Axel81 taking long time to ship my product?.

I have no idea where else to ask this but I ordered an Apollo atc from him. If you don't know who he is, he is some bloke from Italy who sells these vga boxes to connect vintage computers to conventional vga pc monitors. I got an apollo x for my amiga 500 earlier this year and it couldn't be any more perfect. I ordered the Apollo atc for my atari 800xl and it has been more than a month but he has not shipped it out yet. I paid a lot of money for it because shipping from Italy to Australia can be expensive. I do not want a refund, I just want to know if it is normal to be waiting this long at this time.

Thoughts on this product and other fpga solutions?.

Attached is the redip cia fpga replacement for the amiga. I thought there was only one for the c64 until I checked again. Fpga solutions is something I definitely should be getting into for all of my vintage computers but I would also be interested in your thoughts and experiences with this product?. How well does it work in your amiga?. Are there any other fpga solutions that I should consider?.

Why do video recorders eventually eat tapes?.

You know exactly what I mean, so sorry to traumatize you again. I've had a few recorders in my possession, such as a combo unit with a DVD for about 5 years before it buggered my uncle's copy of titanic. I'm just wondering why that happens.

Personally I prefer DVDS not because of the obvious video quality difference, but because I usually can't watch movie without subtitles, which as far as I know they don't have.

Crazytel for analog dial up modem problem.

I am trying to get my analog dial up modem to communicate properly over crazytel voip, I dial some numbers where the handshake is flawless when connected to the telstra nbn landline but when connected to my grandstream ht801 registered with crazytel, my modem has a lot of trouble communicating and anything above 9600 it can't hold on for the inititial handshake. Even at 9600 it has trouble as while the handshake sounds somewhat ok, the carrier line immediately goes dead upon connecting. Any ideas on what I should do?.

My settings are,

Disable Line Echo Canceller (LEC): Yes

Disable Network Echo Supressor: Yes

VAD: No

Fax Mode: Pass-Through

Jitter Buffer Type: Fixed

Jitter Buffer Length: High

Preferred Vocoder: PCMA for all choices.

You mods really love your precious permanent mute buttons don't you?.

That button looks so juicy, like you just want to take a nice bite out of it if you ban a user, probably as juicy as youtube's copyright system, which you people probably abuse like Brent Rivera.

Woman Comes Face-To-Face With Man She Says Has Been Relentlessly Stalking Her

So why is it that the useless incompetent pricks say that they couldn't do anything, then when she went on inside edition, all of a sudden, they're like "oh, this crazy motherfucker is harassing this poor bitch, lets arrest him so we don't look like the useless bastards she made us look like!!!!!"

She's very lucky she's still here, what if she had suddenly went missing and they eventually find her remains with signs of rape or sexual assault? I hope she fled the state after all this. People grow up being taught to trust the system, trust the law, trust the cops, and then you see shit like this. The cops are being paid to look after your safety? My arse. The only thing that surprises me about all of this is that she wasn't punished for making the cops look like bumbling pricks they are.

Like I said, she is very lucky she is still here and I hope she fled the state after this, for her own safety.

Compuserve forums.

I am looking for the original compuserve forums, which were a staple of the pre web internet, they are different from the web forums, which shut down in 2017. The original forums shut down with the original service in 2009. These would contain a myriad of support, research and historically and culturally important content that would be extremely invaluable to researchers.

What kind of server did the online registration feature of vintage software connect to?.

Try to use the online registration of any software from symantec, datastorm, central point, etc and there is obviously no modem on the other end of the number you dialed. I've always wondered what was actually on the other end?. Yes it would've been a modem, but what would've come up if you dialed the number in a terminal?.

How fat of a paycheck do you think Ammon Mcneff or any other bam associates gave the corrupt pigs?.

Honestly, I get that this is america and all, but there has to be some money involved. And yes I will refer to both departments as the corrupt pigs from now on because I am not only anonymous but I also don't live anywhere near america so if they want to come and arrest me for talking shit about them, go right ahead.

Syncro express?. Is it for me?.

I did a bit of research about copying commercial disks for the amiga and atari st and while I am more than aware that xcopy is the standard for that, I also found syncro express as well. From the brief research I did, it uses hardware and custom chips, unlike xcopy, which only nibbles the disk in software. It was released by datel, as you know are the people behind the famous action replay cartridges, which makes it even more appealing. What do you think?.

