So today I learned there is a bug where the new function where you can leave message to Jackie doesn't work properly if Misty is in locked up condition, and the solution is to go talk to her.

I find that kind of poetic.

As the title says. It used to just say "sign in to confirm you are not a bot" or "the uploader has not made this video avvailable in your country" or similar, but it now just says unavailable with no description.

It is not the usual one with grey text on black screen, it is one with purple/rainbow trim around the video frame.

I know this is 100% IP blocking because if I just use another VPN it just lets me view it without an issue, and I get blocked on the other address, even after nuking all the cookies (I use mullvad) Saying that it blocked a user because of potential abuse or automation is somewhat valid, but saying something that is there is unavailable is straight up a lie.

Now, I wouldn't be using a regular browser to watch video if Freetube did work fine but it has been having issues with SABR request as of late, (I am one latest .52, still unusable)

Has anyone experienced this change in display? I frankly don't know what the point is, like what does it accomplish? If they want user to not use VPN, it should say so - "please disconnect VPN or proxy".

What it does
Uses primarily Musicbrainz API, (and supplementary legacy iTunes API) to fetch releases and let you browse, and sort releases. It helps you stay up to date with new and past releases without accounts.

What it is not
It does not have any download functions. It is not a streaming app.
It is also not a library or metadata management app for your local files.
It is meant to not change or replace how people's own listening or how they manage their music library, but merely to assist it.

Why I made it
I have been looking for an easy and reliable way to track new releases and quickly check past releases for a given artist for years. I don't like some random app that might turn into subscription based model any day. About half a year ago, I stumbled upon the original project by Katemtiness. It seemed to lack some functions that I deemed necessary for how I think it was meant to be used.
I have been usnig it to track releases and it has worked well.

More recently I had more time on my hands, so I decided to fork it and do a complete overhaul. from adding entirely new source to get around the fact some artists that do not have MB entry, or said MB page is no longer maintained. so I implemented iTunes legacy API support to fill the gap. It also helps to catch a release days before it finally gets on MB.

... anyway, I want to hear some feedback, and to see if there is a demand for such software. I am still working on it, so I would love to hear suggestions and such.

Disclosure on LLM use: The original project was co-authored with Claude, and my fork contains bugfixes and feature additions assisted by Qwen3.6.

I know I'm like a 2 years late but they never bothered to change exit turret from F.
volatol has same issue, but you don't have to exit it because you are always doing it with 2 people (the SAM launcher mission). with Titan tho, you need to constantly do this and you will at some point jump off the plane

Yet I see barely anyone talking about this. Why? Been thinking about it a while.

So I use MB API to track new official releases, but today I was confused when I found duplicate entries in Chinese, for some reason. I went to check on it but it's not a separate regional release, link just leads to Spotify. they also did not add any albm artwork or anything like that either, and at least for one artist someone edited their entire entry by changing the entries that were previously in its place.

This is like the first time I've seen something like this. has anyone seen something like this? From the artist name to album to track titles everything is translated, not original.

Is this supposed to happen? Now I need to go to my db and delete these entries manually and until they are removed from the website I can't use the tool.

The release group is not grouped together with other entries so it has different MBID, so it shows up as a different release group.
release xml and json is the same, barcode is just reuse of UK release, date is also the same.
it has no other tags.

so I have recently discovered sites like apple music have GIF cover, and it looks hella cool
and I was wondering if there is a way to do it?

I know a few albums that has it but I only use the static cover, and I know MB doesn't support it so it's not like I can enjoy it unless I use something like MPV but ...

So I've been having this bug for last 2 weeks or so, whenever I try to playlist and get prompted to complete captcha, Before I can even begin to click on captcha, it seems next video tries to play since the original video would not play.

The bug doesn't end there, because the captcha's floating window stays but actual captcha session has been terminated, you are not able to interact with any part of the site at all. So you have to close out and then try again.

The issue can be mitigated if you go and manually select the video instead of finding it from playlist, but that is rather inconvenient.

I can get this bug to reproduce on firefox based browsers. And yes, I did do some tests with clean new profiles too.

Has anyone had this bug, or is it just me?
