how can i gain weight at home? (M, 17, 5'6, 45 kg)

im M, 17, 5'6, 45 kg and im pretty skinny because I don't exercise much and I often skip meals.

i want to start gaining weight in a healthy way. what kinds of meals should I be eating, especially if im on a budget? also, what workouts can I do at home?

we only have a pair of dumbbells, and I'm thinking about starting calisthenics. if anyone has a simple workout routine or affordable meal suggestions that worked for them, id really appreciate it. thanks!

how does coffee cures my depression? 😭

im not diagnosed but for the past few days, i often have low energy, bedrotting, suicidal as hell, and such. but whenever i drink coffee, i'm suddenly energetic as hell, doesn't overthink anymore, and just happy. although, i palpitate a bit with shaking hands and fast heartbeat but it usually fades. idk, its like an anti depressant lol (haven't tried it yet) and i'm loving it

does anyone have a similar experience?

Okay lang naman siguro magkaroon ng failed friendships, no?

I am M18, an incoming freshman, who can't last a friendship...

1st Failed Friendships

During pre-pandemic, masaya naman yung childhood ko. Batang palaboy ako non, laging nasa labas at uuwi lang pag kakain na. I had many friends outside but I eventually outgrew them nung di na ko lumalabas dahil nag-pandemic na at nagkaroon na ko ng smartphone.

During the pandemic quarantine (2020–2022), hindi na ako lumalabas at puro cellphone na lang. I eventually developed social anxiety, to the point where even walking outside to buy something would create a panic attack. I only had my family and my phone to keep me company during those tough years. I became weird, shy, and socially awkward. The good thing was that I started taking my academics seriously since classes were online.

2nd Failed Friendships

Things went back to normal, and we had to attend face-to-face classes again (Grade 9). I had a hard time talking to my classmates and often isolated myself. Still, I managed to find a circle of friends and slowly got used to socializing again. However, it was still difficult for me to fit into group chat conversations, and I often felt left out. I was a sensitive kid (even up to this day), so I decided to avoid them and become "independent" and alone instead.

3rd Failed Friendships

Napunta ako sa ibang section during Grade 10, and there I found a new friend groups. It did not last long, since I still feel left out and had a hard time fitting in. So I decided to leave that friend group and formed a new one.

4th Failed Friendships

Tatlo kami rito and it lasted till the end of academic year, even though medyo pilit pa. We had different school plans for senior high school and nag-promise kami sa isa't isa na magiging magkaibigan pa rin kami. But I had a ghosting phase where I decided to deactivate all my social media during summer break, and our friend groups drifted apart.

5th Failed Friendships

I transferred to a different school during SHS, to finally change and turn myself into an extroverted, open, friendly person. It was a weird phase but I still made a friend group with the people sitting besides me. They were friendly too, some were kind, some were insufferable and annoying. But I left that friend group because of those annoying people.

6th Failed Friendships

I had a friend group with these two people who were already friends from other school. It was fun at first since we always go out and even go home at the same time. But they suddenly changed and I feel lowkey bullied from them. They started to ignore me even though I'm sitting beside them. And they would even go out with our other friends without telling me. I got too dependent with them and felt weird going home alone, eating alone. I was also bullied by a different circle of friends that year because of a group project where I reported them to our research teacher since they did not do their part (purposely). Since I had no one at that time, I had to go through it alone.

Looking through my past self, I was immature and too sensitive lol. Now that I became extroverted, I wished I could go back to my introverted self since it sucks not having a friend. I feel like I'm not meant to have long lasting friends. Now that I'm going to college, maybe avoiding friend groups might be better because of that recent traumatic experience. I really wished I matured early. Now I feel depressed due to social isolation and the need to go out more and socialize more but I literally do not have friends. It also sucks whenever I read post like "not having a lasting friendships says a lot about that person" and maybe there's something wrong with me and I do not deserve a friendship lol. Friendships is such a sensitive topic for me argh

Anong thoughts mo? Nagreklamo dahil undercooked ang manok, pero binash sa comments

I saw this post on TikTok about a girl complaining that the chicken she was served was undercooked.

here is the link for reference: https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSQDSNygj/

How to fix Messenger messages who disappear when I reinstall the app?

I need help with my messenger. 😭

I have a habit of completely uninstalling and reinstalling Facebook Lite and Messenger every few hours/days for personal reasons/mental health breaks.

Recently, I sent a message to someone and uninstalled the app shortly after. When I reinstalled it a few hours later, I could see a timestamp indicating they replied, but the actual message bubbles are completely missing/blank. I know they messaged me, but I can't see the text. This happens frequently, and I have to message them again to resend their texts.

How do I see those messages again? And what are the things I can do to turn off what's causing those?

does ur school matter for job hunting as an industrial engineer?

Does the school you graduate from matter when it comes to job hunting as a BS IE graduate, or are internships, certifications, and skills enough?

I'm considering applying for BS Industrial Engineering at RTU, but I feel like it's not as well-known as some other schools. Do employers care a lot about school reputation, especially for fresh grads?

I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences. Thanks!

BS IE or BS PT? help me choose 🙏🏻

help! i'm torn between pursuing PLM or RTU for college. I don't know which to choose. I'm scared of making the wrong choices and i feel like my choices is affected by other's opinions (or what they expect me to) and dont know what to prioritize. what do you think should i choose?

About me:

I came from a financially unstable family. My main goal is to help my mom financially after college since i still have younger siblings.

My dream profession was originally Medicine, but I don’t think we can afford the time and expenses. I also considered Occupational Therapy because I really like rehabilitation sciences, but most schools offering it are private and expensive. I also became interested in Psychology, but I’m worried about taking masters and financial practicality as well.

Because of our situation, I’ve been overthinking things about practicality, job opportunities, and salary growth after graduation.

PLM BS Physical Therapy

• PT is not exactly my dream program, but I still like the profession since it’s related to rehab science (similar to OT).

• I’ve seen many discussions saying healthcare jobs in the PH are often underpaid, which makes me worried about long-term financial stability.

• I like PLM because of its reputation, especially in the medical field, and because it’s tuition-free.

• My family also prefers PLM because of the school’s reputation, but I’m hesitant because I’m unsure about the salary potential in PT.

RTU BS Industrial Engineering

• IE seems versatile, and I also became interested in the profession after researching about it.

• I like that it can lead to different industries and possibly better salary growth in the long run.

• RTU is also tuition-free, though I’ve seen many mixed or negative reviews about the school online.

• I’m also worried whether graduating from RTU might make it harder to find opportunities as a fresh grad.

Note: Most of my research came from Reddit, Google, AI, and social media discussions, so I also want to hear insights from actual students/graduates/professionals. Feel free to correct me if I misunderstood anything.