What did you use to copy commercial disks back in the day?.

I'm trying to find a solution for this, x copy was and still is the gold standard on amiga, while fast hack em or maverick are on the c64. It's been a lot more difficult for me to find a solution. So far I thought I found one, the discovery cartridge from happy computers, but that is very rare and probably expensive as well. The only other solutions I could find, I read they could copy some, but not all, commercial disks.

Archive of original compuserve or aol forums?.

I am looking for an archive of the original compuserve forums, which from what I have researched, were the default place for computer hobbyists, geeks, researchers, throughout it's life and it's peak popularity was in the early 90s just before aol started to gain traction and popularity. Speaking of, as far as I know, aol also seemed to have forums as well, because I saw something about a symantec forum on aol when looking through their manuals. I want to know if a publicly accessible archive of either one might exist somewhere.

As you know, the original compuserve service was shut down in 2009, followed by the server for the original aol desktop clients in 2018. Some of these messages and files, especially on compuserve, might contain a myriad of support content as well as media that otherwise would be considered lost. The only thing I know of at the moment is a warc file of the compuserve forums, but I don't know how to open it or if it's even complete, as the archive team wiki says the bot crashed and was continued manually, but did not complete in time, I'm guessing that means it did not complete before aol pulled the plug on the original forums?.

Why is solfege important?.

I've been doing piano lessons since I was 16, now at 22, it's still unclear so me why it is so important. The only thing I can think of is that it might assist you in trying to play a melody or identifying a note or something?. Most of the time when I need to identify a note I can just hum the note because I'm not quite familiar with it, perhaps as much as you are.

1541 ramboard. Is it for me?.

Please do not suggest modern solutions such as a sd2iec or any other sd card solution as I am not interested. I prefer the authenticity of original hardware.

I only found out what it was about an hour ago so my research on it is very brief. From what I know so far, it can help back up any commercial disks, like fast hack em and maverick and was sold by the same people that made maverick.

A few questions, why should I get a ramboard if both those can already copy commercial disks, is it required for later titles from the late 80s and early 90s?. If so that kind of makes sense as protection schemes would've become more sophisticated compared to what they had in the early 80s. How do I know if the ramboard is required?. Will a copy operation fail without it?. What was the reason you got it and how did it benefit you?.

Power and drive lights sometimes not lighting up when booting and modern replacement cia chips?.

This doesn't seem to affect the system usage, as it still boots up from disk just fine, but sometimes when I do turn it on, the power and drive lights sometimes don't light up properly. I suspect it to be the cia chips, which I'll eventually replace regardless, but rather than get ones pulled from another system, are there any modern replacements that I am not aware of?. Kind of like how the kawari is a modern replacement for the vic chip in the 64, but for the amiga.

How to change dial tone to australian or uk?.

I found a few articles on how to do this with a cisco ata but not a grandstream. The syntax is different and at the moment I am using Google's ai to convert the syntax for me. Is there a better and less embarrassing way of doing it?. I primarily want the Australian dial tones since that is where I live but I also wouldn't mind the uk dial tone either.

Why do you think forcing apologies on students is a healthy way to repair relationships?.

This is not meant to be a provocative question or rage bait, although I wouldn't exactly be surprised if you interpret it as such, given the sub I am in. This is a genuine question.

Say a student says something to another student that they shouldn't've said, so the other student tells you on them and you come over and order the former student to apologize to the latter. Not ask, not suggest, but literally force them to say words that they don't mean.

You do realize that forcing them will mostly just result in them just half arsing the apology, but make their tone sound non sarcastic enough to make you happy?. The student isn't apologizing because he is genuinely sorry, he is apologizing because he doesn't want to be punished, he likely doesn't care that he said what he is apologizing for.

When I was in grade 11, I sent my teacher an email I shouldn't have, and I apologied the next day. The apology was not geniune, I only apologized to make her happy. You want to know what the email said?. "Happy now?" Is what it said, with a submitted assignment sent. I admit I shouldn't have added that message, but she carried on about how she not only felt "disrespected" but also "offended" as if I insulted her, when I didn't. It was a stupid thing to get offended over, which is why my apology, which she wanted, was not genuine.

So what makes you think you can force an apology out of a student and expect it to be genuine?. How do you know the difference between a half arsed and a genuine apology?. How do you know you are not teaching them to half arse an apology to make you happy instead of a genuine apology?. Those are my questions for you.
