Sony TV-920U

This is my space age Sony TV-920U. I believe it is from 1968. It’s certainly old, but still powers on without a problem! If anyone knows anything about this set, please share!

My new Olivetti Lettera 32!

It’s from about 1964, and just after Olivetti acquired Underwood, resulting in the dual branding on this one. It’s from the plant in Barcelona, Spain.

These two were bundled at a HomeGoods of all places!

I’d consider this a score! Queer Judson by Joseph C. Lincoln 1925 printing, and A Popular: Life Of George Fox 1876 printing. Both seem good condition for their age, and at a HomeGoods you would never expect to find something like this! It seems like it was from some company re-selling old discarded books. The Life of George Fox has a fountain pen autograph from being acquired by a previous owner, on November 30, 1907.

What a great game.

I finally beat it. Rockstar did such an amazing job. The game was so well developed and just overall 6 wanted stars in my opinion. I would’ve never expected (SPOILER) > >!the betrayal at the end and the inclusion of the Mafia.!<

Great job Rockstar.

Help, please.

So I was working on my iMac G3 with a problem it previously had on my bed. I know my bed isn’t the most ideal place to do this but I didn’t want to crack the bezel, and the bed was a good place to prevent that from happening as my desk was not only messy but the repair was something quick and easy and would’ve taken 5 minutes. Long story short my 5 year old brother barges into my room to watch his brainrotted YouTube videos and kicks the 40 lb computer off the bed (accidentally, but I’m really angry) so it ruined the bezel anyway and now I need to buy a new one. BUT this black part with a small coil on it under the yoke of the tube ended up falling off its mount I believe and I don’t know if it’s a big deal or how to fix it. Please help. I don’t want to kill myself because of this tube, so I need to discharge it of course, but I also don’t want to remove the tube. I just really don’t want to ruin it. It’s my most prized item.

Gave my N64 a new shell!

I got this NTSC -J N64 as a Christmas gift 2 years ago and it was the coolest gift I’ve ever gotten. However it unfortunately the original charcoal shell was pretty damaged, with a few broken vents and numerous scuffs, as well as a damaged clip for the memory expansion. I decided that since it’s a Japanese console, I’ll re-shell it with a Japanese shell! I ended up finding a really good condition Clear Blue/White shell, and I am happy to say I’m impressed!

Brother damaged my iMac

So today I was working on repairing something small on my iMac G3. It is a 25 year old computer and probably my favorite thing that I own. While I left the computer on my bed for the glue to dry on the part I was repairing, my 5 year old brother comes into MY ROOM to watch YouTube on MY TV when he could do the exact same thing on his Nintendo switch. So he comes into my room after I told him not to, jumps onto the bed, and PUSHES THE COMPUTER OFF (accidentally). Now there’s cracked/crumbled plastic all over the bezel and inside the computer, and the bezel costs between $125 and $200 to replace. And by the way the computer was put on the bed because putting it on a hard surface can cause the bezel to crack which happened anyway. And I get it was an accident but come on, really?

Edit: now the degauss coil doesn’t work properly. Awesome.

Samsung DVD-VR375 remote troubleshooting

Hey all,

So I have my Samsung DVD-VCR Combo unit DVD-VR375. The actual unit itself works without a problem and is in near mint condition. I have the original remote for it (00084A) and it just will not work at all. It does absolutely nothing. There was like some sticky clear residue from accumulated hand oils and other gross stuff all over the internal contacts, so I cleaned it thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol removing all of the gunk. Cleaned almost until it looked brand new from the inside. I used 70%, waited until dry, and even tried 6 different batteries that all worked in other remotes. I scrubbed the solder areas lightly with a toothbrush and it just still remains unresponsive. Can someone help me? What’s wrong with it? I don’t see any leaked capacitor or something along that line, but it just does absolutely nothing. Any answers appreciated!

Finally! From Windows 10 to Windows XP

So yesterday, I was given this Dell Latitude D630. The person who gave it to me had Windows 10 installed on it, which I found a bit weird. So I installed XP and it ran beautifully! Unfortunately it took 7 hours because 6 of those hours I spent on trying to fix a nonexistent problem. I had initially thought that the graphics driver was not installed, and I searched and searched for a download for the Intel Graphics accelerator but couldn’t find it. 5 hours later, I realized the problem had fixed itself when I installed the chipsets. I also needed to adjust the resolution, which the chipsets did as well.
