I generally see nothing but disdain for The Dead Dance. I see it ranked lower than half-assed songs from A Star Is Born on tier ratings on a fairly consistent basis. It’s almost unanimously in the very bottom most fans Mayhem list.

But what’s really the problem with it? Personally, I don’t like that we sacrificed a potential original Mayhem track for it to promote Wednesday…but honestly? That’s it. The video is solid. The song itself has some of the BEST, most atmospheric and haunting verses in Gaga’s arsenal. The chorus is a little repetitive and could’ve been more thoughtful, but “When you killed me inside, thats’s when I came alive” really helps redeem it. I also don’t think the repetitive chorus is fair to use against it when Kill For Love gets nearly unanimous love and it’s just as - if not more - repetitive with the same disco vibe.

Is it an S tier song? No. But it seems judged unfairly overall, to me.

This is the Mirror influencer event. What children do you see? I see eight upper-20s and 30s men. This isn’t specific to Mirror, either. This is who Mattel sends dolls to etc. it’s all the same people. They’re not sending them to 8 year old girls. They’re not inviting children to special events. If this is their target audience - ok. I’m one of these people as an adult gay man. But let’s not sit here and keep using the “Monster High and MGA aren’t for YOU, they’re for children!” excuse at every turn when there’s criticism.

In general I think influencer packages are gross and finally died off - but with Mattel doing it with Moonspell and MGA doing it with Mirror Mi…I spoke too soon. Please be advised this is not jealousy - it’s just that saying fashion dolls are being made for children when these companies KNOW their demographic is very much adult collectors as well is completely moot at this point.

I’m seriously both shocked and not shocked by how everybody is hating her. Everybody screams “we want dark! Bring back black! Fabric boots”…we got all of those things. Like what DO some of y’all want? I saw several people complain that she’s not pink and coral 🫩 Nobody is ever happy. The only thing I don’t care for is the bright yellow hair (platinum would’ve been preferred) but Jesus this fandom can be impossible. And this is another release where, when people get her in real life, the “lowkey she ate I should’ve gotten her when I had the chance fam” comments will flood in.

Gross shoe warning. I’ve had these for years…like 17 to be exact. When pleather degrades, it’s the matte pleather (shown in the body of the shoe. This is a covering over fabric - almost painted on. It gets dry, brittle and flakes off.

Shiny pleather does not flake (the straps on the shoe). It isn’t a finish - it’s the actual material.

Either one of these concepts would’ve been/would be fantastic. We’ve had the same look since Doom 3 - Bald gorilla behemoth with little to no eyes. Don’t get me wrong, I love that design. But everything else has had some sort of upgrade/change and I feel like a more demonic design would be a nice callback to the original source.

I love Dracubecca so much, but I’ve always seen her as a Draculaura doll with some Victorian steampunk elements - not Robecca at all. She reminds me a lot of a playline version of the 2015 Collector Drac. (I know she has rivets and rocket boots but they really said Drac but copper wings)
