How does Pathfinding works in Tile Map Games

In tile map games like cvilization, order of batle, batle for moskau, hearts of iron, when you order a unit to move to a tile wich is beyond the reach of its turn movement it usually keeps going automatically in the next turns untill it reaches the tile. How is that path defined? It cant be so simple since it usually sees wich path is less time consuming.

How to Atack

I know how to defend. So when its an atack thats what i do. I just build fortifications, bring some heavy artie and let the ai come to me. They nornally bring up tanks and guns and everything like they the diference beetween a defence and an atack battle isnt even there for them. This ofcourse doesnt really feel like an atack and i wanted to know if there's a way of me being the one who assaults without getting absolutly anihiquilated by thr much much greater ai forces.

World Explode Files Location

I've moded the game so it gives 20 minutes of preparation time and also the victory points up to 1700 to compensaite. But i have a problem, world explode. Now, i dont know for sure how it works but i think if i left them untouched for some time they will just explode. That was what happened in this game where everything was going perfectly untill world explode decided to vaporize my right detachment killling 1/3 of my units in a blink. So i need to know where are located world explode files so i can ajust them to the increasead time.

Will planes dropping bombs try to destroy enemy planes also dropping bombs, if figthers.

For example, the enemy sends out an Il and i send out a bf 109 will it try to kill the Il

So i should be at battle 14 i think and im starting to get really tense because the ai is starting to bring around 5 KV1s for battle plus a KV2 and a katyusha. My only means of defence wich i just started to use are my paks 8.7 (i think, its the second bigeest pak gun) and the katyusha had no problems dealing with that, luckly enought i hold out enought to finish the match without the tanks causing to much devastation. With this i feel the ai is way techinacally superior to me because, on the same battle, the paks were acompaigned by my mighty panzerjager who pointosly kept trying and shooting the KV1s (it did got the katyusha). I also seen with the death log that the soviets had a bunch of special forces and exotic infantry squads. I had three rifle squads (two died), a sniper and a couple engineers and miners.

My point is that the ai seams to always have technology so i guess the ai isnt playing with any tech tree or points. So how does it "choose" wich units to spawn? Also do they even have a ressources cap or they could straigh away buy 20 KV2's if i have bad luck?

Im atacking and istead of bringing a bunch of artie and holding off the endless soviet armor waves I will be the soviet armor wave.
