Prank War Reboot?

I get that this and Total Forgiveness won't ever be greenlit in their original forms again because it traumatized the talent. But this was HILARIOUS content!

Also, it seems like Dropout pulled the skydiving episode from YouTube? Any official statements on why?

TIL that, during the American Civil War, a Virginian medical college contained an anatomical exhibit that derided abolitionists; the body in fact belonged to one John Brown's sons. Upon this discovery, Union soldiers retaliated by burning down the institution.

Mormon Stories Trademark Lawsuit

I'm curious to know if there has been discussion about filing an amicus brief in the Mormon Stories trademark case? I would assume CoC would be opposed to the Brighamites attempted monopoly over the term "Mormon". Buy has there been any advocacy to this effect?

[Tenant US-LA] How do you want to be notified of an expensive code violation?

I moved from a one bedroom to a *newly renovated* two bedroom unit in the building.

This is an old building with the door chain painted in place, cupboards that can't be opened when the overhead fan is turned on, and drawers that are blocked by the main bedroom doorknob.

When I moved in, I clocked a cracked window, two broken light switches, and AC units with cords oriented on the wrong side and which can't be plugged in without tenant supplied extension cords. Those are only the issues they chose to address and the electrician is coming over for try #3 tomorrow.

Two days ago, I noticed the gas stove only has a recirculating unit installed in the overhead. I sent the landlord a maintenance request, stating that the contractor must have screwed up as it's a code violation.

The PM's regional manager sent me a screenshot of the closed ticket, stating that it was intentional and not a code violation. However, my old unit and another two bedroom unit have mechanical ventilation. So even if they replaced a recirculating fan, the unit originally had mechanical exhaust at some point.

So I'm pretty sure the property management company will be on the hook for adding ventilation to 3-5 units. What is the best way to handle this? It's not a major safety issue, otherwise the exhaust fans would have to turn on automatically - right?

I felt fine reporting the electrical work because I'm assuming the contractor fucked it up. But this isn't a major safety issue and I think it's going to get the landlord in trouble. I'm pretty sure these people hate me because there have been other things that were not within my control but DEFINITELY disqualify me from the ideal "zero maintenance tenant". The tenant manager (or whatever you call them) and another **really** nice tenant have both complained about regional manager's ... bedside manner. 😟😰😰

Fuck the ~~Confederacy~~ Slavers

I feel like we hand these assholes a win every time we insult traitors, confederates, and the Confederacy because each of those is at least a step away from the entire reason for the war: slavery.

When I tell confederate-pilled assholes with the battle flag off, they get all insulated about heritage and making it about how I'm being impolite to them.

However (and I haven't had a chance to do this yet) I now plan to tell them, fuck slavery and kill the masters.

If they start going on about, "It wasn't about slavery" then tell them the documents of cesession and thus the Confederacy disagreed. They try to distract ("there were slave owning Union states") I'll tell them I'm not interested in post war loser propaganda and continually redirect to the documents of cesession: asking them to find a single mention of grievances other than the ability to own and retrieve slaves.

If they are SUPER dumb and start down the, "Not all slave owners!" or "Not everyone owned slaves" I'll tell them that if I was forced to work 16 hours/day 7 days a week, tortured, raped, and had my kids sold off I would kill the master the first chance I had. And if I wasn't a slave I would fight to destroy any society and political system that enabled such horrors. Whether that means pulling a John Brown and trying to ignite a slave rebellion or marching to Atlanta, killing every slave master I found.

Whatever comes up, redirect to slavery and the moral imperative to end it as quickly as possible. I want more memes about killing slave masters!

So, do callers push him on his complicity?

So Alex ignoring the pedophile cabal members sitting in office and ACTIVELY collaborating with Steve Bannon must cause some cognitive dissonance with his fan base.

Do callers and others push him on this? Are the crazies coming after Jones for being in the Epstein club?

[Tenant - US-LA] AC Extension Cords

I just started renting a unit managed by a property management company. The remodel they did before I moved in was the typical min cost + no-one-in-charge affair. The air conditioners ALL require extension cords. Two were installed with the cords on the wrong side and thus can't reach any outlet (someome mixed up which AC unit goes in which room). The one in my living room can only reach the one electrical outlet controlled by a light switch.

I logged some tickets when I first moved in but had to go on vacation. But when I got back, the mixed up AC units were not moved. Instead, my appliance grade extension cords had been removed and the cords strung across the room in a way that isn't tenable.

What would y'all want me to do? It seems like the contractor and/or the property management company either doesn't care or doesn't want to know. I wouldn't trust tenants to use appropriate extension cords if it was my place but I'm worried about irritating the property managers.

What's up with Tenstorrent?

With the leak of Qualcomm acquisition negotiations, I'm curious as to Tenstorrent's market prospects. While they have been doing innovative work on the licensing front, I haven't heard much about their hardware sales.

Why did their AI hardware not take off? What are the prospects for Ascalon and future CPUs? How much of this is due to the fab oversubscription and high interest rates?

I was really hoping Tenstorrent would emerge as a competitor to the existing oligopolies, even if they are propped up just to ensure a second source supplier. A purchase by IBM or a roll-up with a smaller player would be much healthier for the market.

But it sounds like volume is a limiting factor that enables the big players to shut out competitors?

Edit: I'm not asking why I don't have a leading edge CPU. I'm asking why TensTorrent would be in serious negotiations instead of financing another round.

Ban "No KYC?" Questions?

Scammers love these and it is asked every couple weeks.

The resulting thread is just cut-and-paste recommendations from last week, which can be edited later to scam people. It's never a discussion about KYC, the merits of each option, nor proper opsec WRT traceability.

I would much rather see community members redirected to a wiki page with vetted links and the appropriate disclaimers about Bitcoin being super traceable.
