How do I take precautions against insects?

I am being bitten by something that isnt a mosquito because I have bites on my feet enough though I wear shoes when I am outside, it is very itchy and red, what insect could it be and what habits can I implement to stop it? Some thai friends says that it could be ants inside my shoes.

How dangerous are the dogs in thailand?

Everytime I go on a walk and pass wild dogs, they often bark and sometimes even approach quite closely in groups, how often do people get bitten by dogs in Thailand? How much of that is just harmless territorial behaviour?

How to Thai's generally feel towards eachother?

Been in hua hin for a few days, my father is married to a Thai women and I am pretty fascinated by what I have noticed here. I have lived in England my whole life so the differences in culture are very clear to see.

Whenever I see my father's wife interacting with other Thai people, it's like they have known eachother for years, I don't understand the language but people here get involved in long conversations constantly, always seem eager to help eachother out and go above and beyond for eachother, whether it's for asking directions, information about anything, even just banter, Thai people laugh with total strangers like it's second nature and seem to have zero social anxiety or aprehension about eachother.

In the UK, people are wary of eachother and treat every new person they meet as a seperate, completely new entity, or they can be quite performative and inauthetic, but thai people just feel like they see eachother as one big family or something, this is of course from an ignorant outside intuition that I'm sure is more complex. Even with the way people run their small business's, it feels like there is no heirarchy of respect towards eachother, they would treat a cashier at a 7/11 the same as someone they know very well. it seems like everything is made by the people, for the people, and everything feels very sincere and warm.

Are there any native Thai's here that can offer some insight into this subject? How much of my impression is true and what other nuances are there to the general Thai collective relationship?

Ever heard of Liverum?

Anyone listen to this band? They are fairly unknown from what I understand, think "post Gojira" or something, lots of groove, but they reaaally know how to loop a good riff and they offer a very specific vibe, very organic and has a strong feeling of nature.

Also they are produced by the same engineer that mixed Obscure Sphinx's Epitaphs.

Favourite aggressive blackgaze albums?

Hey all, going on a long trip out of europe tomorrow and want to check out some new bands, I just wanna mention that I am not a big fan of bands like lantlos, møl, deafhaven, but I really like bands like gaerea, der weg einer freiheit, I guess the main difference between the first group and the second is they lean closer to aggressive black metal with gaze elements.

Any suggestions that fits this criteria?

Thanks!

Which 2d soulslikes do you recommend?

Im going away for 3 weeks to see family and I am bring my laptop, it has an intel core i5 7th gen, 16gb ram.

I tried thymesia on the laptop but it lags a lot, lords of the fallen doesnt even open lol, so I figured that 2d games might be the only way to go, since I tried nine sols just now and seems to work great. I also think nine sols feels really interesting.

What other 2d souls likes do you recommend that are not heavy to run, and dont have that metroidvania type crazy level design? I want something moderately linear, hollowknight was a bit too much in confusing level design, even though I did enjoy it quite a lot.

Any of these lights a cause for concern?

Any of these 4 lights a cause for concern? They are only on at the half way ignition, when full ignition only the top right light stays, i just never noticed the battery and fuel related symbols before.

▲ 0 r/gojira

Hey all, just wanted to share an old track that I finally decided to released yesterday titled ''A Monumental Price''.

I would describe it as ''spiritual blackened prog metal'' that has some strong Gojira influence intrumentally and lyrically, so if you are into Gojira largely for their lyrics, you might vibe with this one. it's on the technical side guitar wise so it leans more into being prog, but it has some black metal inspired atmospheres towards the end of the track. The strong emphasis on lyrical story telling might be to your tastes if you like technical metal with a lyrical focus.

The production isn't so great, so I recommend decent headphones enjoy!

Everynight without fail, I wake up early in the morning and just cannot fall back to sleep no matter how long I lay there, i am running on 3 - 4 hours per night at the moment and even though ive gotten used to it, its pilling up on me.

How do you guys fall back asleep? It seems that if I wake up once, its over, I am quite high in neurotisism and obsessive compulsive mental habits, like hearing birds, hearing someone go to the bathroom, seeing sunlight, etc, makes it impossible to sleep, I am VERY suseptible to going from drowsy to completly alert again, Im just getting so frustrated, really and truly ive tried to be acceptant and patient but ive had enough of this ridiculous issue in my life that everything is based around.

Genuinely don't understand what people mean by this when they write that on their profiles, do they think some people have no sense of humour? 🤣 basically they are saying "have my sense of humour" lol.
