Simulate active PS+? - BG3 LAN game only with PS+ Account

Very specific question I know but maybe someone else has ran into the same problem

I want to play BG3 together with my gf without having to use splitscreen or taking turns and I thought "oh yeah great, I can just run the game on my ps5 and on my PC, connect the ps5 to PC via local network and be happy"

Yeah fuck that, I need an Playstation account, possibly even with ps+ active

Is there any way to make the console think I HAVE ps+ just for the sake of being able to play in my local network?

I swear I've expected a lot of shit from Sony but needing an account for LOCAL MULTIPLAYER is beyond comprehension to me

Compressing gamefiles - compression tool?

So of course I know of WinRAR and 7zip, after some research I came to find out about NanaZIP and PeaZIP but I couldn't really find out which of those are really the best when it comes to just compression if we leave out time as a factor - as long as it's not too slow at least

I want to save some of my favorite Steam Games with a Steam Emulator and since I don't intend on really using them actively and want to just preserve them, I can just put them into some heavily compressed format to save as much space as possible.. Now the question is, what format/software is what I am searching for?

Games "jittering" on Kstuff but not Kstuff lite dr

I'm on 5.10 and I thought that Kstuff was the way to go for me but nope, the games run horribly on Kstuff

I just switched to Kstuff lite dr and all of a sudden its buttery smooth

Any reason for this? Is Kstuff just for higher fw or is it something else that's causing this? Does SM+ just aork better together wirh Kstuff dr?

5.10 y2jb games don't show up

Using Y2JB everything works, I got kstuff up and running, as well as payloadmanager and nanodns.. Shadowmount plus doesn't recognize/show Demon's Souls which I put into data/homebrew - same thing with itemzflow or game compressor

WTF am I doing wrong?

File is in ffpfsc as that's basically the only way I can properly transfer stuff to my ps5 right now..
What am I missing? Shadowmount should be able to recognize ffpfsc files?

5.10 setup help

I've been sitting at my desk/in front of my TV for literally 5 hours now and I'm not getting stuff to work
Since I'm interested in Linux, I want to use UTMX to JB and I got far enough to actually get the JB running - now for the first problem: I didn't manage to change the DNS to manual since it told me my ISP was blocking it
Then I went on the UTMX site manually, used idlesauce's UTMX and got confused as to where Linux was - just a few minutes ago I realized I had to use Zeco UTMX for Linux

Now for the next problem: To get to Zeco UTMX I have to have the DNS settings working

All the recent videos or posts I have seen about utility apps require elfArsenal which I for the life of me can't get to run because I simply don't understand the github pages

Can someone please tell me what homebrew softwares I actually need to

  1. run ps5 games
  2. run ps4 games
  3. have the ability to boot into linux

I feel incredibly stupid because I quite frankly don't understand anything I am seeing here on the wiki or on github and I would be so incredibly happy if anyone could help me get things set up properly.

2460MB/s external fast enough?

I don't want to buy an external SSD since it's just so damn expensive and with the possibility of FPKG alternative coming I also don't need too much external Storage

I'm contemplating on buying the 5tb SeaGate PS4/PS5 licensed external Hard Drive because it says it can run PS4 Games externally and thus I am assuming it sill also work with a JB PS5

Now the thing:

Is this marketing and running it off the HDD actually doesn't work, crashes, takes literal minutes to load or is it just slower than an SSD - so for example instead of 5-10 seconds of loading it's more like 30 seconds

Simply put: Would it work and if so, how slow/fast? edit: appareantly Amazon is trolling me and the drive actually is limited to 130MB/s

How long for your first Survivor playthrough? -should I play Hunter, wait for Downpour sale or get some mods now?

I've just finished Rain World and I want more - 21 hours on Steam, 3 times restarted, 12 hours for the actual playthrough from start to finish

I will for sure get Downpour and probably The Watcher as well once it hits a sale buut until then I need something to do xD

I don't know if I will enjoy getting the passages so I would probably not focus on that but I'm sure there's some other echoes that I haven't found

I'm unsure if I wanna go around collecting the unlocks for custom mode or whatever it is, same thing with the colored pearls (tho that I might genuinely want to do for the loore) - is it worth it or is that something you do after you've done absolutely everything else?

So how different is Hunter to Survivor when it comes to story, environment etc.?

Are there cool mods you can recommend? What would you advise me to do next?

List of Games you can't/shouldn't run internally?

Title

I'm planning to use the M2 as dedicated Linux drive and don't really see a reason to buy an external drive for the PS5 Games unless there's a lot of games I can't run internally

I might get the (or a) SeaGate external drive but yeah

Especially interesting are the PS5 and PS4 exclusives since the rest I can get running on my PC or the Linux partition

I know Death Stranding 2 shouldn't be run internally for example

Does it get easier towards the end or did I get better?

