Did Tolstoy regard moral virtues as more important than religion?

Honestly, Tolstoy is my favorite Russian writer, and I love his works. However, as far as I understand, he was excommunicated by the Church, apparently because of his views on morality and virtue.

How exactly do Alteration-type spells work?

Recently, while finishing the DB questline, I noticed something. There was a Potion of Speechcraft in the Emperor’s quarters. Whether or not he actually used it aside, what do potions and spells like these actually look like to an outside observer? Or how do they appear to the people who drink/use them?

What is the Sindhi people’s perspective on religion?

Honestly, I don’t know much about Pakistan, but I’m aware of my fellow believers who live there. However, there’s something I’m curious about: What is the Sindhi people’s perspective on religion? I imagine that when it comes to religion, things can get quite complicated in India, but honestly, my knowledge of history is limited, so I can’t really say for sure.

How reliable are the Hadiths?

I hope this question doesn’t bother anyone, since I understand it’s asked quite frequently. As far as I understand, Joshua Little is often cited as an example in discussions on this topic, but what I don’t quite understand is whether he concluded that all hadiths are false, or whether he simply argued that they should be approached with skepticism.

How reliable are hadiths?

I hope this question doesn’t offend anyone, but I’m curious to hear the different perspectives on this subject. As I understand it, Joshua Little argued that hadiths are unreliable, but I don’t think he himself is a revisionist.

Who was Maria the Copt in history?

It appears that there are differing views regarding her historical status. Some sources describe her as a concubine, while others identify her as a wife. There are also claims that she may not have existed as a historical figure. Who was she, historically?

Did Christianity contribute to the abolition of slavery in the Roman Empire?

To be more specific, I'm referring to the Western Roman Empire between the 3rd and 7th centuries. As far as I know, one reason slavery became much less significant in the Middle Ages was that the Church held that Christians should not be enslaved. Did this idea already exist among Christian Romans?

We know that the elves lived in Skyrim, but as far as I know, the Reachfolk were also living in the Reach alongside them. Could it be that the Nedes lived in the rest of Skyrim?

Did a distinct Arab identity exist among the pre-Islamic Arabs?

I have been reading some older historical studies that describe the pre-Islamic Arabs as possessing a relatively unified culture. However, given the prominence of tribal affiliations during that period, did people primarily identify themselves as members of an Arab identity, or did tribal loyalties supersede any broader sense of being Arab? In other words, did they regard themselves as Arabs, or was their primary identity rooted in their individual tribes?

İmparator 4. Charles iyi bir hükümdar mıydı?

Efenim belki biliyorsunuzdur.

Could you recommend a mod with an atmosphere similar to The Road?

By The Road, I mean Cormac McCarthy's novel. Personally, I think New Vegas is a great fit for that kind of atmosphere, especially since Lonesome Road is (at least in my opinion) a pretty unsettling experience on its own. I should also mention that I'm asking because I'd like to make the game more challenging.

I am not very familiar with this topic, but I have encountered claims that early Islamic scholars, particularly the authors of sīra literature, believed that prophets were capable of making mistakes. To what extent is this claim historically accurate?
