What do you think happened to Kristina Frye?

After she got hypnotised by Red John and her “soul died”, we didn‘t really see anything of her anymore. She was obviously physically unharmed but something was reaaally uncanny about her after the whole hypnosis incident. I remember the scene when Jane finds her sitting in that chair and I remember getting chills because she looked so dead.

I would have been curious to know what happened to her in the end though. Like, did she ever get out of the hypnosis? And if not, would that have driven her to her ultimate demise? So interesting to think about

Rory isn‘t really a girl‘s girl

I’m super new to this sub, so sorry if this has already been discussed before. I just finished rewatching Gilmore Girls for the second time (the first time I watched it, I was 15, and now almost four years have passed) and one thing that really stood out to me is how Rory only seems to be a “girl’s girl” under certain circumstances.

Putting aside the constant fat-phobic comments she makes throughout the show (which… is weird because Lorelai makes those too and her best friend is Sookie? Feels very insensitive), Rory often feels very selective in how supportive she is toward other women. For example, once she starts dating Dean, she pretty much sidelines Lane completely. Even after Lane directly tells her how hurt she feels about it, Rory doesn’t really change her behaviour. And when Lane gets sent off to Korea, Rory is just sitting there cuddling Dean on a bench and casually waves goodbye, despite not even knowing when—or if—Lane would come back. Considering Lane was supposedly her best friend at that point, the scene always felt strangely detached to me. I think this becomes even more obvious later on as Rory gets older. She sleeps with Dean while he’s married and keeps referring to him as “my Dean,” even though he’s obviously Lindsay’s husband at that point. She’s also pretty dismissive toward Paris on multiple occasions.

I can’t think of every specific example right now, but I also remember Rory sometimes coming across as judgmental toward girls who were more openly feminine, fashionable, or conventionally “girly.” Which feels ironic, because she herself embraced that aesthetic at times too, like during the whole 1950s-themed dinner she planned for Dean. She also seems to have a very negative attitude toward housewives, even though her own grandmother is one. At the same time, there are moments where she’s supportive, like when she helped Paris get ready for her date by lending her clothes and makeup. That’s why I feel like Rory can be a girl’s girl, but only selectively depending on the situation or the person involved.

Am I completely off with these observations? It’s been a while since I watched some parts of the show, so maybe I’m misremembering certain things, but that was definitely the overall impression I got. Anyway, rant over lol.

Edit: When I used the term “girl’s girl,” I didn’t mean it as some kind of moral policing of women’s behaviour or as a way to say women must act a certain way. I was using it in the sense of someone who is supportive toward other women, uplifts them, and sees them as allies rather than competition. To me, a “girl’s girl” values female solidarity and mutual support instead of constantly prioritising male approval or male-centred relationships. That doesn’t make someone a terrible or evil person if they fall short of that ideal, and I’m not trying to paint Rory as some kind of villain. I mainly made this post because I often see people defend literally every action Rory takes, even when some of those actions are clearly hurtful or selfish.

Opinions on the new Jellycat dragon?

I mean, it’s cute, but it honestly feels almost identical to Sky. The only real differences are the pink body and the rearranged scale colours…

Personally, I don’t think I’ll be buying this one. I really wish Jellycat would experiment more with different dragon colour combinations or even branch out into other mythical creatures instead of focusing so heavily on dragons. The design for this one also feels a bit uninspired to me because of how similar it is to Heart and Sky Dragon.

Why do people dislike Van Pelt so much?

I’m currently on season 5, and honestly I’m really surprised by how much hate Van Pelt gets. I keep seeing people criticize her competence and call her “useless,” but in so many episodes she’s the one doing most of the research, and she usually does it quickly and reliably. After everything with O’Laughlin—being manipulated by him, falling in love with him, planning to marry him, and then ultimately having to kill him—it makes complete sense to me that she spirals emotionally afterward. Her anger and instability felt like a very believable response to that kind of trauma and emotional devastation. Realistically, she probably shouldn’t have been working while in that state, but I’d argue that was not a failure on her part.

Overall, I see Van Pelt as a kind, caring, and empathetic person who simply has a naturally trusting personality, and I don’t think that’s inherently a flaw. So I’m honestly confused about why so much of the fandom seems to dislike her so intensely? Maybe someone can clear it up for me hahah

What dog breed should I get?

Hi everyone! I’m a 19-year-old woman and will be going off to university soon, and I’d really love to get a dog. I’ve never owned one before, so I don’t have any direct experience, but I grew up with a cat and I’m very willing to learn and put in the effort.

I’m not especially athletic or sporty, but I do genuinely enjoy long walks and occasionally go hiking on weekends when I have the time. I grew up hiking with my family ever since I was little. I wouldn’t call myself highly experienced, but I can easily manage hikes of around five hours. I also love swimming and going to the beach. I travel quite a bit too, usually to warmer, sunny places where I can either relax in nature or explore cities and beautiful landscapes, so ideally I’d want a dog that could comfortably join me in those kinds of activities.

One thing that is important to me is feeling safe. Since I’ll likely be living alone, I’d love a dog whose presence would make me feel protected. However, I’ve also heard that traditional guard breeds like German Shepherds or Dobermans can be difficult for first-time owners, and I’m not sure I’d be equipped to properly handle breeds with those kinds of needs. In terms of size, I’d prefer a medium-sized dog. I’d also like a coat that doesn’t shed excessively if possible. I don’t mind brushing occasionally or dealing with seasonal shedding, but ideally not constant daily maintenance, haha. I don’t have allergies, so that part isn’t an issue. I’d also prefer a dog that isn’t extremely vocal; I’ve heard breeds like Huskies can be very loud and howl a lot, which probably wouldn’t be ideal for me as I‘ll probably be living in a flat and excessive howling could disturb other people.

As for appearance and breeds I’m drawn to, I absolutely love Shiba Inus and Akita Inus aesthetically. I also find Golden Retrievers and Border Collies adorable. Dalmatians were probably the first breed I ever fell in love with because of 101 Dalmatians, and honestly I still kind of adore them.

Based on all of this, what breeds do you think might suit me best?

Amuseables Sun with Rollerskates

Does anyone have pictures of their Amuseables Sun with Rollerskates taken irl? I’m trying to decide whether I really want it or not! Thanks :)

Am I the only one who doesn‘t name all their Jellycats?

I never name my Amuseables, and out of the other plushies, I‘ve only ever named two for some reason. One is my Springlowe and the other my Thuddeus! Aka the ones I cuddle with every night lol.

Do you name all of your Jellycats? Or just a few?
