How do I create templates from prior screenshots?

Thanks for the recent improvements in ButterKit. Hopefully we'll have some additional templates to use. Meanwhile, I have created screenshots for 1 of my app and I want to use similar template across a few of my other apps. How do I go about doing that?

What is your preferred keyboard?

I used to love swiping and my friends were surprised to see how you can swipe instead of typing key by key. Then I showed them how you can dictate and use AI from within the keyboard. They were blown away.

I am surprised how people stick to the default iPhone keyboard and use it for hours everyday without trying other keyboards.

[iOS, FREE]

I was playing chess on my phone while waiting in the car for my daughter. As a novice, I was trying to learn the accelerated London opening. I had the first 5 moves down. But I felt stuck after those. I wished someone would just peek over my shoulder and give me a hint about the next move. The chess app I used won't tell me if I made a mistake until I had already lost the game. And I felt a learning opportunity was lost.

Just like I learnt tennis, I wished someone would just drop a hint at what I needed to fix. So I built an app that does exactly that: I can ask for a hint when I feel stuck. The app goes a step beyond and tells me why a move is better. I also wanted to learn various openings and so I have included those as well.

This is based on the Stockfish engine and the code is available as open-source. 99 % people don't need any additional explanation. For the 1 % who may need additional explanation, you can buy the paid version which covers the LLM tokens cost for additional explanation.

[Update] Offline voice to text keyboard

tl;dr
Voice-to-text dictation keyboard that runs offline and has a notes manager inbuilt. Lifetime plan available. Appreciate feedback.

A. As I get older, I feel like my typing is getting slower and I have to go back to correct a lot of my words. I dictated a lot for my work and so I was excited when I could use Wispr Flow on my iPhone instead of relying on Apple's native dictation, which is quite awful. However, the drawbacks were soon apparent where the voice to text part relied on online transcription. So frequently the transcriptions would be slow or the quality would be poor and I couldn't use it on my drive where the connectivity is occasionally poor.

I had also seen situations with a lot of AI agents where the transcripts end up appearing in online searches. For months, I was not aware of the privacy option in Wispr Flow that you had to specifically activate under settings.

I also often prefer to use the dark mode. And I had requested this to Wispr Flow team months ago. Since I had background in making apps, I thought of just making my own. As I started making my keyboard I realized there's so much more that you can do with a keyboard rather than to just dictate. So I kept stacking on and added a note manager app as well and then eventually ended up adding an Apple Watch complication. Over the last few months the app became so useful that I started missing it on my MacBook, so I also built a MacBook companion.

B. Better
Before setting out to take on this huge and onerous task of building an ios keyboard, I tried multiple other apps and none of them had all the functionality that I needed. I wanted customization that included dark mode, a numbers row for when I needed and other AI skills that I was sure I could run through the keyboard.

Most importantly, I wanted accurate transcription and appropriate formatting which could run offline. There are a lot of excellent open source models that make it possible. So I've bundled in Parakeet, Nemotron, Qwen, and Whisper models into the app and you can download only the ones that you plan to use.

C. Cost:
Family sharing is enabled, so the price covers all of your family using the app.
Lifetime is about $ 69. Annual is about $ 49 and monthly is $8, but there's a very attractive introductory lifetime offer.

D: Drawbacks:

- Since everything runs on your phone, each model can take 400 to 600 MB of space, so I've included something that will allow you to clean up memory.

- Not venture funded. So we run on a shoestring budget and really appreciate everyone who buys it. So it's difficult to compete against larger apps that are spending millions of dollars on marketing.

- The app has too many features based on feedback from early users, so some people find it overwhelming when they first use the app. However, all you need to do is use the voice to text feature and then you can figure out the rest of the parts later.

- I can be verbose when dictating, hence my emails and text messages have likely gotten longer.

Have you found any useful AI skills to use it with Claude?

I have been using Burger ButterKit for a few months. With Claude, the designs aren't as good as I would have wanted. Have you found any AI skills that improve how Claude creates screenshots?

