The Creator of Slenderman Plays MTG, Hunter Should Invite Him

Eric Knudson AKA Victor Surge plays MTG. He made the original Something Awful posts where Slenderman was formed.

It would be hella cool if he was in an episode of MeatyMagic

For Those New to Voting, Watch Out for Fake Pamphlets and Properly Register to Vote

What I am holding is not legitimate. Many similar to these are out to collect your information or worse.

To properly register to vote, follow the instructions at the Ohio Secretary of State website and take your own initiative.

Thank you for your time. My stupid brain almost clicked the final button which would've sent me to the shadow realm.

The Glint On The Mountain

Context: I made this today at the writing club. Everyone was given 90 minutes to write something about "heat".

The Glint on the Mountain

Twenty footsteps pace around slippery ground.  Their trek poles pierce the somber glaciers and the cracks trace a constellation beneath them, charting their next steps.  Behind their hoods was a craving wind and in front of them was the rest of the expedition.  Their leader was titled “Professor” but the sentiment to her was more as “Officer” due to the conditions they often set themselves before.  Her name was Vica, born 1892 and now with nine others three decades later.

If she were to open her book the pages would tear from the storm, so it was cradled beneath the rest of the expedition’s only lifeforce on an empty stomach of winter.  The dogs had to be left at camp but they knew the importance of the sled, so the most healthy took turns in the back pulling whilst the scout held his position up front to spot danger.

Vica remembered the reports four years prior.  In the northern mountains there was a vivid and human howl that would go off for hours.  It was located on mount Alfonse in the frigid and entirely inhospitable peaks.  Since then she began to study for this trip and believed in the myth that a sorcerer indeed existed up there.  That was why they were here.  They were explorers of the daunting tasks no one else would dare to touch otherwise.

They last heard there was a of glints in the snowstorm.

“Let’s rest under that crag up ahead!  Almost there.” Anthony the scout informed the rest.

They moved at a crawling pace until their bones began to feel the freezing temperatures and they pulled themselves into the cave beneath.  Strauss poured part of his lamp oil to increase the odds of igniting a modest fire.  He is the oldest among them at forty five and originates from Austria.

“Take out the map Vica.” Strauss recommended.

“Wait until my fingers gain back some strength or pull it out yourself.”

“Alright.  Helene will get some water boiling.”

The fire was the only light in the new moon and the rest was dark.  The explorers, scientists, locals and guides sat silent.  There was one last day.  Their lives depended on the discovery so they could muster the courage to bring their findings to the rest of the world.

Faraday stood closer to the fire.  She began an oral history subject all on the minds of the company.

“The Abyssonians have not marched here for centuries.  But in their tales, the sorcerer they claimed existed lived over a hundred years from turning his ailments to stone.  He in his own boredom took the ailments and gave them to pots and pans around his keep and brought life to them.”

“Vica believes lithomancy to have existed in practice.”  Remarked Strauss.

“The aforementioned story holds evidence that there is indeed some sort of anomaly in the mountain.  Whether something magical is up there or not is not of our concern until we actually reach the summit.  I do not have the energy anymore.  I only want to see it for myself.”

Her tired eyes gaze at Marcus.

“Is the folding camera sound, Mark?”

“Yes mam.”  The artificer shivered and got closer to the fire.

As they fed it and as the wood in their loads lightened and as so did the rations, they heard a cowering scream from the summit blinded by the night storm.  It was as ferocious as it was fearful.  Everyone stood up and began looking at each other with wild faces.  It was the first time they had heard another person for two weeks.

“It came from higher up!  It sounds like the summit is the origin!”  Vica proclaimed.

“Who could live there?  It is impossible.”  Anthony said with a chilling voice.  Everyone was shaken up and the ordeal would last all night.  Even if they wanted to, the storm would claim them if they scaled the peaks.  They laid in their bedrolls motionless, anticipating each noise.  Their rifles were tucked in bed with them.

When the sun rose again the sleepless company fastened their tents and belongings from the cave and began to hike.  This time it was Vica in the front.

They hiked past ravines of turquoise ruptures with no bottom in sight and they hiked across jagged rocks in the shape of a castlevanian stairway formed by past glaciers.  The sled had to be left at the bottom of the peak and the ten of them packed as much necessary equipment as a quartermaster’s inventory.

Strauss almost slipped from a new piercing wail but was caught by the hands of Marcus and Helene.  Their eyes dilated by the sightless cliffside that could kill them from the most dire of stepping stones.

More rock covered the walls and they got higher and more snow had to be dug out as it rose to their hips.  But during the stress of everyone and their surroundings, Vica paused and hollered everyone else.

Past them was a cavern of amber sediment and inside seemed dim but not entirely dark.  They moved on.

Their faces grew anxious but desperate for the shelter.  They went in without a moment’s notice and trotted inside.  There was no wind drafting in the cavern.

When Vica lit a lantern, the place grew and what was revealed to her were all kinds of pottery, sitting stones, a kiln, everything that made survival a possibility thousands of feet up.

Yet when the light grew upon the ancient relics they began to shake.

And they all began to wail.

It was a horrendous screaming from hundreds of household items from a forgotten time and everyone covered their ears.  They did not speak any language yet only spoke through moans of anguish and cries of confusion.

