I barely made it through nursing school and I just received my first Daisy Award nomination!
Hang in there guys, don’t give up! How you perform in nursing school will not determine the kind of nurse you are. I barely managed to meet the 77% grade minimum for most of my classes and I failed my NCLEX the first time, but I’ve already been thanked my several families for truly caring for them and going above and beyond and now one of them actually nominated me for a Daisy Award 😭😭😭
I know they don’t really mean much nowadays and some hospitals just hand them out to literally anyone but I struggled with low confidence during nursing school and as a new grad after failing my first attempt at the NCLEX so this truly means a lot to me and it encourages me to keep doing what I’m doing.
I’ve always had horrible studying habits and I had a part time job during school so I was on the brink of failing every single semester 💔 If I can do it, you guys can too. Don’t be discouraged when you fail an exam or when your classmates score higher than you. I’ve been a new grad for almost 5 months and not a single patient or person has asked me what my GPA was during nursing school or what my grade was in pharmacology! But they have thanked me for being a good nurse and making them feel better and comfortable. You got this !!!!
