What is a bit of advice that you can give that is almost always the reason a plant doesn't look good on here?

What is a bit of advice that you can give that is almost always the reason a plant doesn't look good on here?

My big 3 are:

People who ALWAYS water on a schedule even if the plant isn't even dry yet

That plant tucked away in a dark corner "why is it looking sad"

The yellow limp cactus that clearly was never repotted from the store

Also for anyone not in the know, the picture is the phrase "beating a dead horse" which means to continue talking on a topic that has been well spent. (That people still somehow don't understand)

TIFU I ate an entire container of pickles and really regretted it

Let me just say, if you currently eat any brand of pickles that isn't grillo's, and you switch to grillo's, lock them mfers up the first time because the amount of EUPHORIA you will get from eating them is genuinely harmful and will come with severe consequences.

I've always been a pickle person, I grew up on Mt. Olive and those vlasic mini kosher which does the job, nothing more to say about it. My roommate has been buying grillo's dill spears for a few months and eats them straight out of the jar at like 11pm with the fridge door open. I thought that was a little much. I just hadn't tried one yet because I didn't think pickles could really get that much better, and grillos looked odd and pale without yellow dye(can you tell I'm American) yes I know I'm stupid. I stand highly corrected that color ≠ quality

Two days ago I gave in and bought my own tub of spears. Ate the whole container standing over the sink, while my roommate watched from the couch just smiling like the green goblin.

They're good. Very crunchy. I felt great about it. Told my roommate these might be the best pickles I've ever had.

About two hours later my stomach started making fucking awful noises. An hour after that I was on the bathroom floor throwing up, and it was not a normal type of throw up, it was straight vinegar with pickle chunks still fully intact like I could put that shit back in the container. I was actually swallowing them like a snake apparently

Then the other end started erupting. I won't go into detail except to say it was spicy coming out too. I did not know that was a possibility. I do now.

I didn't really sleep. Just bathroom, bed, bathroom and by the next day I was so dehydrated I basically had a hangover, it felt like I had a brick in my head and couldn't stand up straight, light hurt my eyes. For 4 bucks on Amazon you can get all of the negative effects of alcohol!! And it's pickle flavor

TL;DR: ate a whole container of grillo's pickles in one sitting because they're really good, then threw up straight vinegar and spent the rest of the day and next morning on the toilet, dehydrated asf

We're getting a new harness for the boys because the old one was much too small.. I feel so guilty

Now that I look at this picture I just feel terrible. I don't know how I didn't realize that it was too small, I thought he was just having trouble balancing because every time I took him outside he acted super happy, and he never had an issue with me actually putting it on. Never put up a fight, just came to me when he saw me get it out. But I know now that that body language actually meant he was uncomfortable even through his excitement.

Let this be a warning and a lesson, your pigeon should not be hunched over or upset, even for a little bit, unless it's literally your first time ever putting it on them. If they do this, even after you've done it a bunch of times and they should be used to it, it means something is wrong. Always get a properly sized harness. Don't do what I did.

Luckily my boy still loves going outside, and doesn't mind harnesses. But we're getting a much more comfortable one now that should be here in about a week :)

We are being very pouty about the harness.

He is devastated. As if I've personally wronged him. How will he ever recover from such a travesty.

I should mention it fits him perfectly, his neck feathers are just sitting over it a little. I've had him for like a year now and he let me put it on him. Suddenly, we're on the brink of emotional collapse. Big baby.

Wondering if anyone else just shits a lot. Not a troll post.

Recently I've added overnight oats to my diet. And ever since then, I genuinely shit like 4 times a day. Before I used to think my boyfriend was insane for saying that he was doing the same, but now I understand it. And it's like, good sized logs. Wtf. Is it the oats or should I be medically concerned?? Does anyone else just crap a lot lmao

His cage looks really dirty but I just changed the padding yesterday lol. He's just a very messy eater.

I really hope my theory is correct

As someone who ADORES pony toys, and remembers that MLP is a toy-first franchise:

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LET THE BLUE MANE STREAKS BE GLOW IN THE DARK/LIGHT UP ON THE FIGURINESSSS

I really really hope that's why they all have that blue stripe!! I would love to have glowing pony figurines or vinyl lamps where their hair glows because omggggg 😭🤞

I'm in a mono relationship and I think I'm poly. I don't want to hurt my partner later down the line because I'm confused.

Thanks to everyone who responded. The bot has the original text. But now I've realized that my idea of what poly people are is really just a bunch of people dating each other with no knowledge of who or what. That's not what I understood it as.

I'm just going to keep my relationship as-is. I'm happy enough. I don't want to abandon my partner to be with people who are going to be with a bunch of random other people. My expectations were unrealistic.

Guess I'm not poly after all.

Help me summarize the fandom in a way that both squashes assumptions about us and also explains what we are, in as short as possible.

I want to come out to my family but don't want them to think I'm into animals, or think I am an animal, as that's 90% of what people assume when you even mention a furry. I live in the Midwest so everyone is under a rock.

I will read through every response as if I'm my parents and let you know how they'd respond so I can find a really good one. They aren't haters or anything, just make assumptions quickly based on media fear mongering.

Furries have mastered third spaces! (long hype post)

for me, it started the normal way, I made a sona because that's just what you do first, and for a while that was it. no meetups, no cons, just me and a character sheet doing roleplay in some server at 1am like everyone else's origin story. I genuinely didn't think there was more to it than that. it was a little internet hobby, that I tried not to let my family know about.

then I got curious about the public side of things and started looking up meetups and conventions near me, not even furry specific at first, just conventions in general. and it was kind of funny how fast I noticed our pattern. anime cons, comic cons, whatever, sure, but the furry ones kept coming up bigger than I expected, and not just the big name ones either. there's this whole undercurrent of small local meetups too, bar nights, park walks, diner hangouts, stuff that isn't advertised anywhere except a discord server with 200 people in it. once you're plugged into one you're just in this huge network! :3

I think part of why it's so easy to coordinate is that furries already know we're weird. like that's not an insult, lol. you can't accidentally end up in this fandom, you have to choose it, so everyone already did the work of being okay with being a little off before they even showed up. that self awareness makes organizing stuff so much easier because nobody's pretending to be normal for each other. you post "meetup at the diner saturday 2pm" and twenty people who are all fine with being weird together just show up.

and it's a lot of young people, teens and twenty somethings mostly, who for whatever reason are just less scared of being visibly different than most people our age tend to be. that's not nothing. most of us grew up being told to blend in, and then you find a group of people actively not doing that, and it kind of gives you permission too.

but the biggest thing, the thing that actually made me get it, is the suits and the masks. so many of us have some flavor of social anxiety and then you put on a partial or a full suit and something just clicks off. you're not you anymore, not in the way that makes you overthink every interaction. people who are dead silent out of suit will fully approach strangers and start goofing around the second the head goes on. it's like a permission slip! and when you get a whole convention hall full of people who all just got handed that same permission slip at the same time, you end up with the most outgoing, chaotic, excitable crowd you've ever seen. that's why furries end up running third spaces so well. we're not just showing up to them, we're the ones RUNNING the place! So remember, you are remarkable, because you're part of a community who is going to maintain our safe spaces by being weird and wild <3 (\*^3^)/~♡
