Parthenogenesis is a means of “self fertilization” of creatures that normally only reproduce sexually (the delvopment of an undersized cell) and it is observed most commonly in lizards.

In Christian mythology- Jesus’ mother was impregnated by “god”.

The biologically realistic reason is obviously that it wasn’t god, but that mother Mary was a lizard person, and as such this was how they reproduced asexually.

Mother Mary is proof lizard people are real.

************

Also a disclaimer bc I can’t not; lizard people. This concept offends me more than flat earth does, bc oh my fucking god. Just had to say that lol.

Also; parthenogenesis.

Also also; immaculate conception

Clearly lizard people…. Maaaaaan.

*animal sociology/psychology should be a flair guys*

Are there any bird species who make music like humans do??

Meaning- a group of birds, for fun, singing as a group with melody and harmony.

I could see it being possible especially given you don’t need to make it to “culture” given group singing could still be a means of sexual selection.

Also excuse the obvious bias to western music- birds focusing on timbre or rhythm would suffice too lol.

Ps yes this made question dogs howling at the moon too lol- whilst less organized, it likely meets the pleasure aspect.

Edit: note I’m talking about “non call and response” type composition basically.

As a dm, I’ve always wished a player would do this build. I’ve instead made a reoccurring bad guy that will do it.

Anyways, Volos scourge assimars 3rd level wing feature lets you add character level radiant damage to one hit a turn, and then you and anybody with a radius of you takes half your level radiant damage per turn, including you.

So at level 4 (bc feat) at 600 feet with a long bow, this barbarian build can target a big boss, doing bow damage plus mod plus 10 plus character level, and if it hits, the rest of the party gets resistance to the damage.

Then at the end of your turn, you take one damage, and as such keep raging.

It takes one round to activate (rage and wings).

The coolest thing about it is how utterly statically irrelevant the loss of rage damage onto this build is compared to granting the entire party resistance.

It’s a niche build, but as far as realism goes in the context of the rules the game provides, this build would likely naturally come to arise as a great champion of a kingdom where open field combat is common.

The party I’m running for is level 11, so I’ve taken the concept further, but yeah lol, what a hilarious and epic build.

Edit- sigh. Also rolls eyes. Here’s how it objectively works raw lol.

Scourge assimars wings for auto self damage per round.

“Your transformation lasts for 1 minute or until you end it as a bonus action. During it, you shed bright light in a 10-foot radius and dim light for an additional 10 feet, and at the end of each of your turns, you and each creature within 10 feet of you take radiant damage equal to half your level (rounded up). In addition, once on each of your turns, you can deal extra radiant damage to one target when you deal damage to it with an attack or a spell. The extra radiant damage equals your level.”

Ancestral guardian rage feature.

“Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, spectral warriors appear when you enter your rage. While you're raging, the first creature you hit with an attack on your turn becomes the target of the warriors, which hinder its attacks. Until the start of your next turn, that target has disadvantage on any attack roll that isn't against you, and when the target hits a creature other than you with an attack, that creature has resistance to the damage dealt by the attack. The effect on the target ends early if your rage ends”

This build is raw lol that’s not debatable- I was more so sharing a cool build.

And as always, shout out to the neckbeards who make this community gross- 10 downvoted in 20 minutes lmao? Hopeful your players and not DMs lol :p

This has been an age old debate amongst my friends lol. Like 15 years of campfire debates sort of thing.

Just realized I could ask the internet too lol.

I think crushed over burning- death from heat would take a few seconds, where being crushed to death would happen faster.

More so, most lava temperatures wouldn’t cause instant instant ignition- a mass that is liquid over solid seems more effective at crushing tbh, where getting caught in a non fluid lava flow (ie a rock slide lol) insta kills from crush.

Also let’s say you’re holding your breath when you jump in to rule out toxic vapours lol.

Burn or crush?

Edit: ouch my ego I was wrong.

Also props to u/Temporary_Hat7330 the the solid responses; density, maaaan. :p

Heat.
