Best game for beginners?

Mostly so that I can make a TAS out of it to see how far I can go, and also since I'm playing the games on the plaza for the first time. I will still need some Play Coins to get through efficiently, but oh well.

A few things I might want to clarify:

  1. I have all DLC, since I homebrewed my 3DS to download them through HShop.
  2. My initial pick is Market Crashers, since it seems mechanically simple and deep, and also has companies inspired by other plaza games as a nice Easter Egg.

Good idea to get the remaining games?

Mostly since I have 0 and all three Kiwamis on my PS4. With the release of Stranger than Heaven, I doubt there will be any more games coming on the system, so I thought about getting at least the Kiryu Saga out of the way, which means buying the the 4 and 5 remasters and 6.

Having the Judgement duology under my belt would sound nice as well.

Using Miis from Mii Maker for StreetPass Plaza?

Not sure if I can post this here, but is it alright to talk about CFW here?

If so, can I use the Miis I made in Mii Maker to play games at the StreetPass Plaza? I'm worried that I don't have anyone with a 3DS around my home anymore, and I don't want to walk around everywhere, knowing that the chances of getting a hit with StreetPass are next to zero.

Use Miis from Mii Maker for StreetPass Plaza?

Mostly since I'm not sure if there are any people with a 3DS around my home anymore.

Since the Mii Plaza is reliant on StreetPass so much, I don't want to walk around everywhere, hoping that someone has a 3DS, so using Miis I already have, like with the Mii Maker, would make it easier for me to play the games StreetPass Plaza offers.

Canonical Medium Route?

Mostly because we know how the easy and hard routes look like in 64. For reference, here are how those two look like:

Easy: Corneria -> Meteo -> Fichina -> Sector X -> Titania -> Bolse -> Venom I
Hard: Corneria -> Sector Y -> Aquas -> Zoness -> Sector Z -> Area 6 -> Venom II

As for me, my "canonical" medium route would be reaching Katina from Meteo, then doing the missions in the middle row before entering Area 6 from Macbeth.

WIP of my game's starting town. Used inspiration from Aspertia City for that one.

It's just the cliff on the left side that's bugging me... Just can't seem to get it right.

Few questions about Essentials

Mostly because I've recently begun using it and that I need to get worries out of the way:

  1. Is there a way to cap a Pokémon's level, then increase it once a Badge is obtained? I wanted to have eighteen Gyms, one per type.
  2. Where can I find good mugshots of Pokémon Trainers from Gen 6 onwards? This is because I wanted one for Larry, since my game's first Gym is Normal-type, though I also have Cheren as a backup if need be.

Ask Me Anything - Chihiro Fujisaki

"H-Hello... I-I'm Chihiro Fujisaki... Some friends told me I c-can answer questions here, so I hope I can d-do my best... So...p-please, go ahead..."

FYI, this version uses Chihiro's appearance in both UTDP and S, and I also throw in the Hundred Line characters due to me headcanoning them as a separate Danganronpa class. This means that he knows both the V3 and anime characters as well as those from Hundred Line, so go nuts!

Best games for beginners?

Mostly because I was about to play around with a game called "Yoshi's Fabrication Station", a game on Level Share Square that allows you to create and play your own Yoshi levels in the style of the SNES game.

For reference, I have a modded 3DS, meaning I have access to DS, New Island and the Woolly World remaster, but I wouldn't mind emulating the older games on BizHawk if need be.

Tropes suggestions

Mostly to see if they could be included or not. I could suggest them on the site, but I'm not sure how to formulate an example for the submission, so I'm worried that the tropes are getting bombed.

Anyway, here are the tropes I had in mind:

  • The Co-Plaintiff Did It: If a co-plaintiff is present in a trial, they are guaranteed to be the culprit or, at the very least, an accomplice. No precise examples for that since not all co-plaintiffs that appear in media are necessary guilty.
  • Career-Ending Defeat: When a player or coach resigns after losing an important match. Examples include Perfect Cascade in Inazuma Eleven Chrono Stone and the Toho Coach at the end of the Captain Tsubasa Middle School Arc.
  • The Devilette: A female character dressing up like a devil or having a devil-themed outfit, with sadism being optional. Shiki from Senran Kagura, Kurona from Gal*Gun and Sadi from One Piece are good examples.

How are bonus cases notated?

Mostly since every other case gets this treatment as well. For example, 1-4 refers to Turnabout Goodbyes.

Personally, I like to notate bonus cases with an X. Taking Dual Destinies for example, 5-X1 refers to Turnabout Reclaimed, and 5-X2 refers to Asinine Phoenix.

Dumb question, can I use GameMaker to update an official tutorial?

I'm mostly creating the tutorial for myself to see how it will turn out, but I wanted to share progress over time in case some might feel the need to review it.

In case you're curious, it's gonna be an updated Space Rocks tutorial. Updated in the sense that it will include functions that were introduced in DnD, as well as the stuff from the Space Mods videos that included stuff like parallax, power-ups and enemy factions.

Several Yakuza features: possible in MZ?

The features I'm talking about are unremovable weapons and armor, restaurants and inventory boxes.

  • Unremovable Items

This is mostly a QoL feature, since I don't want players accidentally discarding a rare piece of equipment when in actuality, they wanted to use it. Basically, weapons and armor you can get at several points, like in shops, can be discarded and sold. Weapons and armor that are obtained only once, like those from sidequests, can neither be discarded nor sold, but they can be placed in equipment boxes for both safekeeping and freeing up some inventory space.

  • Inventory Boxes

In some Yakuza games, your inventory is limited to generally 20 items and 15 weapons and armor each, though you can upgrade that space in some games like Ishin Kiwami. In case you run out of space, you can use Inventory Boxes at your hideout, save points and convenience stores to free up some space. The inventory boxes themselves have unlimited space.

  • Restaurants

6 and Kiwami 2 have a really interesting mechanic when it comes to restaurants. Here's how it looks like:

  • You can order several items at a time. You health does not need to be less than full for this.
  • If you order certain items at once, you'll obtain a "Food Bonus", which gives you extra EXP for upgrades. The EXP you get from it differ from combo to combo: some grant red EXP, others grant green.
  • If you order items while your health is or becomes full, a hunger gauge fills up. If the hunger gauge is full as well, you can still confirm your order, but you won't get EXP from Food Bonuses. Only the EXP from the individual items you ordered.

By the way, I have all Visustella cores, in case that's of any help.

Mostly because I wanted to see how a Bakugan plays and looks like. Also, before you ask, I'm not getting into the hobby proper, it's just to have something from the series both as a collector's item and as a complement to my YuGiOh cards.
