Long time Ratchet fan here, as far back as the original game on PS2 (and demo discs even before that). When Ranger Rumble got announced, I had a pretty frustrated groan that the first title we were getting since 2021 was a mobile game, but I was willing to give it a shot. Lo and behold, it dropped today in the UK, and I downloaded it and gave it a shot, and it’s actually pretty fun to play. It’s not a serious competitive shooter or anything, but there’s a lot of cool unique designs, the gameplay loop is pretty solid, and the matches are bite-sized enough to make losses not feel too serious.

I’m not quite sure how I feel about monetization yet. Costumes seem really grindy, and locking certain weapons behind characters in drops is rather iffy, but even with just Chip so far, I’m having a lot of fun mixing his Tesla Claw and Agents of Doom to be a close-quarters menace. Could be the honeymoon period speaking, but I’m really enjoying it so far. Ratchet is apparently being added as a limited time character too, so I’m interested to see how he’ll play.

Thought I'd drop this as a quick tip for anyone rushing to finish masteries before the season ends. There's a very easy strat to mastery and extract fast, as long as you don't care about finishing games out.

Step 1: Load into Battle Royale of your choice.

Step 2: Drop at Sunken Shores. The reason you want to drop here is there's a near-guaranteed drop for the Web-Shooters on the roof of the blue house here, allowing you very fast traversal. It also doesn't have many dropping here, letting you get a decent set-up.

Step 3: Run to the orange house across from the blue house - there's sometimes a Sprite Chest up here in the attic if you want to farm for higher rarity sprites.

Step 4: Use the Web-Shooters to go to Sinister Strip, and check if John Wick's dog is there. If it is, the game spawns a barrage of enemies in protect him. The game counts ALL of these enemies as enemy opponents/players, and gives you a massive XP payout for killing all of them. You should be able to pretty much jump a sprite from Level 1 up to max on a Mastery Monday.

Step 4.1: (If they weren't at Sinister Strip) - you can either reset by going back to lobby (extract your sprite first of course), or use the Web-Shooters to go to Battlewood's sewers and check if the dog is there, as that's the secondary spawn location.

Step 5: Simply extract your sprite via a portable extractor, or a regular extraction.
