I love engine builders but the problem I have is they all seem to end when your engine is "getting good".

I want my cake and eat it to.

I have had a long and depressing week and wanted to treat myself to something a little nice. Cajun places are a little rare where I am and growing up in Houston, I wanted a little something to remind me of some of the stuff I got there.

Got to-go from a place a little on the pricey side. Crab and spinach dip and crawfish etouffee. The dip was more crab(real) than spinach And although they were generous with the toasted bread, there wasn't enough as they were even more generous with the dip.

And the Etouffee, My god, it was like Houston or the couple of trips I had to New Orleans. Every bite had two or three tails, and the sauce was just the right amount of spice.

It was a meal that brought me out of my depression, at least for the rest of this evening. Its rare that you find something truly special anymore. And this made my month.

Not sure why I posted this, but I just wanted to say it somewhere.

Best BBQ in the world could be some woman living in the woods and only makes it for her family.

World class novel locked in the day dreams of some dude working in a cubicle.

Someone makes the best chocolate chip cookies and doesn't even realize it and just makes them for themselves as they have no one to make them for.

That thought is both interesting and depressing.

My wife got one of those "clone your willy" kits as she was going out of town for a bit to help with family issues and wanted something to "remember me with"

Well once it was done and set, I tried to... well you know. I barely made it past the "helmet" and I was gagging.

I have seen many women go a lot further than I can.

Whats the secret in case I have a change in life later?

I got into X-wing and they pulled the plug, I got into Armada and they pulled the plug, I got into countless video games and they pulled the plug.

I love miniature games and could get my friends into this a lot more than Infinity or 40k forsure. Plus the idea of having an army of B1s will tickle the inner 10yo in me. But I just don't wanna get burned by the whole "Welp, profits are down 10%, time to move on to the next thing" that seems to always happen with Star Wars.

For those of yall into this, does this feel like its gonna be another X-wing/Armada/Shatterpoint? Because I would honestly love to get into this and bug my friends into getting into it as well.

I am from Texas and most will agree that, on average, the 10 dollar cheese enchiladas are better than the place that sells them for 20+.

Chinese is good across all the cost ranges, but generally speaking, the more expensive it is, the better it is.

Burgers, Never had a burger that was 15+ that I ever wanted again.

Cajun food I liked the small mom and pop shops over the fancy places almost in every case.

Sushi I can NOT cheap out on however.

This was mostly a rambling on, but I am curios on other peoples thoughts. However the Tex-Mex for-sure was the highlight for me. I know every time I saw cheese enchiladas 20+ dollars the food was gonna be meh, and I haven't been wrong yet.

The absolute worst food experiences of my life have all been when my local store used DoorTrash for my delivery. Ive called prior to placing an order and was told they had in house drivers and it turned out to be a lie.

Its getting to a point where Papajohns is dead to me, I dont care how much better it is than Dominos or Pizza hut.

Close enough where a subdivision would pop up around me and then since I was there before them I can opt out of their HOA.

Id get my hands on their guidelines and bylaws and try to break as many as I could and just laugh, and laugh, and laugh.

Whats some of your adult dreams?

I know games change and minis/rule adjust over time. So I am curious if I could even still use everything in that box to an "official" capacity or if I need to move on?

No biggie as it would give me an excuse to go to Separatist. But at the same time, itll be nice to already have a starting point.

I have been going to my local Wingstop for about 15ish years, for the last 10 or so I have NOT been charged for my drinks and I don't know why. I go maybe once a month and its different people who check me out. Today it was a new girl who even said she was new. When I asked to add on my normal two sodas she went to put them in and did like a double take and said "We will take care of the drinks today"

I am not mean to these people, I am friendly as you should be to people, don't know any of these people outside of ordering and picking up food from them.

I ain't complaining by any means. I just want to know how or why its EVERYONE at this location who helps me.

Through the years, I've had many bottles of soda and the only ones that would randomly shower me with an unexpected spew have always been Dr Pepper. Could be getting it out of the cooler at a gas station, at restaurants, hell even just getting on thats been in the fridge for a couple days and walking it to my sofa only to have a sticky sofa.

Youtube had a short in my feed where a guy was trying popeyes. He had a flavor packet that had popeyes on it. My location doesnt have mention of that their menu nor website.

You dont reaply see it in other sodas, and its my favorite part of Dr Pepper, and the only real reason I drink Coke.

Covid didnt cause bathroom issues AFAIK

It has been storming all day today and my power held strong. Dinner time came around and I decided to throw some chicken strips in the oven. The second, and I mean as soon as the pan hit my counter when they were done, power went out. It was like a scene out of Truman show when they were messing with him(like the rain).

Yall ever had anything happen that made yall think you were in either movie?

I tried searching for it to see if it still exists but no luck. It was nice seeing new things I could try.

Not sure its still a thing or not.
