Hello r/StittsvilleON, I’m Tanya Hein, a local mom, business owner and chronic volunteer running to be your next Ottawa City Councillor in Stittsville Ward 6.

I bring a broad range of skills and experience to this candidacy, with a background in journalism, federal legislative analysis and administration, and now as a paralegal focused on administrative tribunals such as the Landlord and Tenant Board and the Ontario Land Tribunal.

ABOUT LAINE

Laine Johnson has represented College Ward since 2022 and is running for re-election.

Laine and her husband are raising their family in Nepean.

In information provided for this AMA, Laine highlighted work over the past four years on traffic calming and road safety, new sidewalk infrastructure on Robertson Road, supporting the Bells Corners business community, and advocating with Hydro Ottawa on the Bells Corners substation and tree-trimming program.

She says the July 1 flooding exposed weaknesses in local stormwater and creek management and that finding longer-term solutions will be a priority.

Laine has also identified recreation infrastructure and transit as priorities, including investment in facilities such as outdoor pools and ensuring Bells Corners has reliable bus connections when the west LRT extension opens.

Quick background: I've spent my career in cybersecurity and critical infrastructure, mostly in leadership roles. This primarily involves managing budgets, meeting deadlines, handling negotiations and being accountable for results and explaining delays.

I live in Fairwinds with my husband and our dog. I've knocked on more than 11,000 doors since May.

Residents have shared their priorities: transit and traffic, safe and liveable neighbourhoods, and accountability for the taxes we pay. And that's my platform, not the other way around.

Hi r/StittsvilleON! I’m Chelsea Walton, Ward 6 candidate for Ottawa City Council. I’m a local Stittsville neighbour, community builder, and mom raising five daughters right here in our ward.

For the past eight years, I’ve worked inside the City of Ottawa — including directly in our Stittsville ward office — giving me deep experience in how City Hall operates, how local services work, and how to get real results for residents. Before my time at the City, I spent years working in the gender-based violence sector as an advocate.

I’m running to make sure Stittsville gets the investment in infrastructure and services our growing community needs. That means moving much-needed road projects forward, taking better care of our existing roads and sidewalks, and improving transit so residents have reliable options for getting around.

I’ll also advocate for better access to recreation, health care and social services close to home, right here in Stittsville.
