How to spend our entire weekend busy?

During work days, I get busy by working out in the morning and going to work. By the time I come back home, I'm tired and usually can relax.

The challenge are the weekends. I basically stay in the couch all day long thinking bad stuff. It's pretty depressing. Ideally I'd spend the entire weekend outside, just coming home to sleep, but don't have anyone to hang out with and my interests are limited. I like peaceful activities, which don't seem common. I can have walks in the morning, but the day has 16h.

Allergist said air purifiers aren't effective for dust mites. Is it true?

He mentioned that he never recommends patients to invest on air purifiers because the benefit they bring is not worth it. I was ready to buy an expensive one because I thought it'd significantly improve my allergy symptoms, but that made me change my mind.

My dentist recommended surgery but I don't know if the benefits outweigh the risks.

I have TMD. Symptoms I can identify are locked jaw, clicking noises, and jaw fatigue. It's prominent only in my left side. It sure is annoying. I try not to sleep with my left face on the pillow so not to wake up with a locked jaw, but besides that, it's livable. My main interest in doing the surgery would be to hopefully improve my tinnitus and movement disorder. The latter two impact me quite greatly and although they may not be caused at all by my TMD, doctors haven't found a cause, so it'd be a sort of last resort. I'd be willing to do it if the risk of complication was low, but reading a few comments here I don't think that's the case. Not only there is the risk of the surgery itself, but my teeth are not in a natural position. I'd need to do brace work before. The dentist said it was mandatory and that I'd feel uncomfortable at first because my bite wouldn't be right, but then the surgery would fix it, and symptoms should improve. He didn't promiss anything related to my movement disorder or tinnitus, but said at least my clicking and locked jaw would stop.

He said it's a month of recovery post-surgery and it'd be at least one full year of orthodontics to prepare for the surgery. It's a long term and expensive commitment and since he is the one profitting over it, I can't rely on him to tell me if it's worth the money and the risks, so I'd be really thankful for your opinion.

The allergy clinic doesn't do 2 shots per week even if paying out of pocket. Any idea why?

I just asked and that's what they said. No one there has ever taken 2 shots per week, and it's a clinic specialized in allergy shots, so that's that. I was interested in taking 2 per week as opposed to one to get relief faster. Dust mite allergy.

Is a 120CADR enough for a bedroom of 172ft²/16m²?

I know 120CADR is almost nothing but I'm limited in what I can at the moment. My room is small though. 2/3 of 172 is 114, so maybe is enough? I want to use for dust mites exclusively. I just did sinus surgery due to my severe allergy to them and I don't want to repeat it, so an air purifier is a must. So you guys think it will he enough?

Severe dust mite allergy made me do surgery but I have no idea how to tackle this after the post-op. Do you have advice?

When I say severe, it really is severe. Total IgE of 2700 and the highest scores for each dust mite species. I'm apparently only allergic to them. Did the test at the clinic. Both serum and skin prick. It makes me cry and be congested basically every day to the point I forgot what it meant to breathe. And I myself didn't know I forget until right after doing the sinus surgery. I could breathe again and it was magical.

Now I'm on my second day post op and nose is all clogged up. No wonder why. I came back to my house, which is full of dust mites. I never want to be a mouth breather again, so I'll invest on a good air purifier and anti-dust mite bedding but I know it won't be enough and this is the part I want to ask advice. My allergy and the sinus inflammation it creates is really severe and I need to take medication for it but I'm sensitive to steroids. Mood swings, irritability, and anxiety are side effects I get even from spray versions. My ENT surgeon prescribed oral prednisone for my current post op and I haven't taken it yet and don't know if I will because it's so awful to feel mentally imbalanced. My ENT doesn't agree with my decision be he is only looking from the nose perspective, not the mental health. It's truly awful to feel you are not your normal self because you started a steroid. So I am looking for an alternative or a way of tolerating them.

Did anyone skip oral steroids after sinus surgery?

I did extensive surgery in my nose 2 days ago. Turbinoplasty, septoplasty and FESS. Doctor prescribed antibiotics/saline rinses (which I'm taking) and oral prednisone (which I'm not taking). I sent him a message asking if it was okay, despite not being ideal, but he didn't reply yet. I know it's preferable to take the oral steroid (40mg for 5 days), but my mental health is not the best and I fear it could destabilize me. I don't want to feel unstable. It's an awful feeling.

How do you guys support your wife's efforts in losing weight? Do you ever train together?

Me and my partner plan on having our first child. Since she is somewhat overweight, it's recommend for her to lose weight but we don't have much of a clue of what to do. She doesn't like the dry, static training from the gym. She does like swimming, but it hasn't worked much in terms of weight. All I know is sandbags and calisthenics, but since they are more strength-based exercises, I don't know if it'd be adequate. I thought about kettlebells too, but there are so many programs out there that it overwhelms. Thank you to anyone that helps.

Are porn blockers safe to use? Mainly, bulldog blocker for android.

Since I do bank transactions on my phone, I'm a bit worried it might get my password and such. I know it has almost a million downloads and a lot of reviews, but I'm still cautious.

What made you turn your face away from fap permanently?

Recently I had a promotion at work. It was something I was able to get only because I managed to be nofap for a few weeks. It's amazing how just a few minutes and then hours of watching content turn me into an anxious, weak person, and since I knew I'd be facing a lot of challenges, I felt I Had to do nofap. One week after, I relapsed. Stress, loneliness, other things. So I searched for a blocker app that I couldn't turn off. Since I use my bank account on my phone, I was worried the app might get my password, so I didn't install it. And now I don't know what to do. The new job is harder. I truly do need every ounce of strength I can have. I thought of using a brick phone but I need my phone for work. Appreciate any advice.