Interested in interesting routines besides the usual stuff

I may be a little late to the party. But I now leave my MacBook on with an always running Claude code remote session. So I have added the basic inbox, daily digest and calendar automations. Claude now suggests times to schedule things based on my calendar etc.

I am interested in learning other interesting routines that people use to automate things.

Here is my flow to help me make the most out of my tennis coaching.

Step 1: setup a free second brain on Cloudfare

https://github.com/rahilp/second-brain-cloudflare

(I connected with the repo owner on Reddit and he has been quite helpful)

Step 2:

I dictate what I need to practice on my phone at the end of the lesson and then send it to my second brain. On iPhone, this app allows you to directly add webhooks so you can send you notes/summary/action items wherever you want:

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/dictawiz-voice-to-text/id6759256382

Step 3: Setup routines/automations in Claude to help me organize my schedule. Claude finds time in-between work/family schedules and adds specific things that I need to practice based on action items. The next step would be letting Claude book my tennis court as well.

Your Claude can directly access your printer as well if you need to print specific things. Use a frontend design skill here to create well-designed practice schedule etc.

I have another one where I save daily stories from my life in the second brain and have Claude organize it as a journal at the end of each week.

Boost your efficiency: free autocomplete and speech to text app: boost your efficiency

TL;DR :  Free autocomplete and speech to text  app

Download link: https://www.freevoicereader.com/dictawiz-test

I have been building an app for speech to text over the past year. Recently added autocomplete after users on this subreddit mentioned how they find autocomplete useful. App used to be Freevoicereader and now called Dictawiz

Problem: Typing is inefficient. Improve efficiency by using speech to text + autocomplete.

Comparison:

- Wispr Flow (speech to text): Our app is all offline and has a lifetime plan

- Cotypist (autocomplete), Keytype, Cotabby: Our app started as speech to text and then evolved to add autocomplete.

Pricing:

- Free forever beta version

- Once in production, will sell at a lifetime price of around around $ 59 to $ 79

- Users who provide feedback will get the production version for free

Strengths:

- Private and offline using open-source AI models

- The speech to text has been in production with paying users for around 8/9 months

- Sync with iOS app using your own iCloud. iOS app has family-shared lifetime plan as well (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/dictawiz-voice-to-text/id6759256382)

- Established business and website (https://freevoicereader.com)

Weakness:

- Too many features. Based on the feedback, will remove features (Subtitles, Canvas, voice design etc). I built what was necessary for my workflow at that point. But I realized that I don't use some of these as much as I thought

- You need M1 or later to use the app

- Small team with not much of a marketing budget or marketing experience. So growth is slow

Limited time voice cloning trial

I see a lot of questions here regarding how to use specific voices. Our website provides a framework for unlimited use of Chatterbox within your own browser.

Recently, we tried the Zonos2 model by Zyphra and were very impressed with it. For a limited time, we are allowing people to try one minute of voice cloning for free. Our lifetime users get up to 10 minutes in one conversion.

Our paid plan users get to use it as much as permitted by tokens in their plan.

[Free forever beta version] Autocomplete + voice to text offline processing

TL;DR: DictaWiz is a macOS and iOS app for offline voice-to-text, local AI autocomplete, meeting transcription, text-to-speech, snippets, and voice agent mode. Works in any app, fully locally/no internet needed.

On one of the Cotypist post, people had requested something with a lifetime plan.

Download page: https://www.freevoicereader.com/dictawiz-test

Syncing through your own iCloud (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/dictawiz-ai-keyboard-notes/id6759256382)

---------------------

What the app does? Voice to text, local AI agent and autocomplete in one app

Problem: Improve efficiency by dictating in any app. Now adding autocomplete since the framework is very similar

Comparison: Wispr Flow + meeting recorders + Cotypist. Everything processed offline/locally with lifetime subscription pricing

Pricing: Beta version will be free forever with frequent updates. Will continue to be around $ 59 for lifetime (Detailed monetization plan below)

___________________

Over the last year, I have been working on DictaWiz (formerly FreeVoiceReader), a productivity tool that combines advanced offline voice-to-text capabilities. A lot of you have bought it, and I'm hoping to make it even more useful by adding a robust autocomplete feature. This is a big step up from the previous version, and I'm excited to share it with the community. It is completely free in beta and you can use it as long as you need without having to switch to prod version ever.

