Inertia on mouse gyro (dualsense) possible?
SOLVED: the option "momentum" is available as long as you select the "gyro to mouse" option instead of "mouse" in steam input.
Many of you will know the "trackball" experience when using the trackpads of steamcontroller 1/2 or steamdeck, when set to joystick mouse or mouse input.
I was trying to do the same with the gyro on dualsense edge but I cannot. I find only acceleration. Is there a way?
I know it might seem "weird" but I wanted to try it out.
What is cool about the trackball experience is that you input a small amount of movement and depending on the friction/inertia value, it will keep that movement (during deceleration) more or less time.
With the controller gyro imagine a "flick" of the controller would initiate the movement, depending on resistance it will end sooner depending how fast / long you flicked. The movement could still be precisely managed when aiming with small movements.
Anyway you understand the point...is there a way to set it like that? Maybe I am using the wrong option (I only ever used mouse and mouse joystick inputs for the gyro...)?
p.s. to be even more precise, I wanted to test such behaviour out for those instances where you want a fast 180 degree turn: if 1:1 gyro you would need to turn the controller quite a lot, or have ratcheting, but with the trackball experience you would only need a very short and quick flick to have the camera turn 180 degrees. Another alternative would be flick stick but I don't want it. Another alternative is high acceleration but it becomes a bit harder to manage and wanted to try something else.
