How can I get rid of this gunky stuff without ruining the finish?

I inherited a lovely bureau that's in pristine condition except for this top surface. What's on it appears to be accumulated drippings from oil based cosmetic products. It's both flaky and gooey.

Sofas and chairs with headrests that put your neck in an unnatural position.

I don't know why this became such a thing in seating design. We recently resorted to selling, at a loss, a nearly new sofa and loveseat because after months of having our heads far forward we'd developed severe neck pain. It was fine if we reclined, but not so when in the more frequent upright position. It's like furniture designers took a cue from auto manufacturers. I hate those headrests in cars as well, but at least there's a purpose for them. They're supposed to protect you from whiplash. I've never heard of whiplash being a household danger while seated.

What songs would you include on a surprise mixtape for someone whose favorite songs from her teens are How Much I Feel by Ambrosia and Baby Come Back by Player?

What's something you really hope you don't start doing as you age because it's so annoying to you now when old people do it?

Why would an AI narration have several different pronunciations of someone's name?

I was watching a video that mentioned actor Dan Aykroyd. The first time, the AI voice pronounced his last name correctly, but it mentioned him two subsequent times and pronounced it incorrectly and differently each of those two times.

Those cringy commercials for pharmaceuticals like Truvada, Descovey, and Apretude.

This is probably an extension of my discomfort with people who pack on the PDAs as if they've forgotten they're around strangers rather than in a private room. I hate the commercials that feature people who appear to not know one another well yet, but they're standing really close together. One is usually talking, and the other is just looking entranced, sensually eyeing them, and practically salivating. It's just a commercial, I know, but for some reason, that kind of display makes me sooo uncomfortable when I'm watching TV with someone else.

One of my favorite YouTube channels features a husband and wife living in rural China. The wife is actually Ugandan. They do a lot of cooking in these videos. I just realized I hardly ever see them cooking with tomatoes and it doesn't seem to be something they grow in their gardens. I believe the only time I've seen them use tomatoes is in a dish that's just tomato and eggs, and they purchased those tomatoes from a market in town.

Since the day I was born, as long as I've been in the same city as my mother, Mother's Day has been mostly about her by default. My mother, even though she's 92, is healthier and more active than I am, but I still tend to her as most eldest daughters do. It's not easy. She has a challenging personality and every time spent with her leaves me exhausted, annoyed, and feeling bad about myself for getting so annoyed.

This year, my offspring want to celebrate me in the city where my daughter lives. Ordinarily, I would invite and take my mother along, but I haven't mentioned this trip to her, and I just realized it's because I don't want yet another Mother's Day feeling secondary. Because none of my siblings live in our city, it means my mother will be alone for the day. She does have friends who will send her cards as usual. Is it okay to just go off and do my thing this year and not feel guilty about it?

EDIT: I should have mentioned that the main reason I want this Mother's Day to be about me is I've had a very difficult year health wise with several very serious illnesses and hospitalizations. There have been a couple of times I wasn't sure I would even see another Mother's Day.

No one who's reached adulthood should be unaware of the fact that there are disabilities strangers can't readily see or that aren't obvious from a cursory glance or interaction. If you're one of those individuals who thinks every disabled person should have some type of assistive device you personally can see to determine if they're worthy of an accommodation, you should take some time to educate yourself and reflect and try to be a better human.

I've seen this twice now, and it's not something I ever would have considered doing when my kids were teens. The most recent post I saw by an acquaintance had photos of her son over the years and birthday wishes from her, then ended with something like, "Please do me a favor and help us wish him a happy 16th. Flood his Cash App $SonsName with birthday love." Am I just out of touch in finding this tacky?

I have three years remaining on an auto loan with a balance of just $8,000. APR on the loan is 8.8%. Since I got that loan, my credit score has increased from 740 to 820. I was thinking of either decreasing the term to 24 months and hoping to have my payment stay about the same, or seeing if I could get approved for a lower rate and keeping the remaining term of 36 months. I know either way would save me money, but would a lender even be interested in making such a loan? Does that type of credit score increase even warrant a better rate?