You can dictate and now autocomplete directly into any application (unless specifically prohibited by the application) without needing an internet connection. I'm looking for feedback on its stability and suggest improvements. Remember- it took Cotypist over 6 months of feedback to get to the release point. So please be patient with autocomplete. I downloaded Cotypist but never meaningfully used it, so I can't yet compare the quality. I look forward to your comparison and feedback to improve things for everyone.

___________________

My monetization plan (autocomplete is not yet part of the paid version, but will be after feedback):

- Anyone who provides meaningful feedback will get free lifetime MacOS version. I don't have any marginal costs, so I am happy to do this

- One-time lifetime pricing (probably will stay around $ 59 - 79 which is what the current lifetime voice to text version sells for)

- People who have lifetime versions of the iOS app will have lifetime access and syncing through your own iCloud (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/dictawiz-ai-keyboard-notes/id6759256382)

- This should be obvious, but I have seen some apps bait and switch: all upgrades are included for people who have bought the MacOS app or iOS app.

Non-compete limits ability to negotiate

In our healthcare system, our physicians have a non-compete clause whereas our APPs don't.

So over the years, the system has continued to expand non-compete clauses for physicians. Everyone signs the updated clauses, because you will have to leave town for any alternate employment. So physicians haven't been able to negotiate while losing bonuses over the years.

On the other hand, our APPs don't have a non-compete. So they have been able to negotiate a 4 day work-week, no overnight calls, additional pay for weekend calls and annual raises. I am happy for them (🫣).

I love my job, but the conversations with the leaders regarding this haven't moved - because there is a systemic inertia overall. The systemic inertia is probably true for most healthcare systems.

What are some good ways to approach this? I am not going to get lawyers involved or change jobs mostly because I like everything else (besides the differential treatment) about the job including colleagues.

Where to start?

[Community] I am a new creator with deep subject matter expertise in preventive cardiology. I want to start a new YouTube channel focused on heart disease prevention especially focusing on recent research and developments. I emailed a few agencies and the cost is exorbitant.

Do you have any suggestions to find creative editors that will help with hooks, refining scripts for retention and video editing?

Is it with paying for ytjobs.co as a beginner? Seems like most people there work with established channels.

Remember, you will be working with a complete beginner. If we decide to work together, we will do a paid trial.

Sustained LDL-C reduction with single dose of VERVE-102

Exciting results from a safety study of VERVE102 in humans. At a dose of 1 mg/kg, three was persistent LDL-C reduction at 1 year.

As long as the benefits of PCSKi extend to base-editing, this will be a viable alternative to statins in the near future.

This simple setup is replacing my OpenClaw

I mostly use my OpenClaw as a simple memory layer. It was getting too cumbersome to maintain my cloud setup and . It will likely get more expensive once Claude limits SDK use. So I replaced it with a simpler second brain setup on Cloudfare worker (free tier). I can access this as a MCP in all of my AI agents.

https://github.com/rahilp/second-brain-cloudflare

Here is my usual workflow:

  1. Record on Apple Watch

  2. Transcribe on the phone (some of my conversations are sensitive)

  3. Using webhooks, send notes with a non-sensitive tag to my second brain

  4. Access everything through MCP as well as web UI

This app allows unlimited offline transcriptions and forwarding to webhook:

Would your patients find something like this helpful? Happy to whitelabel for your practice as well if you think this would help

I have been working with my kids to help them with better dental habits. My wife recently had Invisalign and now wears retainers. So we need a good mechanism for tracking everything including dental insurance, symptoms, appointments etc

Based on this, I built a fairly comprehensive app to help people build better dental habits and track dental health closely.
