Lows while on metformin and glp1s suck

I'm type 1 before anyone complains about a type 2 posting here (I've gotten too many comments online and irl when I mention I'm taking metformin and Wegovy. t1 since 09, insulin resistant since 2024).

I started Wegovy a bit ago, after stopping Mounjaro, and my god sometimes lows just will not come up with these meds. last night I kept going low (also needed to fix my ratios) but it literally took an entire bag of gushers to make me break 100mg/dL. After having hostess cupcakes (with some insulin) and an apple (without insulin).

the gushers were without insulin and I still barely broke 100 an hour later.

these meds do work, but this is your reminder to BE CAREFUL.

My ceiling started leaking at work

I get it's 2am but I'm not sure that bucket is gonna be enough when that ceiling tile breaks.

but the bucket is what the boss wants so that's what I did.

I got my battery stuck 😭

hoping someone has been in the same situation as me, I know I'm stupid.

aventon pace (4 I think is what they said in the store) I was trying to put the battery in for the first time and got it stuck with the button end more in than the other end.

Odd question about needles

walgreens is being a mess with one of my scripts and my Dr is out of the office until the end of the month. if I show up with a bottle of testosterone and a needle, would I possibly be able to buy the needles I need OTC?

Are there any states that allow for verbal notice of lease termination?

location: US

just curious really, I see a lot of posts about landlords ending leases wrong so I was curious and would rather not deal with Google giving me AI answers.

If my sister were to start to evict me, would I be moved up the list?

state: MA

Just a thought I've been having because it seems like my sister doesn't want me at her place for much longer and because I currently have stable living, I'm at the bottom of the list.

I'm low income (receiving minimal EBT benefits and Medicaid), only need one bedroom because it's just me.

she wouldn't be evicting me for non payment of rent, I pay her weekly a total that adds up to what she wants monthly. I'm pretty sure my city's waiting list is closed anyway but I just need to get this to people who might be able to answer so I have one less stress.

Writing a fanfiction with ferrets in it, anything important I should know?

long time ferret lover, but currently unable to have my own. so I live vicariously through y'all's photos.

I'm going to be writing a fanfiction where one of the characters gets a ferret (and then a second ferret later) and I was going to read through the wiki for how to care for them, but was wondering if y'all had information that might not be as well known about behavior and such.

Customers need to realize if the cashier says they don't have change for your big bill, they don't have change

I've had one customer tell me not to give him attitude tonight and another try to convince me I had to take her cash because it's all she had (spoiler alert: in the US a store doesn't have to take your money, they can just decline to sell you anything. you haven't accrued a debt with them, there may be a state law that mandates it but the country itself does not).

why did the man tell me not to give him attitude? he politely asked if I had change for $100. I said no. i watched him walk and grab the cheapest item we have, and I asked him "are you going to use $100 to pay for that?" "yes" "I'm sorry, I don't have change for that type of money."

it is almost 3am. I don't know any place stupid enough to have change for $100 open at this hour. most places are actually trying not to get robbed.

There is no federal statute mandating that a private business, a person, or an organization must accept currency or coins as payment for goods or services. Private businesses are free to develop their own policies on whether to accept cash unless there is a state law that says otherwise.

Best way to prevent highs while sleeping?

omnipod 5 and g7 10 day (soon to be 15 day). type 1 diabetic taking metformin and Wegovy (just started after stopping Mounjaro for about a week due to insurance issues, so I'm still waiting to see changes from it)

so I'm night shift, and my time in range is normally stellar for being night shift (80%+ in range for the last 14 days), but I notice that sometimes while I'm asleep I'll have random highs. aside from attempting to wake up to fix any highs, does anyone have any good advice for preventing these highs? they're not huge, usually the low 200s, but I'm trying to get my a1c down.

Ginger Cat found on May St near Hadwen Arboretum

I'm so sorry to whoever lost their cat. I wasn't able to stop and get pictures as I was on my bike, but I hope this post potentially finds the owners so they can get some closure. Looks like it might have gotten into a fight with another animal.

"Drinking red bull gave me a heart attack"

I'm a cashier, was technically part of this conversation but he was talking to the other customers at this time.

He notices that one of them has a red bull and tells her how bad it is for you, how it gave him a heart attack. Proceeded to admit, after she left, he was drinking 12 red bulls a day before that.

Like no shit Sherlock.

Starting Wegovy on Monday, any differences from Mounjaro?

looking for experiences if anyone has made the switch. I know they're both glp1s so they probably work similar.

How to fix my brakes

hoping this sub can help me..I don't have the latest and greatest ebike, mines actually a crappy build your own off Amazon (mt first mistake) but it's genuinely my only transportation, so I'm trying to keep it working, but I can't keep bringing it to the shop every week.

so my brakes currently SUCK. one of them won't even work, the other only slows me down if I'm going slow. I've been accidentally running red lights like crazy if I'm not careful. I don't know the right word for what's wrong but it's like the brake goes straight to the handlebar without actually doing anything.

I can send pictures/videos after my shift (I took a Lyft because it's raining and I don't trust this bike to actually stop). bike is a Funhang.

Is there a way I can prove my punches have been changed?

Employee using Workday here, I've noticed a few of my punches seemed edited in the schedule (for example, the schedule saying I left at 6am when I was scheduled until 7am and frequently have not left at the time I'm scheduled to leave at). I've been told by another employee that it's common for our boss to do that, and I want to make sure I'm getting paid fairly (especially when the boss is the reason I don't leave on time 99% of the time). is there a way that I, as the employee, can look at if my punches were changed, either in the app or on the site?

How many people have thought about digimon mystery dungeon?

I just finished rewatching Digimon X Evolution and had the thought about how Digimon would be so perfect for mystery dungeon. I know someone recently posted about their digimon team but was wondering if there were other fans of the idea?

I'm dying for a roleplay of this now lol.

Good places to eat serving mashed potatoes or soup?

weird question, I know, but my friend is having med issues and can't swallow right now (can't stop the med without serious side effects). I'm from Worcester so don't know what the food scene looks like. we're looking for a decent priced place with easy to swallow stuff like mashed potatoes or soup, and easy to access via transit. thanks in advance!

Sensor failed as I was trying to sleep

So the sensor was mostly fine for days, I think I had like four left when it died on me. I'm the night shift, so sleep is already hard enough.

But now I. sitting in my kitchen because I'm 56 (that was the finger stick reading). That's at least marginally funny. New dexcom came up as 72 and I was like "is that right?" because my last reading was 200.

Fingerstick and I'm 56 lmao.

MA: Question about pay check deductions

So my boss made me full time, but will keep me at the hours I'm currently working (so I assume my benefits will stay the same). But if things are taken out of the pay check, like for health insurance, does the DTA take that into consideration? Just wondering if I should upload four pay stubs once that starts getting taken out is all.
