Would heatless curlers work for this hair length?

I have hair a similar length to this and I'd love to add waves/curls like the woman in the photo.

The problem is I utterly suck at curling my hair with proper curlers or straighteners and I also don't have a huge amount of patience.

Would something like heatless curlers work? (Second image).

Tell me something funny your students have said

I'm having a bit of a rubbish day.

What is something you've overheard a student say or they have said to you that was funny?

I have two:

Overheard: "I thought a serial killer was someone who broke into your house and stabbed your cereal"

Direct "Miss if you eat meat and enjoy it technically that's still an emotional support animal"

Setraline and less inhibition?

Possibly an odd one. I've had anxiety as long as I can remember, linking to another medical condition.

I was on citalopram for around 10 years and then moved to setraline for around the last two years. I came off citalopram because of the nightmares.

I've noticed that I seem to be more and more outright with my words, like the filter from my brain to my mouth is lacking. As a teacher that can be quite dangerous depending on the student I'm dealing with.

Has anyone else found this?

I'm not sure if it's because i don't feel as anxious, although it's not completely gone, or if it's a side efdext.

I think i swore at a student

Secondary teacher here.

I was pottering around this afternoon, nearly the end of term for us, and a student came into the room with the pure intent of taking photos of me. He's about 15 and doesn't have the best reputation although prior to now i thought we got along.

I asked him to stop and leave several times and he refused. I started to walk down the corridor towards the office to report it and he still didn't stop.

I think I said something like "why do you have to be such a prat" but i think I might have said prick. Either one i shouldn't have said.

I take my privacy very seriously and I feel like my work should be my safe place and he just pushed and pushed and it was quite intimidating. He then went to his friends and showed them the pictures.

I've reported the phone issue but I didn't realise until after I calmed down what I think I've said.

Best durable nail varnish? (Not gel)

I've been using press ons lately after developing what I think is a gel allergy but they keep popping off.

I'd like to go back to doing normal manicures with normal nail varnish.

Can anyone recommend a nail varnish brand that doesn't chip easily?

Dealing with attitude from girls

I think we've all seen it. They eye roll, the sarcastic tone, basically the "mean girls".

How do you deal with them? I had to pull out a student from someone else's class after I went in to get some books and everything about her was dripping in attitude.

I've followed the behaviour code with a behaviour point but she's not even my student.

Iced coffee recipe?

I absolutely love iced coffee but I didn't realise how much sugar was in store bought ones until recently.

Does anyone have a recipe or a favourite syrup to use? Ideally sugar free. Is there a certain type of milk that's best?

Thank you 💙

I want a second cat - what are the challenges?

Other than finances, which i know I can afford (food, insurance, tick and flea) and bonding the two cats are there any challenges that aren't as obvious?

I would love to get my cat a friend, she's lovely with other cats and I think she would like a friend but I want to go into this with my eyes open.

Professional development- classroom strategies

As part of my professional development next year I want to develop more teaching strategies that get students to be more independent. I teach high school and the lower age groups I've found to be very reliant on me instead of problem solving, they basically give up before trying even when they are completely capable.

I completely forgot about the strategy "three before me" and I want to incorporate more strategies like that into the classroom. I've been teaching for 12 years now and feel like I need to refresh myself.

It's odd but I feel strangely guilty about this post. I teach a practical subject and when 70% of the class keep coming to me constantly with things they can figure out themselves I feel like I can't help those that genuinely need it.

Are there any books, podcasts, videos etc that people would recommend?

How are angels created?

Are they created by God?

For a demon they go to hell, lose their soul completely and then become a demon.

I just finished "You", what are your thoughts on the final season?

Personally I loved the final 5 episodes. I thought the writers were very clever in how they made the audience feel.

Onedrive is deleting my images from my phone. How do i stop it?

I have OneDrive and want it to back up my images but I don't want it to remove them from my phone. It's literally a case of "if my phone breaks i still have the images" case, I'm not bothered about saving space.

Is there a setting I can turn on or off?

Black cats and finding ticks?

My cat is mainly black other than a couple of bits on her tummy.

She's been playing in long grass recently and I'm wondering if there are any decent methods of finding ticks, especially on her tummy where she's not a fan of being touched?

I'm mainly concerned because she brought me back a lizard that had ticks on it.

She is on ticks and flea prevention from the vets but I still want to check.

PM/COS and menopause?

I'm seriously considering a hysterectomy. I understand that it doesn't fix PMOS because it's a whole body condition but my periods are my worst part, everything else I can manage.

My question is that with a hysterectomy I would likely go into early menopause and I wondered what people's experiences were? Or how it might differ from someone that doesn't have PMOS?

What conditions can cause long menstrual bleeding?

I was diagnosed when I was 19 with PCOS/PMOS, now 35.

My periods have always been long. Before I went on BC I would go for months without a period, for example 6-12 months (hence going on BC) but then bleed for 4-12 weeks. My periods were extremely heavy, going through a pad and a tampon in under an hour.

Now I'm on BC (provera) and have been for about two years. I get a period once every 3 months but I'm now on week 4 of bleeding. My periods are much lighter in general but the length of them is exhausting.

Is this PCOS or something else? Gynecology have done ultrasounds, blood tests for thyroid, hysteroscopy but everything has come back clear. They tried the hormonal coil 3 times but it kept coming out.

I'm now at the point where I am daily thinking about a hysterectomy.

Cat enrichment with water?

My mum has two dogs and puts carrot sliced in their water for enrichment and to help the calm down.

I'm wondering if there is a food safe version for cats as well? My cat has no interest in carrots 😂

I'm hoping to encourage her to drink more water.

As the question says, the UK is having some hot days. What are your tips on making sure your purr machine stays comfy?
