What other genres would like to see mixed with Star Wars?

My favorite aspect of Star Wars is that's basically a melting pot of wildly different elements blended together; you can do almost anything in this setting and it could work. So else could they do with SW, even as a short one shot?

Here are some ideas.

Crime Noir: a grim-dark detective like story about a different kind of bounty hunter. Instead of a one-man-army on high adventure he's more like a hard boiled Private Investigator searching the mean streets of some imperial world looking for someone he's been hired to find.

Cyberpunk: In the clone wars, a jedi uses cybernetic implants to slice into CIS systems. During one such operation he is killed by Order 66 while his mind is linked to the computer. Later, when the shut down command is broadcast, the Lucrehulk suddenly powers up and vanishes into deep space, entirely on its own.

Mecha: A deep rivalry between a Jedi and a Sith, but instead of light sabers their weapon of choice are star fighters. They are a pair of ace pilots trying to best each other as they cross paths on the battlefield.

Post-Apocalyptic: Imagine a colony world in a remote part of the galaxy where civilization collapsed and the survivors were trapped. Centuries later the people have regressed to pre-industrial technology, living in the ruins of a more advanced civilization. But what happens when visitors land with a functioning starship?

What happens to coal and oil in a fusion powered economy?

Assuming we do make the switch to safe and reliable fusion power in the near future, what would happen to the oil and coal industries that have been built up over a hundred years now?

Here is my answer; the fossil fuel industry becomes the carbon industry.

People talking about engineering projects like space-elevators and orbital rings say they will be built from carbon-nano materials because of their incredible strength. All well and good but where do you get the carbon to make said materials? Anthracite is almost pure carbon and we already have the equipment and facilities to mine, transport and process it. Maybe I'm over simplifying, but I could see coal burning power plants being torn down and replaced by factories that turn coal into carbon-fiber materials. And the same thing with oil, pound for pound, petroleum has less carbon than coal but it also has hydrogen which could be used for rocket fuel.

Has anyone else considered this question?

I was never a big Harry Potter fan but I still rolled my eyes when I heard they were just re-adapting the novels into a series. At least Rings of Power was a new story set in the same universe. So this is what I think they should have done for an HP series.

The series follows the films' continuity but is set 15 years later when Harry and his friends have graduated and moved on with their lives. The series follows a new generation of students too young to have seen the events of the films but grew up in their aftermath.

Being a series it would have more time for world building but because its not adapting the novels it has more freedom to explore other aspects of the setting. Instead of focusing on one house, like the films did, you could have a main cast drawn from all four houses to show different perspectives.

The 'hero' would probably be from Gryffindor but I like the idea of a heroic character in Slytherin dealing with a bid of prejudice given the houses association with Voldemort. Maybe a subplot about whether Slytherin should be dissolved and the heroes trying to prove it should be preserved?

I'm not sure what the big bad of the series should be. Bringing back Voldemort would be a step backwards, though perhaps one of his followers trying to step into his role could be fun.

Short Version: Whenever I visit his house I feel like I'm on trial, like I have to be careful what I say because he's waiting for a chance to throw it back in my face.

Long Version: Back in 2024 I wanted to go see War of the Rohirrim and I was hoping my brother and his son would come along. I knew it was a long shot, neither of them are as big a movie fan as I am and it's been years since the three of us went to the theater. But what was the worst that could happen? If they said no, I'd just go see it by myself and if they said yes then we'd have a little night out together, like in the old days.

One night I was at his house for dinner I asked my brother and instead of saying no, like I assumed he would, he goes off on this long rant about people ripping off Tolkien's works, and this was the work of talent less hacks were stealing Tolkien's ideas because they never had an original idea of their own.

I was almost laughing because it all seem completely ridiculous. Almost as a joke I said 'next you'll tell me Star Wars has nothing to do with King Arthur.' He got angry and said they completely different. I was laughing when I tried to point out the similarities but he kept interrupting me until he was pounding on the table.

I wanted to tell him to go to hell, I was trying to have some fun with my brother and my nephew and he acted like I had insulted his manhood or something. That might have been the end of it except a week later I was back at his house for Thanksgiving and he was watching Rings of Power. It felt like he was deliberately messing with me because I couldn't see how it was any different than the movie I wanted to see.

Last summer, I realized I had hardly seen him or my nephew since Christmas so I called and asked if I might come over and play Texas Hold 'em. He said yes but when I got there he went off on another rant about how I never played Texas Hold 'em. It stupid because we used to play it all the time, just for fun and that's all I wanted but he wouldn't let me.

I haven't been back since and I don't want to; does that make me the bad guy? Should I try to reconnect with my brother or just accept that the good times are over?

Thanks, in advance.
