Introductory post

Welcome to the Subreddit

Welcome to the place dedicated to bringing attention to AI-vandalized and AI-replaced artwork.

Our mission is simple:

Find artwork that has been replaced, recreated, altered, or generated using AI based on existing artwork, and make sure people see it.

We believe awareness is incredibly important. That's why we will carefully collect these AI versions, post them here, give them visibility, and put them directly in front of as many people as possible.

We'll show the AI version.

We'll show the original.

We'll credit the original artist.

We'll explain what happened.

And most importantly, we'll make sure nobody can possibly miss the AI-generated artwork we're supposedly here to expose.

Because if we're going to raise awareness about AI vandalization, someone has to make sure the vandalized version gets plenty of attention.

We are simply doing our part.

For awareness.

Definitely just awareness.

Please post responsibly, credit the original artists, and remember: the more visible the AI replacement becomes, the more successful our mission is.

👋Welcome to r/FixingArt - Introduce Yourself and Read First!

Welcome to the Community

Welcome! This subreddit is dedicated to bringing attention to AI-vandalized, AI-replaced, and AI-generated versions of existing artwork created by human artists.

What is this subreddit about?

Artists spend hours, days, and sometimes months creating their work. With AI tools becoming increasingly common, original artwork is sometimes taken and transformed, replaced, or used as the basis for AI-generated images without the original artist’s involvement or consent.

This subreddit exists to document and bring visibility to those cases.

We post examples of artwork that has been:

- 🤖 Recreated or replaced using AI

- 🎨 AI-generated from or heavily based on an existing artist's work

- 🖼️ Edited or altered with AI while retaining major elements of the original

- 📌 Posted or circulated as AI work while the original artist or artwork is overlooked

- 🔎 Otherwise relevant examples of AI use that significantly changes or repurposes an existing artwork

What do we do here?

We bring these examples to people's attention.

If you come across an AI version of an artwork, you can post it here alongside the original artwork whenever possible. The purpose is to preserve the context, show what was changed, and make people aware that the image they are seeing may have originated from another artist's work.

Whenever possible, credit the original artist and provide links or sources for both the original and AI-altered work.

This is not about attacking individual artists or users. It's about documenting what is happening to human-made artwork and making sure the original work and its creator aren't erased from the conversation.

Help us preserve the original.

If you see AI-vandalized or AI-replaced artwork, bring it here so others can see what happened.
