Friend always wanted a surprise party. We threw her one just for her to complain.

My friend, who let's call Nancy, has always wanted a surprise party for her birthday. The actual day of her birthday was pretty rough, so we decided to throw her a surprise party this year to fulfill her wish. We came together as a friend group to decorate my house with birthday decor we knew she would like. Made it fancy as she's into fancy things. I'm an amatuer baker, and have been baking for a non-profit who serves at-risk youth, family, & friends for years now. Nancy mentioned a month ago that she wanted a cake from me, but I wasn't sure if that was still what she wanted as she never said a flavor. Apparantly, she was dissapointed on her actual birthday that I didn't make her cake. So I decided to make her one for the surprise party. Nancy has really been into a specific book lately, so I thought I would make the cake in the colors of the book. The party took place at my house, and we picked up some food from a restaurant to be ready for when she came. Nancy's sister was in charge of bringing her to my house. They ended up being two hours late. Nancy complained about just about everything. The ingredients for her favorite alcoholic drink were wrong (even though every recipe we found online said the ingredients that we bought), complained that the cake did not look like it went with the book enough, complained that she wasn't dressed fancy, blamed me for ruining the surprise an hour before she came which was really just a misunderstanding with her sister, and didn't even want to take pictures with the photo op we made. She seemed genuinely dissapointed, and didn't thank a single person. You can't beg for a surprise party for years, and then complain the whole time when you get one!

Resident dog is friendly with new dog until she suddenly starts a fight due to resource guarding. How do I go about mending their relationship, and move towards eventual complete trust?

My resident dog Lilly is 10 years old. I've had her since she was a puppy. She is a big mutt. We believe golden retriever, Australian shepherd, & lab. She has always been shy and anxious towards new people and other dogs. We recently took in a bordie collie, Phoenix, who needed to be rehomed by a family friend. She is 3 years old. Phoenix has been in our home for a week now. We had them meet on neutral ground. Phoenix was crated/penned for the majority of the time the first few days. They socialized with Phoenix on the leash around the house and outside. I then let them socialize while leashed, but it dragging in case I needed to step in. They only interact without barriers when I can supervise. Lilly freaks out if Phoenix tries to enter the living room. Barks and gets agressive. Has started a fight there. Another fight broke out when Phoenix tried to walk through a doorway that Lilly was standing in. I had just taken them both out on a walk, with another person assisting so it was one person per dog. We got home, and Lilly got agressive and started a fight because Phoenix tried to get water at the same time as her. They have had plenty of time socializing where they've been able to play together without any issues. Have laid next to each other, been petted together, pottied together, etc all without any incidents. Phoenix is crated at night, and in a pen while I'm at work. Lilly has always been afraid of being confined. She is now completely fine with Phoenix penned and crated. I seperated them after the most recent fight. Lilly went up to the pen five minutes after I let her out of the room whining to play with Phoenix. They are now completely fine and seperated. I'm not sure how to proceed. How do I get Lilly to stop resource guarding? Does she need more time? Should I just keep them seperate for multiple days? Any help is appreciated.

I found week old American cheese still in it's plastic in my pocket

I was out at breakfast with my husband this morning. I felt something weird in my jean pocket so I decided to put my hand in to see what it was. I then pulled out American cheese still in its plastic wrapper, with half of it missing. At first I was like what the heck is this? But then I remembered that I had taken my dog out on a walk a week prior where I was working on training and had taken cheese with me. I must have forgotten to take it out of my pocket. I also live in an area that has extreme dry heat. I was already not a fan of American cheese before, now I really am not due to seeing how it looks the same after sitting in a pocket for a week with how hot it gets. PS: I usually wear my jeans a few times before I wash them, and I had barely worn them since the day I wore them when I was training my dog.

Ex-tenant showed up at my rental at 10:30pm to ask for mail. I was home alone, and he kept ringing the doorbell until I answered.

