Do Sami and Gabi ever get along?

I’m watching some older episodes of the show. Mainly from 2009 and I saw a scene between Rafe and Arianna, who I realize now is the woman Gabi’s daughter is named after. Initially when I saw her and Rafe called her his sister, I figured it was Gabi. Apparently Arianna was not a fan of Sami very early on.

I know that Gabi is the mother of Sami’s granddaughter. Which is a little more weird now understanding it in context. Sami is in the episodes I’m watching but I haven’t seen Gabi and Sami interact yet.

Both Gabi and Sami have a long history of causing chaos though. Which I can only imagine is going to happen between Gabi and Sami at some point. If I remember correctly, the last time Sami briefly came to town, Gabi was not Sami’s biggest fan.

So do they get along? Or do they tolerate each other?

Days reference in the movie Fluxx

I was watching the movie Fluxx (2024) and there’s a not so subtle Days reference in the movie. Mainly because the actress who stars in it is Shelley Hennig. She plays an actress who left a daytime soap opera to be an actress who is taken seriously.

For anyone who doesn’t know, Shelley played Stephanie before Abigail took over. My understanding is that Hennig left Days to be taken seriously and make more prime time shows and movies.

So it’s not a very subtle reference but it’s hard to think it’s a reference to anything else.

And before people comment, I didn’t watch Days when Hennig was on the show and I didn’t even know the character at the time. I became a fan of Hennig because of Teen Wolf after her time on Days.

Sadie, Cascade, and the reoccurring pattern.

So with the show over, I went looking for other stuff that the actors have been in. The first thing I watched was Sadie’s movie Cascade. Funny enough, it was produced about a year before The Way Home and involves the character Sadie plays in the woods with some friends.

What’s even funnier is that one key plot point involves characters jumping into a body of water. Something that just feels kinda funny. Given what Sadie would end up being involved in a year later.

Anyone else seen it?

Alice, Nick and “all other guys”.

I was thinking about this recently and it got me wondering. We know that 90s Nick was Alice’s first boyfriend and first kiss. She went on her first date with him.

Yet later when Alice and present day Nick talk about it, Alice tells Nick that he’s the guy who she compares all other guys to. However, until season 3, we don’t really see or hear Alice dating anyone. At least not that I can recall.

So who exactly is Alice comparing Nick with? Or did she just say that to make him feel better?

The subtext is rapidly becoming… text.

I have been pointing out how many of the storylines seem to be converging around or are indirectly linked to Stephanie. But now the show is just coming right out and saying it.

Holly and Stephanie have been having a lot of the same problems for a while. Holly with Sophia and Stephanie with Owen and now Joy. Which this latest episode just came right out and said. Even Tate and Stephanie had the moment where they both had important moments with Holly and Alex around the Fourth of July.

Now Titan’s money troubles are directly tied to the plagiarism lawsuit against Bonnie and Stephanie’s books.

Clearly, something big is going to happen. I have my suspicions about what it is but… damn.

Subtle The Way Home references.

The final episode of the show Brilliant Minds is actually called The Way Home.

For those unaware, Brilliant Minds is a medical show that was recently cancelled.

The episode itself kinda feels like it’s referring to the show. It involves a patient with Alzheimer’s disease and a son trying to reconnect with his father who is losing his memory. Part of the treatment involves recreating memories from the father’s past in order to help him cope with his condition.

While not time travel in the strictest sense, it kinda comes close to it.
