As someone with diagnosed ADHD/Autism and medically/legally medicated for over 35 years- like everyone here- I feel powerless as this is destroying my life. But it's critical we are all doing our part, so I've written up something about what's happening to us and sending it to all the places I watch who might be willing to take up the story and give it exposure.

You can use this as a general template if you want. The hope is if enough requests get sent out and places start picking it up and reporting on it, we can use that as momentum to force the issue into the spotlight.

TITLE: A plea for [PLACE] to take up a health/medication story affecting countless people that is being covered up by the DEA/FDA
SUBJECT: Hello [PLACE], big fan of your work. I'm reaching out because you are great for doing topics to make people aware of issues they otherwise wouldn't realize is going on.
One of those is directly affecting me and hundreds of thousands of other people suffering from ADHD / Autism who take stimulants medically to function: Since COVID over the past few years, the DEA and by proxy FDA have quietly & illegally changed the ratio of the medication inside of stimulants like Adderall and Vyvanse in order to both save money/supply and to change them into what they call 'abuse deterrent formulations'.
It is causing untold amounts of serious health side effects to people (like constant heart palpitations and severe depression), losing jobs, destroying lives, and even leading some to death because we are not being properly medicated in order to function. It's like if the FDA secretly altered and removed some of the makeup of insulin or chemo drugs. We're being told something else changed in our lives, it's all in our heads, or the dose just needs to be raised.
There is an entire subreddit that started called ThisAintAdderall (https://www.reddit.com/r/ThisAintAdderall/) by people reporting their stories, trying to find out more info, making complaint reports, and attempting to put together some kind of legal recourse. These people are not just some occasional tweakers abusing stimulants for a high, these are chronic sufferers of ADHD/Autism that have been on the medications for years/decades/lifetime that have all noticed something happening and are being adversely affected at the same time.
But we don't have exposure, we have no voice. We desperately need someone to take and start running with the story. I'm hoping you would be willing to take up that call, or if that's not possible, can maybe pass this on to someone who could.