My husband, myself (female), and pets have lived in our rental house for about 2 months now. The owner goes through a third party property company. We've receieved a few pieces of mail, and a package from an expensive brand in their name since we moved in. The property company told us that we can tell them if we get any mail of the ex-tenants as the home owner previously rented it out to family, so the mail can be passed along. Property company picked up their mail last week. I was home alone, it's 10:30pm, and I'm getting ready for bed as I have work in the morning. All of a sudden the doorbell rings, and my dog is going crazy. I decided to ignore it because I'm home alone, it's late at night, and I'm a female. Well the bell kept ringing, and the dog kept going crazy. I look through the peephole and see a man. Open the door to him telling me "Hey, I used to live here. Was wondering if you have any mail in my name?". I proceeded to tell him that I gave it to the landlord, and it's late at night.

Who does this? If you have mail that went to an old address, please don't show up at 10:30pm unannounced to ask for it!

Mack in the movie Cars going by the brand of truck he is (a Mack) would be like us going by our ethnicity

Mack, Lightning Mcqueen's driver, is a Mack Truck. This would be like me (a white person) going by the name of 'White', or a Latino person going by 'Latino', etc. Or maybe his parents were just very uncreative? Who knows!

Those that do Disney often & also enjoy other vacations, how do you balance Disney trips while also doing other types?

I've been a big Disneyland fan for years. Had a Magic Key a few years back, but recently just got one again. The park is about 4 hours from where I live. I drive down the morning of, attend the parks for a day, sleep in a motel, then drive home the next day. I'm also wanting to start venturing out into other types of vacations such as visiting another state, or going on a cruise. Anyone have experience with balancing Disney alongside other types of vacations?

Well, duh! Maybe you should always double check what your kids are watching. There's a difference between 'TV-PG' and PG movies

Caine's real name is Scratch-according to my 7 year old niece

I recently babysat my 7 year old niece and her younger sister. They're constantly on Youtube at home, and of course put it on at my house. Some TADC videos came on, and I asked them if they've watched the show. I'm not sure if they've seen the whole thing, but I could tell from her stories that she's seen bits and pieces of it. Tried to tell me that Caine's real name was Scratch, and a few other things that I can't remember (something about Jax). What an interesting theory though. And no, I'm not a fan of young kids watching whatever on Youtube.

I'm learning how to write with my non-dominant hand. The letters on the top are using that hand, while the bottom letters are using my dominant hand.

I wish we knew the backstory oh how they all got access to the headset

One of the biggest questions I had about the show was how the characters got access to the headsets in the first place. Kinger obviously put it on while working at C&A. Pomni probably found it while exploring abandoned buildings. Jax may have found it while homeless. But what about the others?

When people recognize me by my shoes in the bathroom stall and try to make conversation

I work in an office of about 30 people. Our field is female dominated, and I'm a female myself. I have an interest in sneakers, and typically wear more unique ones. I often get recognized by my shoes in the bathroom stalls. My stomach also hates me, which makes me be in there for an ungodly amount of time sometimes. It's really getting on my nerves to hear "Hey OP, is that you? Have you heard about blah, bah, bah" while I'm struggling to take a shit.

Chocolate banana coffee anywhere?

I'm looking to find a good place to get a chocolate banana flavored latte. I primarily make coffee at home, but have not yet mastered this flavor. I don't like the one from Dutch Bros, and I hate Starbucks.

Any experience at Keck Medicine of USC?

I asked for a referral to a GI Motility Clinic. My GI doctor in Central California referred me to the Esophageal & Foregut Disorder Center at Keck Medicine of USC. I will be seeing Dr. Anisa Shaker. However, I have not seen this hospital or doctor on the lists here on the subreddit for Motility Clinics. I also cannot seem to find any experiences from this hospital on here. Anyone have experience with either the hospital or doctor? It would be a 5-hour drive for me to be seen there, and possibly an overnight stay if I'm too tired to drive home. Not sure if it's worth it or not.

When people use random unknown acronyms for things and assume you know what they're talking about

This has been happening to me lately when talking to people about their workplace. Their jobs use unkown acronyms specific to their workplace, and then assume I know what they're referring to. How am I supposed to know what it means if that's specific to your job? Well known acronyms would include PTO (Paid Time Off), or EOD (End of Day). An example of this pet peeve:

Me: Did your schedule change?

Friend: No, I used RHM

Me: What is that?

Friend: You know, RHM

Me: No, I don't know what that is

Friend: Ugh, it's *insert meaning here*
