  3. Affiliate pages

  4. Auto generated text

  5. Doorway pages

Questions:

  1. If I add more words in an article does that make it a better page? If yes what's the range?

  2. Most of the people are using LLMs to create content so it can never be duplicated.

  3. A lot of people here say that their AI generated pages are ranking pretty good. How do you make the auto generated pages look human generated?

Any specifications? For instance:

  1. Like we link back the source

  2. Focus on internal linking

Do these 2 things make the auto generated content look human generated?

I'm looking to understand this a little objectively like how to go about this subjective definition. Thanks in advance!

How to help business owners avoid bad marketing decisions?

I run a marketing agency while I'm doing good technically I struggle with helping clients avoid mistakes.

Context:

A lot of my clients come with a mindset that they need SEO or paid marketing and most of the time they are wrong at picking the channel. Now as a Full stack marketer I think part of my job is to save them from bad marketing decisions. When I tell them this might not work they leave.

How do I avoid this scenario, my intention is to save them from bad decisions so that they have a good experience with me but most of the time it turns out the other way around.

Now I just think of just doing whatever they say but then at the end when it fails it's again on the agency that it didn't work out because of you. Ahhhh!

Help me solve this problem.

Page shows as indexed but not showing in Google

I have 13 pages on my website but only 5 show up when I search for **site:example.com** which makes me think that pages aren't indexed.

When I check the pages in the Search console only 5 pages show as indexed. When I inspect the URL of the remaining links it shows as indexed. Just stuck with what to do next. Can I start working on new keywords or do I need to do anything to get the other 7-8 pages indexed as well?

Can a site get impressions in 3 days post indexing?

Quick context: 10+ years of experience with Digital marketing but first time trying to do SEO.

I published the website 4-5 days back and it took some time for Google to Crawl and index my website. However within a couple of days I'm getting impressions on the 3-4 page and even on the first page on some keywords.

Is this a common scenario, from what I've heard it takes at least a few months for SEO efforts to show some results. These seem to be early signals of my effort. How can I capitalise on these early signals?
