California's $3,500 MyFirstEV incentive is now live for Chevrolet EVs.

Qualifying models include Bolt, Equinox EV, and Blazer EV with MSRP of $50K and under.

Incentive is taken off price of vehicle at point of sale.

Must be a permanent resident of the State of California to claim incentive.

No income limitations.

Must be your first EV (must sign and submit attestation form required under penalty of perjury)

Prospective first-time EV owners residing in the State of California that are interested in Hyundai Ioniq 5, the $3,500 MyFirstEV incentive program is now active for Hyundai.

After introducing the 2026 bZ, which dropped the former bZ4X name and received upgrades in just about every way, Toyota's electric SUV has suddenly become one of America's most popular EVS.

To make it even more tempting, Toyota is offering a $3,000 conquest cash offer this month toward the purchase of a new bZ if you trade in an old competitive EV.

The deal is available in California for owners of a 2020 to 2023 model year Tesla Model Y or Model 3, Hyundai IONIQ 5, Ford Mustang Mach-E, Volkswagen
ID.4, Kia EV6, or Nissan Leaf.

“According to Q7 product manager Wolfgang Carl, the Q7 e-tron will likely come standard with a dual-motor setup and the option of three rows of seating.“

Good news for potential future Prologue owners living in California either looking to buy new or used.

A new State incentive will soon go into effect. The $135 million pot will require participating automakers to match dollar for dollar, providing up to $3,500 at point of sale to the consumer.

“The California plan comes nearly two years after Newsom pledged shortly after President Donald Trump's 2024 election win that he would step in to offer electric vehicle tax credits to consumers if Trump followed through on campaign promises to end the popular $7,500 federal credit. Trump did follow through on those pledges when he pushed legislation through Congress that ended the federal tax credit on Sept. 30, 2025.

EV supporters praised California for stepping in to file at least part of the breach.

$135 million for first-time EV buyers, matched dollar-for-dollar by automakers, adds up to more than $270 million in welcome help for new EV buyers," said Mike Murphy, CEO of the American EV Jobs Alliance, an advocacy group that works with car manufacturers to push U.S. and state lawmakers to adopt EV-friendly policies. “When you are a small company, you can’t bet on every horse in the race,” says Volvo chief commercial officer Erik Severinson. “If you bet on everything, you focus on nothing. We took a deliberate decision about five years ago to focus our internal resources on electric vehicles and software-defined vehicles.”

It is admittedly an expensive bet and a tough journey, he says, but it would have been even more difficult if Volvo was also investing in internal combustion engines to meet the latest emissions standards around the world.

Volvo’s CEO Håkan Samuelsson said he thinks EVs are better cars, plain and simple. They are lower cost and better for the environment. Electrification is the future and that is where he is allocating most of Volvo’s resources, engineering electric vehicle platforms and developing software.

But he recognizes the transition must be managed properly and in markets like the U.S., plug-in hybrids remain a bridge solution until there is a greater acceptance of pure EVs. In the interim, Volvo can share costs with Geely for platforms, powertrains, and basic technology, but with a Volvo top hat.

US buyers interested in the BMW iX3 can now configure a vehicle online and submit their reservations.

Dealership allocations in the US appear to be coming sooner than expected ahead of the summer season.