I've been 12 hours in on my run, have restarted three times before and gotten REALLY mad in between (Steam Deck sucks, screen is so smol)

Up until Garbage Wastes or Shoreline it was a total struggle to even get anywhere, I had to look up the way several times and died probably around 20-40 times per region

Then I got to citadel where I also looked up the way cuz it pissed me off and from then on it was kind of a breeze, even without any real external sources

I still die but the deaths don't feel as impactful, I'm back to where I was before within literally two minutes.. I still only have killed one singular lizard by throwing a rock at it and making it fall to the void, that's about the only creature I have even killed thus far

The Leg was very fun, 5P was annoying at parts, I probably would've enjoyed the wall had I climbed up and not just dropped down from the top and oh boy, Chimney Canopy was such an amazing experience - once I found out through reddit that you can grab the flying fatties, Sky Islands was also very cool

Now I'm in Farm Arrays, have gotten The Monk passage and am trying to work towards The Hunter passage whilst obviously getting towards the end

I feel like enemies aren't swarming me as much anymore, three lizards on my screen don't immediately result in death and vultures also didn't kill me in the last 6-7 hours of gameplay - this for sure is just me getting better

I still kinda feel like the later areas are a little easier than Garbage Wastes or Industrial Complex

What do you think? - Please only go into detail about Exterior, Chimey, GW, Shoreline, Sky Islands, Outskirts, 5P, Citadel, Farm and IC and obviously nothing about endings

I haven't been invested in a game this much since last year when I played Animal Well and in 2024 when I played Darkwood

First time getting to the thing after 5P - what it actually do?

Tried to keep my title vague so no one gets spoiled but people kinda understand what I mean
I'm talking about Six Grains of Gravel - I finally reached them but I honetly am really confused as to what happened
Besides them saying they know a way out (I think?), basically nothing was said and then I got tp'd back to the last shelter I used which was right in front of the gate to Exterior

Why the hell did I get teleported back and what even happened there.. It almost feels like an ending which I know can't be right because I haven't done what 5P told me to do

Maybe I missed something, it's 4am and I sweating my balls off here because of damn summer heat

Just in case any of the people read this who helped me a little with getting through Shaded Citadel yesterday - YUP I MADE IT THROUGH THIS HELLHOLE CALLED FIVE PEBBLES WOOOHOOO (I'm starting to REALLY dig this game)

Backporting for 5.50-6.50 + PS4 compatibility?

I'm a bit scared I overlooked something but I'm gonna ask anyways since I didn't find a real answer to my question
I've found a PS5 still in original packaging for 540€ that is between 5.50 and 6.50, depending on how lucky I get (Fat GoW Bundle from 2022) and am now wondering about the state backporting to any of the old firmwares.. Additionally I'm wondering how it works with PS4 games since from what I understood, not all work on all firmwares

I've watched the newest video by Modded Warfare but that didn't really go deeper into Firmware stuff, he just mentioned that there's a backport for RE9 for FW 4.xx but even there I don't know if I could just use this backport on a 5.xx or 6.xx or not

Is this Firmware worth it for someone who just wants to play game dumps on a ps5 (and possibly use it as a Steam Machine)?

Sorry if any of this has already been asked, thanks for the replies!

"Budget" DAP + Headphones recommendation - touch screen, < 300€?

Short version/just my question:
Is the FiiO SnowSky DISC worth it as a starting point and what IEMs should I go with? I would like to keep it at 300€ or maybe just slightly above that but definitely no more than 350€ - if not, what should I look for/got any alternatives, especially with IEMs since I only had shitty ones with horrible cables that died within weeks or at some point started getting sticky because of rubber

I would like to have a DAP that is capable of playing flac (and probably other lossless formats too) that is not like a mini-phone (seen some with spotify installed etc.) .. Just a way to play downloaded music

The SnowSky DISC is interesting due to touchscreen and 4.4mm which I assume allows for better quality audio
Technically the Ipod is interesting too due to the experience/UI but I don't know if just regular 3.5mm cables really go well for lossless music

I know this is kinda an all in one question, I hope I don't have unrealistic expectations regarding price but I hope you can help me :D

I recently started just getting off my phone and my PC more/trying to find ways - I got a 3DS, started to work on removing Spotify from my life, am basically just using my phone for music, a few games, messaging and YouTube
Now here comes the problem: I don't like using my phone for music, the only thing I like is the convenience of typing in a search bar and immediately finding whatever song I downloaded in my library.. The sound quality sucks, especially after listening to flac files on my DT770 Pro on my PC and listening to Vinyl on a good record player

Sorry that this is all a bit messy, I am kind of tired and am trying to keep things brief whilst also explaining my situation for those who are interested in it

Games only run after I launched with bionic and glibc - config tips for Andreno 722

(phone specs below)

I tried getting Hollow Knight, Tactical Breach Wizards and Rain World to run. Just went for the known configs and launched the games - blackscreen

I then switched to glibc since I heard that bionic is what google made specifically for android - I have disabled/uninstalled quite a few google services from my phone so I thought that might be the reason (tho it wouldn't make much sense)

glibc just crashed the games

I switched back to bionic and there it is, the game runs.. Idk how smooth but it runs.. It worked like that for ALL of them

I used proton 10 or proton 9, depending on the Game

I use a Nothing 4(a) Pro (I'm just copy pasting the specs since I got no clue about phone specs)

Chipset: Qualcomm SM7750-AB Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 (4 nm)

CPU: Octa-core (1x2.8 GHz Cortex-720 & 4x2.4 GHz Cortex-720 & 3x1.8 GHz Cortex-520)

GPU: Adreno 722

RAM: 12GB, 3750mHz

Now I wanna know if there's some problem, if someone has any idea WHY I have to do what I have to do and at best some tips what settings I should use since I feel like no one has my phone or even similar specs. I'm not asking for specific Game settings but rather a general idea what to play around with - I mostly intend on playing 2D/sidescroller if that is of relevance

Thank's yall!

