Haven’t painted in a little over a year due to losing my dad and becoming a new mom, lost some skills but I am very much proud of how this turned out!

How long does it typically take to receive funds after closing for an inherited property sale in New Mexico?

House closed 04/18/2026 and was updated to sold on Zillow the next day. It was sold for about double the amount left on the mortgage and the proceeds after all fees and taxes and stuff is split between 2 siblings who no longer speak to each other, 1 being my husband. The decedent has been passed for 3 years and this was the only remaining asset in probate, one sibling lived in the home but decided to sell and let go.

We want to use the proceeds to purchase property in the next year or so, our lease is up in October and we don’t live in a wonderful area, we have a young son and think it’s time to move on, and I’m trying to make a bit of a timeline so we know what to expect. We would hope to close on a home by December or January of next year.

If anyone knows the typical timeline for funds dispersal in a situation like this it could help. Thanks

Diet Dr Pepper in my thermos. My dad died when I was pregnant and I randomly get depressed while trying to navigate being a new mom.

Me and my dad were inappropriately close. We were more like best friends than father and daughter. The divorce was messy, abusive on my mom’s side, involved heavy drug abuse, terrible all around. My memories from age 9-13 are basically trauma after trauma. Punching, hitting, being choked by my mom. His head being bashed in with a pan. A hostage situation. Being kidnapped by my mom and being forced to sleep in a Walmart parking lot while my mom got high.

and I was the only one old enough to comfort him. I was like his therapist more than his daughter. But I wouldn’t change it for the world. We were so close, we loved eachother so deeply. We were so unbelievably bonded. I loved him so much.

On October 20th 2025 he decided to climb 5 flights of stairs 1 month after a defib pacemaker surgery because the elevator was out and Jeff Bezos dumbass doesn’t know how to handle the cloud computing services outage. He died on the 5th floor stairwell. Coroner said pretty much instant, just lights out. If it happened in a fully loaded trauma room it was slim to none that he would come back.

Anyway, I was 28 weeks pregnant and he was so excited to be a grandpa. Now my son is 4 months old and at night I get so scared that I can’t do this, that I’m a bad mom, I’m a bad wife. And I miss my dad so much.

Why me?? Why?? I’ve been through so much and worked so hard to build myself back up. Why would the universe take my daddy from me.

I miss him so much.

Oh my god, shut up about his flat spot, good lord (a rant)

Yes, my son has a flat spot.

Yes, I hold him all the time, hes a velcro baby. If he's not doing tummy time, or on my lap, we are doing babywearing.

Yes, he rolls back to his belly and does a ton of tummy time, both purposeful and during his independent floor play.

No, his doctor is not concerned.

No, he doesn't need a helmet.

No, there is literally nothing I can do that I'm not already doing.

No, he doesn't spend all day in the crib. He DOES however, sleep 8 hours straight, wakes to eat, then goes back to sleep for 4 hours. On his back, on a hard mattress which is why he has the freaking flat spot.

SHUT UPPPPPP

question about an interview question on behalf of my husband

My husband is trying for his third year in a row to get into the pipefitters union; the first 2 times, nerves got the best of him, and he failed the math test due to extreme anxiety despite aceing the practice test. This time, he practiced and worked on his test-taking anxiety and passed with flying colors so he is moving on to the interview! Not just that but he has a ton of points this year, has taken 3 welding and welding inspection classes, has his HVAC-R certification, and has been working in a manual labor management role for the past year. I really think this year is the year he has a great chance at getting in.

He got a little sheet with some example questions for the interview and we are practicing his answers together. One that is tripping us up is

"Imagine a scenario where your foreman or journeyman tells you, 'You're wrong, ' but you disagree, what would you do?"

His answer is that he is working under their license and trusts them that they have the most current, up-to-date information, and that ultimately, he is the trainee and they are the mentor, so he will follow their instructions.

I said maybe it's a trick question to see if you would have the "brass" to have a reasonable disagreement with your superior if they are asking you to do something out of regulation or that compromises safety, and now we both don't know what a good answer.

What would your answer be? Also, I am handy, but I am not in the trades, so I could very well be totally wrong on my interpretation of the question, you won't hurt my feelings if you say so lol.

Pediatrician recommended adding rice cereal to bottles for weight gain, worried due to arsenic levels and choking. Does the science support spoon feeding oatmeal instead?

My baby is 27 inches long, and weighs 13 lbs 13oz. His birthweight was 7lbs 7oz, so not quite doubled. Edit: he is 4 months old

She said he’s not gaining enough weight and to add rice cereal to his bottle, but he’s following his growth curve, and frankly I don’t want his bottle to be thick and cause choking or something.

Can I just mix the rice cereal/oatmeal (preferably baby oatmeal) and give it to him by spoon instead? That seems much safer than sticking it in a bottle. I’m so confused. He’s hitting all his milestones even rolling early. He can roll back to belly and side to side, he can grasp and sit up assisted.

I normally see the male doctor at our Ped but he was out today so I saw her instead.

My baby learned how to roll back to belly, which he does… often. Like every 2 minutes during floor play. The problem is once he’s on his belly he hates it and CANT GET BACK!!! So I have to go flip him over. I’ve tried letting him figure it out but he doesn’t even try he just screams and goes limp like a rag doll.

Is anyone else’s baby like this and when did they start learning how to roll belly to back?

My baby is 4 months and has been rolling side to side for a week
