Taking away gift cards

Why. So stupid worse decsion ever. They was my only way to pay for it when I didnt have a debit card cause i was child. I still buy them why get rid of them. My bank makes it pain to set up debit card. Its all automated and wont allow me to setup over phone wich i have to do to get debit card to work