Recommend some cheap Gabber/Acid Techno/Trance/Jungle/generally Techno

As long as it's not super experimental I'll probably like it.. I didn't live when DJ'ing was still being done with records so I didn't even think about Techno/DnB records existing but here I am

I will probably go to a big thrift store soon so if you had any recommendations on what to look for that is rather cheap (so 5-10€ max at best) I'd be very happy!

If that makes a difference for availability, I am from Europe and more specifically from Germany

Anything like La-Mulana or Destiny raids

I just love how cryptic it is but once you realize how it works you have this "ohhhh so that's it" moment

I remember my first playthrough of La-Mulana being an absolute blast, if we leave out shitty movement/bosses - the puzzles were so incredibly fun, tho I did go with guides whenever I got annoyed since I am impatient and don't want to spend too much time on a singular puzzle

Destiny raids might be a stretch, I've already looked and saw no one post about them.. I've done/tried several raids on day one so no one had a clue what was going on - besides choosing strategies for the whole team, thinking what weapons/builds to use for maximum damage etc. you also just generally had the puzzles.. Usually it was rather obvious what was of relevance/what could be interacted with and it was a question of how the different parts interacted with each other - I highly doubt there is a game that can be compared to Destiny, it's one of a kind, but I bet there's games that have similar way of handling puzzles

Here to Games I played (or at least own) that somewhat feel or seem close or have been compared to either game I mentioned:

Tunic

(Fez)

La-Mulana

La-Mulana 2

Animal Well

(Blue Prince)

(Outer Wilds)

(Environmental Station Alpha)

If it has story that goes beyond "Sorry Mario, your princess is in another castle" that would make it even better - would also be great if it wasn't the sort of game where you have to have literally 2 brains and all of Wikipedia downloaded in your mind

Any tips on getting into love2d/gamedev?

I'm just about to graduate and want to use the last few basically completely free months to do something fun but useful - my main subject in school was IT so I already have a good baseline knowledge in OOP I would say.. At least good enough to just hop into something and then read something online when I hit a wall

I've touched both godot and love2d several times but that was 2 years ago and I didn't really get programming as much as I do now - godot was kind of annoying to me since it felt so puzzle-ish to me so I tried love2d but lost motivation quickly

I struggle from the "but that has already been done" mindset but I obviously have to start with something easy to understand everything and then possibly start into something harder/more creative.

I also dislike blindly following a tutorial on youtube since I don't feel like I'm learning anything.

Do you have any tips, maybe as to what to do first or any general tips that might not be obvious?

Thank you in advance!

Bottom screen partially yellow

A few months ago I disassembled my 3DS XL to clean the cartridge slot - after I reassembled it the bottom screen looked like this

If the whole bottom screen shows something colored, the whole display turns yellow-ish and it basically just has a tint (that I can't really do anything about even with modded settings)

If it's white like on the picture it's only partially yellow but it changes depending on what actually is on the screen.. Sometimes half of it is yellow, sometimes just 1/5 and sometikes 3/4

Any idea what causes this? Do I just get a bottom screen replacement and call it a day?

Your DIY cleaning solutions for Ultrasonic

I just ordered an Ultrasonic cleaner since I'm gonna need to clean roughly 500 records from my parents with dust literally stuck to them so I can't just brush it off - just for the convenience

What are your cleaning solutions and what do you avoid for what reasons?
I have 70% IPA at home and it's very cheap to get distilled water - I'm thinking about just going with distilled water for the first test and see the results because I've seen people say IPA is bad and then there's people who said that IPA should only be used with 99%.. People can't agree here as always

If you have some niche but rather affordable things you add to your cleaning recipe then I'd be happy to hear about them!

So I got to know Breakcore or at least what's being called Breakcore on Social Media with Sewerslut, moved on pretty quickly to artists like usedcvnt, 68+1, inverted variable and a few other ones (favorite song being "what we did in the desert" but I'm unsure if that even is breakcore in the slightest, probably more liquid dnb)

My question now is wether or not this is breakcore - I read that as of now there's a lack for a better word and kind of always a mix between jungle, breakcore, liquid dnb - because if it is, give me more of it, if it is not, wtf do I have to look for?

Given the Artists I like, do you have recommendations for me, be it old or new, even just singular songs..

My only request for it would be to be somewhat approachable but I'm open for older stuff
