Has anyone been fitted for a bike (more than for a sale) by anyone at one of the local shops (or an independent fitter if there are any) in or around Harrisonburg? What was your experience?

Im a fairly experienced cyclist, but I’m also closing in on 40 and the weird little post-ride aches and pains don’t go away as quickly as they used to. I’m primarily focused on injury prevention with a secondary goal of maximizing power, and efficiency.

I’m trying to help my dad figure out a way to change tubes despite arthritis in his hands (especially thumbs). He knows how to change tubes and tires, and has for decades, but his hands make it really difficult and/or painful now.

Are there any products or processes you know of that can make it easier/possible for someone with a very weak hands to change a bike tire?

Doesn’t have to be a single thing, a multi step process is fine. At least half of my quest here is helping him hold on to (pun intended) something that makes him feel more capable as he ages.

We’ll be back home next week and I know my 8yo will love it (like I did…decades ago lol) but want to make sure we’re not setting the 3yo up for an afternoon of bored tantrums if there’s nothing for him to do.

He’s definitely a runner/climber/jumper type, fwiw.

So, with eBay/marketplace being the best option, how long do we think an original (10yo) ELMNT will continue being supported?

Hi everyone, I had and loved my Elmnt MINI for 8 years before they effectively bricked it (not my post) and I’m in the market for another low-cost computer.

I do not need anything fancy, but what I really want is a computer (like my MINI) that relays texts from my phone to my head unit so that I can see them while I’m riding (and know if it’s important and I need to stop or if it’s just a group chat going off).

Can anyone recommend a computer that relays texts from your phone? TIA!

Has anyone had a good (or bad) experience with the three shops in town? Is there anyone who does bike fits independently?
