Does Navi Mumbai International Airport need a metro connectivity?

Currently, there is no direct metro service from Mumbai Airport to Navi Mumbai airport. All Mumbai residents, who wants to catch the flight at Navi Mumbai airport, has reach by either by their own vehicle or by public transport, like train, taxi and bus (chalo bus service from Andheri and Colaba, and MSRTC bus service from Dadar and Borivali). It takes over hour to reach Navi Mumbai Airport from the parts of Mumbai, depending upon the area (for e.g. Andheri, Borivali, Malad etc). If people are travelling by train to reach Navi Mumbai airport, the frequency of Nerul/Belapur-Uran train services is less, so people either have to get down at Seawoods-Darave-Karave or Belapur CBD, and it takes 1 to 2 hours from Mumbai, depending upon the railway station. And the taxi fare is too costly, like for example Uber cabs fare from Borivali to NMIA is Rs. 753 for Uber Go (Hyundai Prime/Aura, Maruti Suzuki Dzire/Tour S or Wagon r/Tour H3) and Rs. 2275 for Uber XL (Maruti Suzuki Ertiga/Tour M or Toyota Rumion). Same goes with from CSMIA to NMIA, the fare is Rs. 550 for Uber Go and Rs. 1537 for Uber XL. There is a metro line service in Navi Mumbai, but only from Belapur to Pendhar (Taloja) and it doesn't go to the airport.

Does Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) badly need a metro connectivity?
