Rebs: Pierre had entire studio start early development simultaneously for H2/3 Remakes, Halo 7, and a spinoff campaign based on a Halo novel. Adapting halo novels into games that would be released between the halo trilogy remakes. First Strike spinoff before H2 Remake was confirmed by 3 sources.

First strike game was meant to be a small project that could be developed and released quickly. Plan was to only include 5 or so campaign missions and a firefight mode and release it next year. Halo 7 and H2 remake were far from release.

Last week before layoffs, Halo Studios presented a concept for Halo 7 to Matt Booty and Xbox executives that included campaign, PvP, PvE, and Forge on day one of release. Halo 7 was years away from release. 30 employees left at Halo Studios, including Pierre who is still in charge and a mix of employees from his inner circle (engineers, artists, designers, support). Pierre wants to find a way to deliver smaller halo projects and outsource development for remakes.

Matt Booty allowed Pierre to choose which employees to keep. Unlikely that Microsoft or Activision would approve Pierre’s project plans. He wants to use AI to deliver smaller halo projects and try to get resources to outsource development for the remakes. I’ve heard Activision wants nothing to do with Pierre.”

“Why is Matt Booty supporting and enabling Pierre? Why is there no accountability for Matt? Matt also took no accountability for Infinite’s failures, but the studio leadership did”.

"Effective immediately, all internal projects at Halo Studios have been shelved

This includes -

- Halo 2 & 3 remakes

- Halo 7

- Any huge modes planned for it

Activision will be taking over with a new studio that decides what stays, and what goes with a new Halo title."

For anyone going.

I was skeptical earlier, but looking at it more..

Crystal Spotlight handles SW's videos (Rob Skarin's a moderator on the subreddit) and they usually do their own in house animation so wonder if they'll clarify.