“What is this?!” Marcus yelled, his camera shaking beneath him.

“It is life given to inanimate objects!  It is lithomancy!”  Vica yelled back, trying to keep her composure.  Marcus began to snap pictures but they alone could not prove the existence of the magic but only that the relics existed themselves.

“How do we stop them from screaming?”  Strauss pleaded.

“Smash them.”  Vica ordered.  “Smash every single one.”

Helene grabbed one of the pots, and after some hesitation dropped the item.  The howling stopped as soon as it was smashed.

The rest followed suit and began vandalizing the place.  In the Abyssonian tales, it was wise to break objects given life because they were not supposed to be alive.

“It would be similar to giving the fire of a soul to a rock and to leave it alone for an eternity, not knowing who it was and why it was there.  It would be a new hell you cannot escape.”

They were back at the cave and their eyes glistened with a soured wonder and deep thoughts.  They could not figure out the situation.

“And if stuck long enough, and if near someone long enough they would eventually learn to curse the user.  The life given to them was not consensual.  Therefore the rock would want an equal torment against its creator.”

“I have a question, Vica.”  Strauss replied.

“Go on.”

“They seemed only to activate, or correct me if I’m wrong, but only responded when they saw us in the light.  And you said the local populace claimed to see glints in mount Alfonse?  This mountain?”

She did not respond.

“Why would they cry out and beg for mercy?”  Strauss said in a fearful tone.

As soon as he said this, one of the tents rose into the air and began twisting.  Rifles began to fire, and then there was silence.

Do Constables Now Prefire Sometimes When Suspecting Something?

With the Controller update out, I've noticed that if a Constable slightly spots you, there is a 10% chance it will fire its gun at the direction before walk searching, and the shot does not alert the other Constables nearby.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Amy Good High Quality Webcams to Use for Bigger Rooms

I need a webcam that can cover my entire room and not lose quality since I wont be up at my computer. I refuse to get a camera because they are deadly expensive and I know there are webcams that exist out there. Hopefully something 1920x1080+ resolution.

My previous webcam is 7 years old and has degraded to 480p resolution so I definitely need to upgrade if I'm going to start my new project.

My max budget is $200

Hush Should Be Batman's Ally/Healer, But Would Betray Him Once He Seizes Joker's Empire

This is moreso half an idea and half a theory.

I will be honest, I really dislike Hush as a character in the mainline DC universe due to his one-note design and lack of depth. But I think Absolute Batman can redesign him.

So what if Hush became the doctor among Batman's sidekicks since Batman is definitely going to get more injured and he probably has some lasting injuries right now that haven't been accounted for.

Hush could be an older man (50s-60s) who was a part of the previous Jack Grimm incarnation's circle as a kid, but for lore reasons is dead set on taking everything Joker has for himself. Therefore, he allies with Batman.

He would be able to go incognito with his face changing properties and join fights, but most importantly he is a magnificent surgeon that would operate on Batman on multiple occassions, secretly noting weak spots during the process.

Everytime Batman meets Hush to plan together, he is either in bandages or has a completely new face due to his operations.

Unlike Bruce Wayne in the main universe, Hush trying to take Joker down would be nearly impossible without assistance. He'd be a tenuous ally but all in all still a villain.

What do you guys think?

Are There Any Good SCP Stories That Are Not Entries?

When it comes to surface level SCP lore I am pretty much a cabbage to it, I know the basics and love the main rogue's gallery and their entries.

But as for stories about encounters, events, spooky stories, etc I have had a harder time finding something fun to read. I am really into horror books like The Ritual and Incidents Around the House and was wondering if there were any short stories for the SCP universe that anyone could jump into and not have to be invested into the lore prior to reading.

Any help is much appreciated. If I do find a good one, I plan to print it out and create a file to put on my bookshelf.

Transferred My 130+ Song STALKER Playlist to Youtube

A few years ago, I shared the Spotify version of this playlist. Now it is on YouTube.

I only know English so I had to use Microsoft Snipping Tool's text scanner to even find a lot of these songs but they are so good to listen to. I moved from Spotify to YouTube Music last year and finally got around to transferring this the past 4 hours.

Things to note;

-Its less post punk and more of a variety of genres

-Only ~13% KINO songs, I love the band but I want all the bands as well lol

-Unfortunately a few of these band members have died in the war. So I hope their songs are remembered.

If you have any recommends, I can add to this since this is a public playlist.

Since the Rat Seal is in the Market District But Doesn't Exist Yet, will the Market District Be Updated?

Photo is one of the oldest shopping malls ever, built in 1877 in Milan, Italy. It is called the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.

I'm wondering how they would implement the Rat Seal when the Market District already exists. Will they go back to it and add a new layer? Have the devs discussed this before? I don't think they'd just randomly add it.

My theory is the Market will be expanded through a new massive shopping mall tucked in the city where the Rat Seal is located. It would be accessible at the start but is incredibly hard to complete early game. But it would progressively get easier the more types of tools and weapons you unlock such as the Harpoon for the high areas and Crowfeather bolts for the floor.

As for enemies, a massive roaming rat swarm in the halls could be cool accompanied by batbarbers on the glass ceilings.
