Even cops mess up
I thought he was going to pull me over because of the crackdown on anything electric on 2 wheels
Would've cost me ~$144.50 to go to St.Louis via Car, taking the train costs $54
Assuming 20mpg, at $4.80/gallon (last time I went to fill up, probably more ngl) and 297 miles thats $71.28 in gas alone just to go to St.Louis, not including the return, doesnt even account for extra repair cost this is a joke
If I rented a cheap eco car when I get there and it will STILL be less than if I just drove there myself, these gas prices are insane
So, we have the new Ride1up Revv1 EVO, its cool and all but, what's the point in changing the design to just incorporate a semi solid state battery?
It looks like it's a road-going version of the Revv1 DRT, so it looks like it's an inbetwen of the DRT and FS, but being priced at $200 more than the DRT and $500 more than the FS, it has no real justification of that price
With it being an inbetween, it also lacks road going features (Such as signals), and sacrifices functionality for looks (Long seat, no center cage, "weird" battery positioning)
It looks like Ride1up is trying more to appeal to other, cheaper emopeds. but when you get to this price range people are going to be looking at the DRT more than this EVO. It just doesn't make sense
I wish we had a higher powered successor or a new design that focuses more on battery (Integrated battery, like the Onyx RCR), rather than DRT "downgrade" just for a different battery
Hello, and, this is regarding the heavily controversial topic of e-motos and, their regulations
\> What is an e-moto?
I say e-motos as deregulated electric dirt bikes without VINs, plates, and produce more than 2hp or \~1500w. These bikes are a plague to society and have gotten many kids killed or seriously injured over the past years where they have gotten extensively more popular
\> What happened to kids having fun outside?
I'm not saying kids shouldn't have fun outside, but it needs to be limited. So many parents are getting their kids e-motos capable of going 40mph or more with just a wire snip with many online tutorials on how to get these motorcycles to either go past their stock limiter of 20mph or 30mph (Class 2/4 ebike) or unlock crazy power
and, what happened to bicycles? Why are we giving these kids high powered electric motorcycles that are going to end up getting them hurt due to their misuse?
Take ride1up for example with their Revv1 (Stock limited to 1.5kw), in order to get the bike to go past 28mph pedal assist and 20mph throttle, you have to esign a waiver that says you understand the risks and are responsible
So many e motos now are just bypassing regulation as well (Without VINs) and just being sold as "safe bicycles", where they are heavily targeted towards kids
Sorry man, but seeing 3 different kids running stop signs and blasting over 35mph in a 20/25mph zone is just insane, them trying to pull wheelies, running red lights. Its not about kids having fun, its about them being safe since they are not mature enough to handle such a high powered vehicle; they are playing with their lives and potentially other people's lives as well
With the ease of getting one nowadays, they are becoming more and more dangerous, its not about a kid "getting a fast bicycle", its about a kid getting a dirt bike, once a parent understands these risks it should make kids much safer
This is coming from someone who is building a electric motorcycle that goes 60mph+ off the ride1up Revv1 platform. Where I understand the risks and know that I could die even going 30mph getting hit by a car
Another point to be made is gear: these kids are riding around with nothing but a helmet, which if you know anything about meat crayons, they are going to become one
