2019 Hyundai Veloster for a college kid - OR Chevy cobalt.
M 18, lives in Maine so it gets pretty snowy in the winter.
Should i buy this 2019 Hyundai Veloster for $9,200, it has 42,000 miles, and seemingly no mechanical issues besides missing a fuse box cover, and very few cosmetic ones (like a small ding on the passenger bumper side) It (unfortunately) does not have any heated seats nor a sunroof, but neither does my cobalt. Was in a very, very small accident (bumper got messed up, no airbags deployed, and the whole car got a repaint to color match correctly, so it looks fairly new.)
or,
should i keep my 2010 Chevy Cobalt LT. Fairly beat, bought it for 4K, currently sitting at about 88K miles, and the rockers just started to give out, yet i could fix that for about a grand. the cobalt is definitely in rougher shape, but its lasted me without any major problems for about 4 years now.
im going into college soon, and id have to take out a small loan from my parents for about 5K, and after selling my car (probably for about 3 grand), ill only owe them 2K which- if I grind - I could pay off this summer. OR spend the grand on the cobalt rockers and hope it doesn’t decide to crap out during college, cause then id be screwed with my studies and debt, but id have an extra 5 ish grand going into college.
I just want some opinions and some ideas that people have. let me know what you think would work better! Thanks. Appreciate it :)
