Gigabash’s Giant Monster designs are so underrated

A lot of people in the Godzilla fandom know Gigabash as the Kaiju arena brawler that has Godzilla, Ultraman and Gamera crossing over, but the original Kaiju (and Mecha and Kyodai Hero) designs are fantastic and ooze personality. Most of them are obvious homages to various monsters and heroes from Japanese Tokusatsu media or mythological creatures, and they do it so well while also setting them apart from their more popular counterparts. For example, Rawa is their Godzilla inspired Kaiju before they actually crossed over with Godzilla, but instead of being a generic clone of him like most media will do, they also made his design more like a Naga Dragon from Asian mythologies. Gigaman while being the obvious Ultraman inspired character before they actually got Ultraman sets himself apart by being more of a veteran Superhero who let go of himself after loosing a fight with a Kaiju that destroyed a city he was trying to protect, but decides to get back in the fight again after being inspired by Thundatross’(lightning Mech) pilot. A bunch of the designs are more simplistic but still work really well sort of like Nintendo characters like Kirby. Also this game is just really underrated in general and I wanted to talk about it, as there are very few choices for actually good modern games that let you play as giant monsters.

I always cringe seeing people talking about collecting all 999 Korok seeds

Just gotta rant, but people should not keep wasting their time in this game trying to collect every last Korok seed. The reward for doing that is a literal piece of shit and people only do it because of the “I have to 100% everything” mentality. Like no, you don’t. I only 100% games when I know I’m gonna get something of substance as a reward for collecting a bunch of shit, and I certainly would never go out of my way to tediously do it 999 times. The only reason there even is 999 Korok seeds in BOTW/TOTK Is so you can easily find Korok seeds wherever you go so you don’t have to stress about finding them, you’re not supposed to waste time literally finding all of them because it gives absolutely nothing of substance in the end. This kind of thing applies to pretty much any other game that has a bunch of collectibles equivalent to Korok seeds. And you can absolutely ignore me and do whatever you want in open world games like this but it hurts to see people willingly waste their time with stupid shit like this. I love well done open world games and picking up every last mindless collectible if it doesn’t pay off in the end is not one of those reasons.

Games with Giant Sea Monsters like Subnautica?

With Subnautica 2 early access arriving as well as the Apple TV show Monarch Legacy of Monsters season 2 centering around a giant aquatic Kaiju, I’m getting really into the concept of giant leviathan creatures in media. What are some games besides Subnautica 1, 2, and Below Zero that have huge aquatic creatures?

The Atlan (Doom the Dark Ages runs a Kaiju and Mecha gauntlet

Prince Ass Crack went to other worlds and used demonic mind control to enslave various new Titans to fight for Demonkind, and King Novik steps in with his Atlan Mech (it has the shoulder canons and Doomslayer’s Atlan doesn’t) to defeat them. The battle is

R1: Gipsy Danger (Pacific Rim)

R2: Leatherback and Otachi (Pacific Rim)

R3: Hail Mary (Invincible)

R4: Heisei Gamera

R5: Final Wars Gigan (Godzilla)

R6: Shin Ultraman

R7: Monsterverse Kong (Charged Axe and Beast Glove)

(Atlan is now piloted by Doomslayer)

R8: Evangelion Unit 1

R9: Destoroyah (Godzilla)

R10: Showa Zetton (Ultraman)

R11: Adult Cloverfield Monster

R12: Godzilla in Hell

Before the meme dies someone make a version of that Viltrumite image with the Primal antagonists

Spear/Zombie Spear would be an AMAZING Mortal Kombat character.

I know Conan the Barbarian is a very similar character to him and already got in MK1, but Zombie Spear would be so sick in a MK game. We need Spear in a fighting game since Multiversus may have had him (a Primal stage was leaked) but we all know that game shut down. Think of all the brutal moves he would have. Brain bite, tongue rip, eyeball crush, lots and lots of stabbing. His ultimate could have him drink the Hulk juice and beat his opponent to death, and his Animality could have him become Fang and basically do the kill that she did on Rikka. He would probably have a more grounded moveset compared to a lot of characters in the game without fancy superpowers, but that’s ok because it would still be brutal and primitive, which is exactly the tone of Primal, and something like Multiversus wouldn’t have been able to showcase him fighting with Primal’s sheer brutality or gore.

For example, the Giant Snake and the Carp from Sekiro, you don’t fight them like normal bosses and you mostly just run and hide from them and can only kill them under certain circumstances, same with the V Rexes from the PS2 King Kong game that you can only hold off as Jack and only truly fight them as Kong. There’s also a bunch of the monsters from the Little Nightmares games that you mostly just run and hide from and to beat them you have to get creative. What are more games with creatures like this?

I know the Far Cry games especially 1 and 3 have those gritty jungle island settings and movies like Jurassic Park, King Kong, and Predator have with characters exploring dangerous and exotic jungle islands/landscapes. What are some other games like this besides Far Cry?

Both Turok Dinosaur Hunter last year and Dusk recently did this, where I got pretty far in the game and saved, and then I log back in like a week later and almost if not all my progress is gone? Both these games are boomer shooters so I wonder if there’s a reason for this, or if it’s a common occurrence and happens to anyone else?

The Atlan mech levels in Doom the Dark Ages definitely didn’t have a lot of depth but they gave me an idea, I would love to have a full blown game like this with more combat depth and enemy variety, where you play as a giant mech and in first person beat the shit out of giant Godzilla/Pacific Rim/Ultraman esque Kaiju monsters. Kinda also like the game Dawn of the Monsters but first person.
