@wrensdenasmr is a hypocrite

this woman has made 2 videos on ariana grande and her body and how she has all the resources in the world to heal. meanwhile she posted a video a few weeks ago crying bc people were bullying her on the internet about her hair and her looks.
don’t dish it if you can’t take it. i used to enjoy her content but it’s become so hostile. i get alot of people have been concerned about ariana but when you’re also mentally unwell and have basically built your whole online persona around your mental illness, i dont think you have the right to comment on how other people with different mental illnesses heal. its just very weird and disgusting. but hey, anything for engagement

‘alt’ people are meaner than basic people

a lot of alt spaces feel like you’re constantly being judged for not being “different enough.” It’s like there’s this unspoken competition to be the most unique and unlike anyone else

im not saying that all alt people are like the most evil people on planet earth but generally speaking i’ve met more mean alt people than basic people just because they think they have some superiority bc they are different

only had him for 3 weeks and he already trusts me!!

this is my first ever hamster (i’ve only ever had 2 dogs) and so i was extra careful when handling my little one, but now i believe hes fully settled into his environment. everytime i put my hand in the cage he runs toward it and climbs all over me lol. i’m so proud bc i know dwarf hamsters tend to be timid but hes a brave little boy! i’m so happy that my first time having a hamster i was successful with taming 😊i love him

having no friends is better

not having to people please, not having to do anything you don’t wanna do, being able to have peace in your own company is sooo much better than having friends. the concept of friendship is nice in principle but in practice it’s draining

how do i stop feeling guilty

i (18f) cut off my dad for a few months until i decide what i want in the long term. i did this because he’s emotionally draining, was abusive to my mum and very manipulative to the pair of us. he cheated on her and allowed the woman he had an affair with to stalk my mum countless times.

i hate him for what he’s done. but i can’t stop feeling guilty. he always makes me feel guilty by saying i never contact him etc. but now i just feel worse. it’s relieving that i don’t have to contact him but i feel guilt bc he’s my dad and i feel like i owe him something
what do i do to stop feeling guilty

edit: to be clear my cbt therapist didn’t suggest this. i made this up so i could have an excuse to not contact him for a few months. my grandmother suggested it so my mum can finalise their divorce peacefully. however, i have talked to my cbt therapist and she thought that putting this in place was the right thing to do.

so tired of ex theme rocd

i keep getting intrusive thoughts about my ex when i’m in a loving, beautiful relationship with my boyfriend of almost 2 years. the thoughts are always consisting of “i love ___(exs name)” or his name repeating in my head.

i can’t stop checking my feelings through love songs and looking at images of him to see how it makes me feel.
a lot of the time it feels way too real and it terrifies me. i don’t know how to differentiate between real feelings and ocd feelings.
i feel like a disgusting person, a liar and a cheat. i hate feeling like i still have feelings for my ex even though i want to be with my partner for the rest of my life. sometimes it’s really hard to bare.

i’ve come on here a couple times to talk about this, but it isn’t getting much better and i’m exhausted.

i can’t stop doing this

i (18f) have been struggling with ocd for a year and a half. particularly ROCD and pure O. i get horrible intrusive thoughts and i compulsively repeat affirmations in my head to counter them. alot of the intrusive thoughts i get are there 24/7 when i’m awake, so it’s just one thought running in my mind all day with about a billion other thoughts to go with it. i’ve noticed sometimes that i cant help but mouth the affirmations to myself rather than just in my head because my brain literally forces me to. i just feel like i have to do it, not because it feels wrong if i dont, but it’s like an automatic response. it feels like somewhat of a tic at this point. has this happened to anyone else?

how do i get back into music again

for context i used to be such a music lover, woudl listen to music all day everyday for years. but the last year or so, ive found myself in a rut. i enjoy music occasionally, but not as much as i used to without getting bored. it may just be the artists i listen to, bc i tend to go for mainstream pop / alt pop (you may think i’m basic but i listen to this type of music for joy lol). i just don’t know how to get back into music again bc i really want to, i’m just not sure where to start. advice please????

how do i (18f) handle my relationship with my dad (52m).

for context, my parents are divorced but only recently. my dad had been cheating on my mum for the last 3 years of their marriage, starting when i was 14 and it ended when i was 17. it was a traumatic thing to watch, my dad was abusive towards my mum physically and emotionally, he moved in and out of the house about 10 times during all of this. went to jail for stalking about 15 times and just before i turned 18, he was kept in jail for a few months.
obviously, this impacted me alot. i know most of the abuse was not directed at me, it was directed towards my mum who suffered the most during all of this and my heart aches for her. but he was manipulative towards me alot. he got angry at me alot, and he allowed me to witness this abuse. he also allowed the woman he was cheating with to stalk my mother and i, send letters through our door, and follow us to places.
i think i would be able to get past this rift in my dads relationship with me if it were only cheating. but it was all of these combined. i saw him turn into a completely different man. someone who i used to love, spend all my time with and practically was best friends with just destroyed our family without a second thought. not to mention because of this situation i got severe ocd.
since this time last year, he's been living away from us. it for the most part has been much calmer than it previously was in the household. however, the man still knows where we live and still has a phone. for the first few weeks of returning from jail, he would facetime constantly and visit constantly. which i understand, but many times throughout this we put boundaries in place which he repeatedly crossed.

