I just transferred schools and decided to go home to my country before I start my new one. My old school said I could enter on my OPT again but they decided last second two days ago to transfer my I-20. I haven’t gotten a hold of my new DSO and I’m super worried since I can’t re book my flight and my new school said if I’m not on school the first day which is two days after I arrive I will get dropped.

How long does it take for the new school to send me my visa if I get a hold on them on Monday and worst case scenario if I don’t have it in hand or digitally when I fly will I get denied entry???

I (25F), originally from Norway and have been living in the US for about two years now. I really love it here and I recently met a guy that I get along with really well. It’s still early however but I do like him.

The problem is that I’m honestly scared of falling in love here because I know that at some point I’ll have to decide if I want to stay in the US long term or move back home. I could probably get another work visa if I wanted to stay but I genuinely don’t know what I want.

I just went home to Norway and I’m very very close with my family. Ever since that trip I can’t stop thinking about what it would be like to live this far away from them forever. I love living in the US, but the thought of my future kids growing up so far from their grandparents makes me really sad and it’s hard to imagine.
I know this guy and I might not even work out but meeting him made me realize that if I do end up meeting someone here I could one day have to choose between staying with the person I love or moving home to be close to my family.

Part of me feels like I should just stop dating while I’m here to avoid getting into that situation. But at the same time I’m 25 years old. I’ve been single for years and I’ve loved it but I’m over it. I’ve traveled, focused on myself and built my own life. I do want to find my person someday, get married and have kids. If I stop dating for the next three years while I’m here, I’ll be 28 before I even give myself the chance to meet someone. I know that’s not old at all but it also feels like I could be passing up good people because I’m scared of something that hasn’t even happened yet.

Has anyone else been in this situation and What did you do?

I applied for an apartment about a week ago. I payed the application fee and got the application done. I called them yesterday and they said due to illness it has taken longer and now today the listing had been removed.

Is this a clear sign I didn’t get it?

I have a resting b face and when I’m out walking by myself there is always some dude telling me to smile.

It’s always, who hurt you, you should smile, smile it’s gonna be okay or don’t look so grumpy smile.

It’s always guys I pass down the street and why do they do this?

I 25F have been single since my teens. I’ve had two situation ships that didn’t really go anywhere. As soon as I entered my 20s I’ve been traveling the world and have had loads of fun. I’ve been able to do things I’ve once dreamed off and built a great foundation for myself and my future. I have great friends but I’ve always felt like that one pice is missing.

I’ve always been a relationship girl but it never goes anywhere. Many likes on dating apps, get approached when I’m out but it just never goes anywhere.

I do believe that I probably won’t meet anyone and I’m just gonna hyper focus on my career to be able to make good money by myself.
But how do I come to peace with this because it doesn’t matter how much I try I always feel like something is missing.

Went in for a bleach the other day and i didn’t get the color I wanted event tho I had a consultation before my appointment where they said my inspo photo was achievable for me.

They asked me to come in again which I was super grateful for and it turned brownish when I wanted platinum blonde and i am a light blonde naturally. They apologized a lot and asked if I wanted to come in again which I’m again very grateful for but my hair has been through a lot these past days and I just want it to be right this time.

I’ve been kinda into it lately, reading a lot of posts and something I’ve noticed is how many users like to put women down. I read a lot of dating forums and it’s a lot of personal attacks on what I consider to be pretty normal questions from women. Some girl said she was approached a lot and got comments that she was shallow, someone said guys stare at her but don’t approach and got comments saying that she can stop answering comments because the final conclusion is that she is ugly. saying women that are out partying are shallow and other things. Also something I see constantly is this argument that you have to be a “chad” to get a women’s attention (learnt that word on Reddit lol) and we women only like super duper attractive guys which is just not true.

I’ve just noticed this a lot and people are so harsh on so many women here and it seems like they are projecting these issues on to women they don’t know.

Got a dm from a person claiming someone made an account with the same name as me and that account is apparently sending out links hacking others accounts.

They told me they reported me because they thought it was me and they were so sorry and sent me this email that’s apparently from Reddit (text below). Is this real?

We talked every single day, hour long phone calls, endless conversations and it was one of those connections where it didn’t seem to be any red flags that I had noticed. Everything seemed very genuine and he called as soon as he got the chance.

We planned a date finally and he suggested things we could do and seemed genuinely excited. He talked about it the days before and even sent me pictures of when he arrived in my city.

Then the day before he went radio silence. I don’t get what happened and I texted him what’s going on and if the date was still on. He finally answered that he had been hanging out with his grandparents he hadn’t met in a while but still wanted to go on a date and suggested we could meet after he was finished with his plans during the day. He texted me this at like midnight the day before and I told him I had already made other plans because I didn’t hear from him and he didn’t answer me until now so I didn’t think it was happening. He just said “I can’t believe you” and stoped answering for that night. The next day we got into an argument because he was mad at me that I cancelled on him last min when we had planned this for so long and I said that there was no plan and I didn’t hear from him so i had to make other plans.

He said he still really wanted to see me and asked if we could try again in 2 days and I agreed. We continued talking like normal and enjoyed chatting and when the day of the date came it was radio silence again. I was so confused because why is he even bringing it up to see me if he doesn’t want to. I saw that he posted that he was hanging out with his grandparents but he could have said something. I ended up just blocking him everywhere because I couldn’t deal with this anymore.

I can get things in my daily life that I really appreciate such as flowers, candy, gift cards etc, but what’s something a man would really appreciate getting on a normal day?

IM 24F originally from Norway but moved to the us by myself a little over a year ago.

I understand how important networking is for getting a job but I’ve been struggling to make it actually lead somewhere. I’ve attended events, reached out on LinkedIn and had 1 o 1 meetings with some very successful people. I’ve received great advice and feedback, but it hasn’t turned into any job opportunities so far.

I currently work at a very small company where my coworkers also don’t really have strong networks, so I’m trying to build one outside of work. The issue is that even when I meet the right people, the connections don’t seem to continue or develop into anything useful.

I’m trying to figure out how to build a network that doesn’t just stay at the a good conversation stage, but actually leads to referrals or job opportunities.

Im 24F, originally from Norway but now live in Austin Texas. I have worked in sales across different countries and I’ve worked in marketing here in the us. My work visa just expired so I’m going back to school and I’m only allowed to work part time my first year because of my visa. I really wanna get into medical sales but it’s a major problem that I can only work part time. Does anyone have any advice and tips or if there is a sales role that it’s possible to work part time in.
