Soulful, mystic and creepy please please please

I forgot her name, her music sounded like nothing I ever heard before, though i’ll do my best to describe it. It was spoken word, afrofuturist, ambience, that’s how I would describe it in any situation. It sounded out of this world, it sounded alien. I remember, the song I heard. It talker about being sent to earth, I believe. And a seed and a sun and feelings and emotions. The start of the song was instrumental, her vocals were strung out. There was a a lot of heavy percussion and deep heavy strings. (?) The whole time, listening I could only picture her on a stage, dark with nothing but a spotlight thats showing off her figure. The cover for this song showed a young black woman, possibly childen’s side profile, in a black and white grain. The song was terrifying, visceral but beautiful.

From that era only, please please please!!

For context, i’m a young teenager. A couple nights ago I was asleep and dreamt of flashing images of children getting sexually abused. I’m horrified, I never dealt with abuse first hand. I woke up feeling awful. I had a dream like this, months ago where I had visions/flashing images of war, people crying.. I could feel the world’s pain, It was transferred to me. I didn’t feel that during this though. I felt numb, idle: though after getting myself under control and awake and all I felt disturbed. Am I a bad person?

I have already seen Harmony Korines other films, as well as Mysterious Skin.

In the 90’s swing got a short amount of time in the spotlight, bands like Cherry Poppin’ Daddies and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy become a thing for like a second. The swing revival wasn’t as big as emo or goth or punk or anything like that. I feel like there could be a correlation between the swing revival and steampunk in the 2000’s/2010s.

I remember no lines or choruses, I remember there being an electronic sound. It sounded almost like a ringtone. It went
“Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo do do do do do do do do 2x”
Just before a violin or cello. Something like that came in. It was a drawn out sound, it sounded like this.
“dooooo.. do do doooo..”
The song I’m looking for reminded me of Madonna, it could’ve been one of hers. Though when the violin/cello came in, it triggered memories of Bjork’s Homogenic album or even some of Vespertine, her other album.
The whole thing felt very dreamy like Cocteau Twins or Sade. I’m pretty sure it was from the 90’s or 80’s.

If so, does it depend on different kinds of body wash? How many days will it maintain that soapy taste and would it be safe considering the chemicals in body wash and all?