it has been the same ever since. he hasn't visited much but he has an issue with boundaries that he can't seem to shake. i've tried to tell him i need space so many times, but he always tries to manipulate me by saying that he is alone, has no one to talk to, i never talk to him anymore, and says that i hate him. he does the same with my mum aswell, as well as constantly asking her to take him back even though she keeps saying no.
i see that he wants to fix our relationship by spending time with me and contacting me a lot, but i feel it's gone past the point of no return. i dread talking to him in every circumstance. sometimes i do want to see him, but when he's there i'm always just checking the clock to see how much time there is left until he leaves. i feel so guilty for not wanting to fix the relationship even though he keeps trying, but at the moment i really don't have the energy for it and i don't know when i will.
is it bad that i avoid contact? should i try and fix the relationship? please give me advice on this because i don't know how to handle it

TL;DR Strained relationship with dad due to his abusive behaviour towards mum in the past and allowing mistreatment towards both of us. he wants to fix relationship but idk if i can. need advice

should i confront my therapist?

i had been on a waiting list for high intensity CBT through the nhs for 10 months. i started the cbt on friday, through a telephone call. bare this in mind: i’ve been waiting for therapy for so long because the woman i was previously with (for low intensity CBT) transferred me to the high intensity waiting list because of the complexity of my situation (i have severe ocd). so on friday, i talked to the therapist for about an hour, and i vaguely, but in some detail regarding my compulsions, told her about my experience and what i thought had caused it. for a bit more context my OCD compulsions are mostly mental, so like feeling checking and ruminating, etc. i told her about these compulsions, and in DEPTH. she then continued to tell me “since you don’t do rituals like hand washing, checking switches or repeating numbers in your head, it is generalised anxiety disorder and hasn’t developed into ocd yet”. if you have ocd, you would know that these rituals are not the only symptoms of ocd. it’s a complicated disorder and there are many hidden rituals. also bare in mind that she didn’t ask me what my intrusions were about. the difference between GAD and OCD is that GAD causes intrusive thoughts about real life situations like work/family/financial situations etc. OCD gives you intrusive thoughts about irrational fears, such as pedophilia, harm, and others. this is what go through on the daily and have been for a year and a half. how can she just assume its GAD without even considering the full picture? it beats me. tomorrow i have an appointment with her again, and i want to confront her about this. but i fear that she will just dismiss my concerns. i feel like reminding her i want this therapy to treat OCD and nothing else, because that is what i’m going through. many other professionals have told me that this is ocd and i am on literal antidepressants for it. does anyone have any advice on what i should say to her? please let me know

ocd sucks

going to meet my boyfriend for the first time tomorrow and for the last few days i’ve been getting deeply upsetting intrusive thoughts which i’ve never had before. obviously i had other ones but nothing like this. it’s like “omg i’m meeting my boyfriend tomorrow now i have to think of every possible scenario of how it may go and how id feel about it and how it will go wrong” and its torture. i didnt expect this to evoke such thoughts and its upsetting me because i dont want to ruin this, its very special to me :( just wanted to get it off my chest because its been bothering me all day now

resisting the compulsion can be done!!!

for context i have been struggling with the same ocd theme for 7 months now. it’s kinda been improving the last few weeks, as in one week i feel okay and the next week it feels worse than ever. the subtype is rocd, particularly intrusive thoughts about my ex. my biggest compulsion is checking my internal/emotional feelings to make sure i don’t have any feelings for him and that i feel total disgust. i’ve been with my partner who i love more than anything in the world for a year and a half now, and it is the healthiest and safest relationship i’ve ever had. so i definitely think that was the trigger of this specific theme. it sucks, but today ive achieved something- i haven’t checked my feelings for an entire hour. this probably doesn’t sound like a massive feit, but to me it is. usually i’ll be monitoring my feelings 40/50 times a day, and it’s actually exhausting. but today i’m fighting the urge. if ur reading this, i just want you to know that OCD cannot defeat you. and don’t let it. it’s hard but just know you aren’t doing anything wrong, you have a real medical condition. it’s NOT your fault. resisting the compulsion is achievable. YOU CAN DO IT!!!
