I see various info about what they are, as different companies load different things obviously. The only common thing is that it usually has like a metal powder in it? I think the shot is contained in the powder, or I have seen mention of slugs made of polymer with the shot in it, that breaks up on impact?
wanted to get the guitars I made in HS off the floor and don’t like dusting. Buying 2 boxes wouldve been 3-400 so I made my own. I am not a woodworker, I only took the shop classes in school.
$30 for (I believe) 3 boards of red grandis from my local hardwood suppliers discount bucket.
$10 for 2 2x6 from HD
$20 For the picture frame I used as the door
$3-40 for two boxes of GRK screws
$2-3 for OSB from discount cart at HD
$20 for latches and hinge
I would be lying if I said I wasn’t worried about it randomly breaking, but the hardwood is like 3/4, the softwood is 2, and I used about a billion screws. the screws holding the plywood on are 2” and all others are 3 1/8. Its held by French Cleat and the cleat is screwed into a stud.
there are obvious issues upon close inspection. I’m quite certain the plywood is square and confirmed BT the pictures, the box frame is wack. dont know how I fucked that. some issues were me being out of practice, some were the equipment (was borrowing a school shop, jointer is about 4ft from planer so couldn’t joint some pieces. it’s my understanding to square up wood first? So plane, joint, and then take off edge with table saw? Table saw had no outfeed so long pieces were sketchy, wouldnt have done it if it wasn’t a sawstop. I probably should have done miters instead of butt joints, don’t know why I didn’t. one piece of wood had a weird spot that kept blowing out bad on planer. and I fucked up somewhere so each piece was a different width, requiring the hand plane since the table saw fence seemed crooked. admittedly the plane was amazing somehow. you can also see a couple acres peeking out either the side or through a knot hole.
I could make it a lot better if I did another. This is a practical build more than pretty, but I still might paint it or something. I’ll probably add cork board to display pins.
I shoot regular guns but have been looking at airsoft as a potential to not only practice a bit but also scratch the itch. While looking at gear and such I checked out the local scene and was kind of shocked.
From what I can observe, from the greater Tacoma to Seattle area (or what I consider it), there is precisely one airsoft shop, and ZERO full time Airsoft facilities. There are at most 3 or 4 occasional sources to play, such as TAAGS which meets once a month and a couple paintball places which are open for Airsoft somewhat.
I think that Airsoft is in somewhat of a slump compared to the past, like paintball, so did this used to be bigger around here and died off? Was it never big? I can understand more rural areas being dry, but there’s like 4 million people here. Why has Airsoft just completely dodged Seattle?
Trying to buy a somewhat rare pistol that ships with proprietary 18 round magazines. From a smaller shop I can just ask for the mags to be sent elsewhere, or possibly for the dealer to convert the magazines to 10rds before shipment. But larger companies its harder to get that kind of service. There are middleman services but they are a bit pricey.
So I figured why not just have family in a free state buy the pistol themselves, (would me purchasing but putting their name for pickup throw alarms?) do the magazine conversion/hold it till i visit next to do myself, and then sell it to me by sending to an FFL here where I do the final transfer. In my mind there is nothing wrong but the fact there is a stop before i actually get it seems like it might be off. The gun is legal feature-wise except for the magazines.
I have been following the truck for a few years now and am really excited. As much as I have faith I want to at least test drive one first. I’m not ready to put 300 down without even seeing one in person. They are supposed to start production in decent quantities starting Q3-4 this year, and fully sometime next. Have they given out estimates to how long it’ll take to get through pre orders?

Went to a friends house for the 4th and they have a coleman mini bike. I of course rode it. I’ve done so years prior with no accidents. This time I went to stand while riding, and I think when I changed my hand position I came off the throttle a bit, and then since I wasn’t sitting the balance was off, and down I went.
i have to admit I imagine myseld having a hard time with a real motorcycle. I am very comfortable on mountain bikes, and pretty good on Lime mopeds. I’m just not used to having so much torque, and having it lose speed so quickly if you come off the throttle. I know this would be taught in class, but just curious for advice on power control.
I know that it sort of defeats the purpose, but my family is very allergic to bees. I tend to leave them alone and can be comfortable, but my SO gets super nervous. It’s hard enough trying to convince to ditch grass, but I’m looking for alternatives to grass that aren’t water thirsty, or flower. at the entrance to my house these damselflies are SWARMING. In similar numbers to bees with a lot of flowers around. In particular they just hug the wall, so many they even get in my garage on the other side of the wall and die. Ive read they like water, but we have no water feature or pond or nothing. Is there a hidden puddle they are at, or could it be something else?
I had told myself that when I moved I would get a robot vacuum. while in target today they had a 205 for $250 off, down to $199. I have it ready for pickup but havent grabbed it yet.
When I looked it up to see function and stuff the official video mentioned an app which I’m not huge on, especially since the parent company is in not the best spot rn. I’m not really ready to drop 500+ on a vacuum so I like this deal but is it worth it even at the price I have?
If not I’m open to suggestions. I have hard floors, no pets (right now). The biggest things for me is I want lidar at most cause I’m just suspicious of a camera (I have a phone case that blocks them, so it’s not hypocritical), and I dislike any AI bullshit and internet/ software tethers. If it has an app i can kinda live with it, that connects via bluetooth or something. basically if the company dies I don’t want a brick and I want the ability to use it if the internet goes out. I want one that’s ”stupid” or at the very least smart but self contained.
I have Lee and RCBS dies. I make sure to keep them coated in a rust protectant, they stay inside, I even have camphor in the drawers too. but the RCBS always likes to get little flecks of rust, and the Lee is pretty bad, Ive found a lot of lees stuff does. do any companies use a more resistant steel? how much of a dork would I be if I got dies titanium nitrated? (Increases lubricity too)
