Has anyone ever had success annexing a neighborhood for RTD use?

Hello, I'm currently a resident of the neighborhood (Murphy Creek) and ever since I've lived here I hated the lack of public transportation, and I would love if we were able to gain RTD support in this eastern-most part of aurora (Murphy Ceek, Traditions, Harmony), even if it was just a small bus route.

On their website it says it's possible to get have an election for the RTD to decide whether or not to annex a neighborhood, like these eastern-most ones, but has anyone ever actually been able to annex a neighborhood like this or is it just not possible. I'd really really love to see public transport support in my hometown, I hate how secluded it feels, but I don't know how possible this would be. Thank you guys.

Has anyone ever *actually* gotten pulled over for expired tags/plates?

Ever since I started driving here, I've seen probably 100 cars with expired temp plates. Not expired by a couple days either, expired by up to multiple years. (I've seen one with plates from 2021!). The process for trying to register a car is absurd, and due to a certain check engine light code (Yes I read it 🤦‍♂️), I'm just not able to pass emissions unless I pay an outrageous fee to get it fixed. Is it even worth bothering to try and register the car at this point? Has anyone ever actually been pulled over for something like this. Because it seems like extremely old tags are very, very common.

Does anyone else feel like a better driver the better car they drive?

When I'm driving my little shitbox of a car I feel like I'm more aggrivated and probably more unsafe of a driver. I also don't really care as much to fuck the car up compared to a nicer one. But when I am driving a nicer, newer car, with better amentities. I feel very patient and nice and overall like a much safer and better driver.

Best way to start saving as a young person?

Hello, I'm currently quite young; I have only just graduated high school and am working on going to college for an accounting degree. I'm wondering what the best/quickest way to start saving for a house would be. I want to be able to hopefully save enough for a nice down payment, and am hopefully subsequently able to make a high enough salary for a good mortgage.

I am mainly planning on living with my parents while saving, as to avoid larger expenses like housing/renting, which (*should*?) help me accrue the funds for a down payment, much quicker.

What kind of savings accounts should I use? Should I focus on splitting my funds into things like 401K's and Roth IRA's? What type of things should I look for in a house? Important things.

As for my current area of residence, I am currently located in/around Denver.

I don't want to live with my parents for too long, though, but if I'm able to make myself a nice chunk of change for a house before moving out, to avoid renting apartment that would be lovely.

Finances of acquiring a hellcat?

Hello, I am quite young but I've wanted a hellcat (a trackhawk mainly) since forever, I just don't know what the proper way to approach getting one would be. I'm not extremely interested in owning the hellcat itself, rather potentially leasing it for 2-3 years, just to have some fun. Does anyone have a good idea on what the finances would look like on that? I don't mind "wasting" my money for a little while if I can enjoy my life for a while (atleast while I'm still young lol). You only live once! What about would be the finances for this type of thing, and a fair or comfortable amount you would need to make to own such a car.

I would like to own some kind of fun sports car before I get old and have a bunch of responsibilities (But I would also like to not accidentally ruin my credit lmao) 😂

How do I know how reliable a car will be?

I have been scouring facebook marketplace for the past few days and I feel like I've seen some amazing cars for <$3,000 except I just don't know how I'm supposed to check for a cars reliability? This is gonna be my first car and I'd like for it to run how it's supposed to as I'm not picky. Anyone have good tips on how to find a good car? Thanks.

In desperate need of a car.

I need a good daily for like $3,000. Looking at mostly Camrys and civics but idk what exactly to look for in the cars (maximum miles, service history etcetera). This would be my first car and I have absolutely no knowledge so any pointers on how to know if a car will be reliable would be great! Thank you guys :)

Good price for old 2000's civic or accord?

I'm considering getting just a cheap car that runs but I'm not sure what model or things to look for when buying a car (specifically off of somewhere like fb marketplace). What're good things to watch out for and good prices to look at when shopping for a car? My budget is only around 3-4K so I'm not expecting anything stellar just something that runs. Also been looking at maybe like an elantra or camry? Any car'll do I just want to know what specific things I need to look for, like service history or dash lights. Thank you guys

Quoted $2,200 for timing belt replacement?

I took my little honda to a mechanic to ask about the timing belt and they said it would be $2,200 to fix? I feel like that's an absurd price, no?

Edit: I realised I should probably add a little clarification because I just said some shit with no context.

It's a 2011 honda pilot, with 257k miles on it, the tires need to be replaced, and the timing belt is fried. The dealership quoted me $4,000 for both (or $2,200 for just the timing belt), so I was considering just selling the car and getting a cheap civic or something instead. I probably should've added this beforehand 😅

2 edit: I've asked a couple other places and I found one that would do it for $1,400 which is miles lower than that other places price😮‍💨. I live by Denver so if anyone knows a good mechanic that could do the timing belt for nice and cheap please let me know :)

What is with the refusal to build stores by Murphy Creek and Adonea?

https://preview.redd.it/wmbwlp82i8hh1.png?width=2259&format=png&auto=webp&s=2db1c86a8a0982b0402945d0621d130af30935d0

I'm so interested in why down by murphy creek and Adonea they've opted for mass suburbanization and building homes, but have never added any new stores except for a tiny 7-11. Why has no store ever though to build out here? And what is with the amount of town homes and apartments being built out by the golf course? What is the point of these two towns having zero urban life.

Also why is gun club such a tiny ass road. Multiple people have gotten killed on it and nobody has ever thought to increase the width or make it safer in some way? It just fills me with anxiety. I hate these towns so much 🤦‍♂️. East aurora is so bare and suburban it's such a horrible town to live in.

17 year old no experience?

Hello I'm 17(m) and I'm struggling to find any jobs in the Aurora/Denver area that are actually hiring. I live quite far from the middle of denver so my commute is far but is there any way I can exponentially increase my chances of getting a job? I have a car and I'm able to go to locations. Should I be walking into places and asking for a job? I'm willing to work for min wage I just want a job. Is there anything specific I should put on a resume or anything?

How was Fiona up $100,000?

During the show we know that Fiona takes out a $100,000 loan against the house so she can invest in senior living. When that one guy buys her out of her investment she acts like she’s 100k up and debt free. Doesnt she have to pay back the $100,000 loan that she took out against the house?

Apple maps sucks

Is it just me who sometimes has apple maps assign you the most unsafe and ridiculous routes to take? Along with just not giving directions until after you pass a spot. It genuinely irritates me so much. I remember driving not too long ago where apple maps wanted me to cross 5 lanes of traffic to get onto the highway entrance that was no more than 500 feet ahead of the road. Apple maps genuinely has some of the worst routing I've seen lmao

How to secure my Roblox account?

I have not touched Roblox in months, but I have noticed so many people here being terminated and it's made me want to know any extra steps I can take to try and make sure that my account stays safe?