At what time of the day do you train?

I used to train in the morning, right after waking up and before breakfast. It's what made most sense. I felt good, it aligned with my working hours. But then I fainted after a workout. I didn't get a fracture, but my coccix got hurt and I needed a week off work. Doctors said it was likely due to either low blood pressure (due to low sodium) or hypoglycemia (low glucose).

I tried eating a bit before, like a sweet potato with an egg and coconut water, but then I wondered if this was the best approach. Not only due to my history of fainting, but also I suppose I didn't feel super capable. I mean, I was basically hungry after all. Then I saw a recommendatiom to eat a full meal within an hour of waking up and that seemed cool, but then my workout got impacted in a different way. My workouts are usually 2h long. 1h 30min if I can push a bit. I need to get ready for work at around 09:40 am and come home only at night, around 8:00 pm. If I eat a full meal before working out, then I'd need to wait at least an hour or so before, considering a heavy workout. Takes a bit to prepare food, and all in all, I can't figure out how to find time.

Thanks for reading and helping in what you can

Do you know of any affordable air purifier that is bivolt or works on 220v and ships internationally?

In my country appliances are 220v, so I can't use most air purifiers as here they are not a thing and I'd need to import, which usually means buying in 120v. I could use a voltage converter but they can be a bit complicated as we have to use the right voltage and there other issues that would need to be addressed for it to be safe and I don't have the knowledge for this type of thing. One air purifier I found that works on 220v is the AirFanta Pro 13, but I read it uses poor quality proprietary filters, which would defeat the point. My preference is towards CR-Box style purifiers but anything that works would be okay.

Male jeans are either too tight or too floppy. I need an alternative for casual and work use

As a teen, my pants used to fall off. I thought it was because I was skinny. As an adult, the same thing, so I decided to go shopping for better fitting jeans. At the store, it was all good. Seemed correct for my size. After I washed, in my first time wearing it the pants were more loose and towards the afternoon they were literally falling off in the middle of the street. Researching, I found out it's not about weight. It's how male jean pants are designed. This is why those that are overweight still need to use belts. I don't like belts. I then had my pants tailored to be a bit tighter, but it became too tight, like squeezing my stomach kind of tight, just like I feel when wearing belts, so I want to wear something else that doesn't give all this hassle. My gym pants don't have this issue, but I can't wear them at work and other social situations. I pondered if I were overeacting, but it came to mind how common it is to sacrifice comfort for looks. I bought a shoe that was like wearing a brick, but it's a well-regarded brand and model. So, I want advice. It's not like I'll never wear jeans, but honestly, as a grown-up it's infantalizing to wear pants that fall off, or the opposite, have pants that stay in place but hurt your stomach.

My allergist never asked me to stay in the clinic after the vaccine. Is it normal?

I'm allergic to dust mites. It's I think a severe allergy. IgE was 2700 and the specific for dust mites were also very high. Symptoms are chronic stuffed nose that barely lets me breathe and sneezing. I read that vaccines carry risk, that some people get side effects to the point they need to lower their vaccine dose and my allergist didn't tell me any of this. He also never asked me to stay and I read the general guidance is to stay in the clinic for at least 30 minutes after the shot. I'm on my third week and building phase.

What supplements for better erectile function are non-stimulating and safe for unstable mood?

Most supplements advised are detrimental for people that are mood/energy-sensitive such as bipolar patients. Ginseng, aged garlic, tribulus, maca, horny goat weed. The issue is that anything with antidepressant-like activity carries the risk of inducing mania. If you are sensitive and found something that works while keeping you stable, I'd be very grateful if you shared. Thanks

I watch the videos due to longing a partner and family. Sometimes we can't have them, so how to live life alone missing less?

I don't have a partner or a group I can call family. This has always been my reason to fap. It is distorted, but I did while imagining to have these bonds and experiences. The general advice is to to go and seek out relationships but that isn't always an option. Sometimes being alone is all we can be. Thank you

Can I tolerate pycnogenol when I'm sensitive to mental stimulation?

Some people say they couldn't take it at night because it made them mentally stimulated, or caused irritability. Irritability is on the leaflet of possible side effects. I figured this could possibly be due to its effects on ADHD as it is effective for that condition. When someone's brain adapts to a subfunctional state (ADHD), correcting it and bringing to scientific normal levels could actually feel distabilizing. I'd be taking it for better erectile function though.

Can the amount of glycine and other chelators change depending on manufacturer for the same amount of elemental magnesium?

One says: "Bisglycinate contains 14.1% elemental magnesium by mass. Accordingly, 100 mg of magnesium is contained in 709 mg of magnesium glycinate."

Another says: "170mg bisglycinate - 51mg elemental magnesium".

I have no way to confirm as I know nothing about how supplements are made, but it made me question just how much of a chelator is needed to optimize absorption. If the second product's claim is legitimate, then It'd be interesting for people that are sensitive to chelators, as 119mg glycine is practically nothing.

To make sure the information was right, I searched for the ratio of citrate and elemental magnesium in a third source, which said: "Magnesium citrate typically contains about 16% elemental magnesium. For example, 100 mg of magnesium citrate provides about 16 mg of elemental". That amount is the same one that the second source says (it sells a magnesium supplement with 5 different chelators at the same time).

I was hesitant to buy magnesium supplements because most have very high chelator amounts. Like 2-3g of chelators like glycine and citrate per 200-300mg of elemental magnesium. Do popular brands purposefully increase their chelator beyond necessary for "added benefit"? I got the 2g per 200mg ratio from a magnesium supplement by Doctor's Best on Iherb.
